Dior Emerald (347) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Emerald (347)
Dior Emerald (347) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette ($63.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition green-hued set of shades for the holidays. For a Dior palette, it was surprisingly good, but there were two under-performing shades (center and bottom right). I think the sheerness of the deepest may make it easier to work with it gradually for some, so that might not be a deal-breaker for anyone who prefers their deeper shades to have buildable coverage. The center shade was far stiffer than it should have been, though.

LELimited Edition. $63.00.
Emerald #1
Emerald #1 is a light, lemony yellow with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good pigmentation with a denser texture that was smooth and blendable but needed a heavier hand or denser brush than past Dior eyeshadows. The eyeshadow lasted for eight hours on me.

Emerald #2
Emerald #2 is a very light green with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. The consistency was smooth, dense and didn’t kick up any excess product in the pan, but it was still very blendable on the lid. It had opaque coverage that wore well for eight hours on me.

Emerald #3
Emerald #3 is a blackened, greenish-teal with subtle, warm undertones and cooler, emerald shimmer. It had a firmer, denser texture that was harder to blend out and to apply evenly to the lid. I found a dampened brush worked a lot better with this particular shade. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that lasted for seven and a half hours on me with slight fallout over time.

Emerald #4
Emerald #4 is a light-medium chartreuse with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had excellent pigmentation with a soft, smooth consistency that was dense without being too firm or too stiff to work with. This shade started to fade noticeably after eight hours of wear.

Emerald #5
Emerald #5 is a blackened green with finer, medium and dark green pearl. It had medium, buildable color payoff that was soft, lightly dusty, and fairly blendable on the lid, but there was some fallout during application. The eyeshadow stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me.

Stunning eye look! The product is stunning to look at, and the colors go so well together, but I don’t think there’s enough pigment to hold up on my oily lids even with primer
Thanks for your review on this. I’ve been back and forth as to whether I want this or the other Dior palette. I honestly still don’t know though. This may be one for when the sales start dropping. Sadly I don’t think Sephora has this yet or I’d probably add it to my 20% off order for the 11/3 Rouge Sale. But maybe they will by then…
Here in Canada, Sephora doesn’t get a lot of the Dior quints. I have checked there over and over for the Feel 5-pan, which is permanent and it’s neither in-store nor online. Shoppers Drug Mart didn’t get it either so I’m wondering if it’s exclusive to department stores, which is where I got mine. The same was true with the Bonne Etoile 5-pan a few years ago (though that was LE and Feel isn’t).
Still use an old Dior quint, think the name is Airy Green. It’s drabber and silver leaning. Must be time for an update! The yellow lean is fun, and your look, as usual, is great. Hope you’re getting enough sleep….checking wear time alone is enough to keep you up 24/7. Your work ethic is not only admirable, it’s incredible. Thanks for everything, esp this season.
Oh, man – those colors are STUNNING!
I passed on this one after swatching just two shades, the center and bottom right one! They were the shades I was most attracted to so I was disappointed.
For this price, it should be an A+. But it’s so nice to see a palette that’s different from the usual warm shades that have been dominating lately. I hope we see more cool shades, but with reasonable prices and higher ratings!
Shame to see the two shades that make this palette perform so poorly! I did pick up the Ruby palette though after seeing your swatches and review!
More than a little bit tempting for me….that eye look in particular, pretty much sells this palette to me! This is one of those situations where I need to take inventory of whether or not I have enough good quality dupes to do something in a similar shade scheme. If not, then I may just spring for this quint!
These colours are a bit off for my tastes and my colouring but it is SO nice to see something that isn’t all orange and red and I am still gob-smacked by how beautifully these are presented!
This is one of the rare times that I ordered a palette without waiting for your reviews and overall, I am not sorry. I will manage to work with it. I do wish it was a cooler palette of greens but at this point I will take what I can get. I also ordered the Ruby palette. I thought about waiting and hoping it showed up at Sephora in time for the upcoming sale but decided not to chance it. The eye look you created is stunning Christine. So pretty. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful eye look Christine and I am glad to see a Dior palette rate reasonably well.
Now to the palette:
Shades 1 & 4 are too alike for me and not colours I would use
The green shades, the most interesting, are the ones that score the least – a shame, as they could have been sensational.
Thank you so much for reviewing this palette so quickly Christine.
Gorgeous colors, but for the price it’s got to perform better.
I purchased both new eyeshadow palettes by Dior, Ruby and Emerald and love the both. The center color in the Emerald palette, as suggested by the makeup artist at the Dior counter, I use as an accent color lightly applied over the chartreuse color to give it dimension. I do always use eye primer. Urban Decay is my favorite. I have a lot of gold green in my medium brown eyes and this palette really brings those colors out.
The colors that appealed to me the most, Emerald #3 and #5 do not look great so this set is not for me.
