Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Palettes | Swatches x5 (Part 2!)

Here are swatches of five more of the Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Palettes ($62.00 each); there are three more, I believe, but these were the ones in stock when I purchased them.

There’s a nod to history here. Dior’s ‘New Look’ was what revolutionized fashion after the scrimp and save years of WWII. 70 years….There’s a Met (museum, not opera) collection, iirc. I like the plum tulle best, as it avoids the ubiquitous black. BB 1 and PT 4 are on my current shade street. Thanks for the swatches.
Back in the late 80’s or early 90’s, Vogue sewing patterns had a modernized version of his New Look suit – the full skirt, the fitted, feminine jacket. A friend of mine had the pattern and it was lovely but it fell to pieces with heavy use (I’ve now taught her the advantages of pattern tracing fabric).
All of them are a nod to history.
As for New Look, it has featured in several of their makeup products. A lipstick and a nail polish at least.
OMG Dior is back!!! Eeeeek!!!! These swatches look awesome! I’m so glad they’re using a better shadow formula now. The last time I bought a Dior quint was maybe 5 years ago? Then they reformulated, and the shadows were awful. I wish they had combined Black Bow and Plum Tulle together in 1 palette but of the two, I like Plum Tulle more. Hope they test well!
Oh my – my heart is racing at Jungle, New Look and Cashmere. How BEAUTIFUL!!!! Christine, are these permanent?
As far as I know, they are permanent.
Good to know – so no huge rush to get out in hopes of seeing them “in the flesh”, so to speak.
I have these 3 and they are really amazing.
New Look and Soft Cashmere are gorgeous. I still have my VERY old and well-loved Earth Reflection quint, and maybe one of these puppies can be a spiritual replacement for that one.
Love the look of Plum Tulle! :o)
These are flipping gorgeous! Plum Tulle in particular has my purple/plum loving little heart. But I also love New Look and Jungle, too. The quality on these looks very solid, plus, I love how beautifully curated these are.
In other words, they’re all gorgeous and most of us will struggle to narrow down our choices to 2 or 3 and even then, we’ll be taking a hit in the wallet!
Amazing to see Dior shades that look promising, it has been a while. 🙂
These look really good.
I used to have such a soft spot for the Dior quints – Mystic Jade was my first ever high end purchase when I was 18 and I used Crush Glow on my wedding day 8 years ago… and Petal Shine, swoon!!!
These are really nice. I don’t need them but Soft Cashmere would be an amazing taupe palette and if Jungle had a different green, I’d be hard pressed to pass it up. I think Black Bow is quite lovely with those Steel Grays. And of course New look is amazing.
These all look so beautiful, and I’ve definitely got my eye on New Look to be my first Dior purchase if it rates well.
I have officially graduated to buying dior. Ever since I started collecting makeup 10 years ago I always wanted a dior quint. I remember as a broke college student wanting the Dior Incognito quint. I am still not rich by any means but I have paid off all my debt from school and medical, so at long last I am able to splurge. I ordered Dior Tutu. Although you did not have swatches of that particular palette… I felt secure enough in the quality of the swatches of the other palettes to go ahead and spring for it.
New Look is permanent? I was told it wasn’t, it was some odd asian release that may be exclusive to some stores. I wish it was permanent. I want it.
The press release didn’t indicate any were limited edition, and 13, including New Look, are part of Dior.com’s launch.
These are flipping gorgeous!
