Dior Lady Diorific Vernis Review, Photos, Swatches
Dior Lady Diorific Vernis
The Lady in White
Dior Lady Diorific Vernis ($26.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a bright, neutral white with metallic shimmer. Urban Decay Love Train is slightly pink-hued. MAC Frayed to Order is also pink-toned and dries to a matte finish. Chanel Pearl Drop is yellow-hued. Nubar Organza is very similar. China Glaze Frosty is similar in base color but it has silvery-white sparkle, so it does not have the metallic finish (or resulting brush strokes).
The most concerning drawback about Lady is its streaky, brush-stroke-riddled finish. It has a slightly thicker consistency, which doesn’t help matters, as it makes for a rather uneven application as the polish had a tendency to dribble to the edges of the nail. There was some leveling but not enough. It’s semi-opaque after two coats but some places looked more semi-sheer. It took a bit longer to dry, and it’s a formula that you need to wait for the first coat to really dry down before applying the next, as it will pull and drag the first coat otherwise. I typically get a week of wear out of Dior’s formula with no chipping, just minor tip wear.
P.S. — I know a few readers asked for brush photos, and I’m working on it, but this is what (usually) happens: I take too long and the review doesn’t go up. So, hoping to snap one next photo/swatch session, but until then, the ever-lovely Musings of a Muse has some! 🙂

Just remember, streaky and frosty Chanel and Dior polishes have “ribbons of shimmer” like certain indies have “intentionally bleeding glitter.” Haha!
Sometimes I can dig the look – when they really look like metallic threads, which assumes they go on fairly uniformly/straight – but when they’re all wonky, it kills any potential for that “look.” Haha!
It makes me giggle when a high-end brand lets something out with characteristics that us aficionados associate with cheap stuff. Honestly, frosty doesn’t bother me too much, only when it is hard to apply evenly. Another recent controversial high-end polish was Chanel’s Sky Line. Some folks love it for it’s unique periwinkle shade, others hate it for it’s sometimes streaky application. It’s either avant garde or looks like something Pure Ice would sell at Walmart for $2, depending on your perspective. Hence the play on viewpoints in my original comment.
I’m going to have to say I’m in the camp of hate it when it comes to Sky Line, LOL!
Have you gotten a chance to try it? I am amazed at how that polish responds in so many ways for different swatchers.
I have, and it’s extremely streaky and shows brushstrokes endlessly – and they’re all over the place.
The kind of nail enamel that drives me crazy when applying. Pass. I think these beautiful bottles would look pretty slick with some A England enamels. I may buy more than one just for the bottles and keep a spare Dior brush, my fav, on hand for application.
Too bad the formula isn’t amazing because it looks gorgeous.
It looks very much like Chanel’s Attraction perhaps a bit more sheer. Those bottles are so gorgeous though.
Disappointing… I guess I’ll stick with the black one!
I’ve never been a nail polish person…I take good care of my nails and so on but I have never spent say 5-6 dollars on nail polishes…I think it’s a waste of time to spend so much money on nail polishes…and at 26 dollars, this one should be amazing, not below average…
I’ll stick with RBL’s Moxie, and it’s cheaper too >.>
Moxie is a frosty white on another level! Glad I’m not alone in my love for it! It’s so glory and golden!
Gosh these bottles KILL me–but the polishes inside are just “meh”. I’m a packaging whore–but I don’t know if I’m THAT much of a packaging whore to buy this just to look pretty on my vanity 😛
What a shame because the color is beautiful!
This looks just like OPI’s Kyoto Pearl!
idk frost polish always has streaks, doesn’t it?
