Dior Pink Glow Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Pink Glow (619)
Dior Pink Glow (619) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a pink and red color, neutral color story that included satin to sparkle finishes. Two of the shades were more sparkly but had decent coverage despite that, so they were functional as standalone shades as well as for layering. I had issues with the fifth shade, which felt quite different than any other shadow I’ve tried from the brand–it felt like a cream-powder hybrid, so it was stiffer to work with.

Pink Glow #1
Pink Glow #1 is a light-medium, yellow gold with warm undertones and flecks of pink and peach sparkle. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation chocked full of larger flecks of sparkle, so it was best patted/pressed into place and was even better applied with a fingertip, though a dry brush was workable. The texture was soft, smooth, and not too powdery. It stayed on well for eight hours with light fallout over time.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy and comfortable texture" that is long-wearing and has "intense color" (or "high-pigment"). There are five finishes that can be found within various palettes: matte, satin, shimmer, metallic, highlighter, and glitter, though there aren't specific descriptions by finish, unfortunately.
There were a few shades that seemed more sparkly and were sheerer, more like layering shades, while the other finishes tended to be pigmented. In general, the texture was moderately dense with the matte shades being slightly thinner and a smidgen powdery in the pan compared to the satin, shimmer, and metallic shades.
Aside from those more sparkly shades, the formula was blendable, pigmented, easy to work with, and lasted an average of eight hours on me (without a primer).

Pink Glow #2
Pink Glow #2 is a medium, pinkish-coral with flecks of pink and gold pearl woven through a more pearl-like finish. It had opaque color coverage paired with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t overly dense but wasn’t prone to fallout either. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Pink Glow #3
Pink Glow #3 is a light, pinky-beige with warm undertones and a sparkling finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin with little fallout, but it was a shade I’d recommend applying with a fingertip to minimize fallout further. The texture was lightly emollient, dense but still yielding enough to work with a dry brush. This shade lasted nicely for eight hours with light fallout over time.

Pink Glow #4
Pink Glow #4 is a medium-dark, reddish-copper with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a moderately dense, smooth consistency that wasn’t too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it picked up well with a dry brush and blended out with ease. It stayed on well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Pink Glow #5
Pink Glow #5 is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was more like a cream-to-powder as it felt more emollient but very firm and more compacted into the pan, so it was hard to get product out with a dry brush. I had better luck with a fluffy, synthetic brush, which grabbed product more evenly. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly initially but wasn’t the most blendable. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

It seems like a bit of mixed quality here and I think that the two light shades are fairly similar to each other too. Perhaps a slightly more pigmented antique gold shade would serve as the bridge between the brighter corals and the matte brown shade (which wasn’t all that good).
With so many similar shades in palettes around now, it would have to be sterling and this, sadly, is not.
I really do adore the Dior 5 Couleurs pallets, the texture of the shadows is unlike any other. This might have to go on my wishlist!!
Maybe it´s just me but I fail to see the “pink” in the glow. When you say pink glow this is not what would come to my mind, but more of a cooler color story.
I grabbed this quint along with its matching eyeliner when it first hit the market a while back (along with every other one that Dior dropped this year – with the exception of Night Bird, which I am still salty about, and that’s truly only because I have yet to find a retailer that has had it in stock to purchase from).
The colors are beautiful for daytime wear. I prefer my Chanel/Dior/Tom for day looks, and Natasha/Pat (and now, through the discovery of your blog, Terra/Sydney/Temptalia). This quint’s pink hues, particularly when paired with the eyeliner, wear in such a way that is much more sophisticated/elegant than a typical pink palette, all while totally professional at the same time (while I’m not sure I can say the same of my other pink looks with the other palettes I own 😂🤪🤣).
