Dior Belle de Nuit Rouge (841) Dior Lip Color ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a fiery orange-red with copper micro-shimmer. It’s more orange than it is red, almost like a coral-red, but more orange than coral!  The color coverage is mostly opaque, and the texture is creamy enough to allow the color to glide on evenly without skipping but not so creamy that it moves around.  This is totally my kind of color (but I’m starting to wonder what lip color family I don’t have some love for). Make Up For Ever #20 is a little redder but doesn’t have the copper shimmer. It’s actually similar, though deeper in color, to Chanel Mandarin. The new-for-the-holidays NARS Joyous Red is more muted, less red, and not as shimmered. CoverGirl Temptation is a touch more orange but still very similar.

Belle de Nuit is supremely long-wearing; it lasts for six full hours on my lips and proceeds to linger around for another two; at eight hours, it reaches that halfway point where it’s faded enough to be reapplied but if you’ve forgotten the tube at home, you still have a bit left on your lips. The best part about the long-wear is that my lips don’t feel chapped, dry, or otherwise dehydrated, which is impressive after eight hours.  Too bad this shade is limited edition!

That’s what I was thinking, too, but then I was like… well maybe it’s like belle of the ball kind of deal and it’s just a standout shade.

I bought this about a week ago and I adore it. The formula is outstanding (soooo creamy) and stays in place all day. The color is one I could wear all day and feel totally comfortable in. Unlike Christine, I have more of a neutral/cool skin tone, but still find this quite flattering. However, it wears more red on me.

YAY! I picked this up a couple of weeks ago in the hopes that it’d work on me but to be honest I was waiting to see if you reviewed it first before I opened it :D. Now I can, I think this will be my Thanksgiving dinner shade 🙂

I love this and planning on picking it up with my Boots advantage card points later this week. I’ve already got 3 of these lipsticks (Nocturne, Fantasque and Constellation) and they are all so lovely!

between this lippie and chanel mandarin rouge allure laque…
which do u prefer better and why? i’m deciding which one to get with my gift cards 🙂

Nightclubs. The streets of Paris. Get all dressed up to go out- That’s what Belle de Nuit means. Goth was a thing in high school but Big Girls wear red lipstick and shimmering cocktail dresses after dark. Gorgeous beaded purses and evening shoes with rhinestones? Which are also in the stores. Who said Glamour had stopped at sundown? This is a color of the gestalt right now; Morange (bright orange) has been flying out of a lot of MACs which I only know because I got the last one in the city. Wear it over a full lip of red pencil and it’s close to this. It wishes! We all know the Dior is better lol.
This is worth a stop at Dior. Gorgeous! And it will wear until next fall easily. I think this year will be Everything Goes.

Belle de Nuit is Gorgeous! It really works with my olive/mediterranean skin tone, it’s also perfect with vernis “Merveille” (651), I love both of them, maybe because I love Dior make up!

This one might be my favorite from the four. I think they released additional shades for the collection in Europe, though! => http://www.escentual.com/blog/2011/11/01/swatches-of-the-dior-les-rouges-or-christmas-collection-2011/

We got Fantasque here in Australia, and I actually saw the rest of the shades listed on the US Dior website, but they’re all “momentarily unavailable”. Shame, because Cinderella looks like a very pretty shade! => http://beautyswatch.com/2011/11/dior-rouge-dior-lipstick-cinderella-451/

It sure is. I’m not sure if they’re planning to bring the shades to the US market or not, since they did list them on the site (albeit unavailable), but nowhere else. o.O
