Cult Nails Princess Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

Cult Nails Princess Nail Lacquer
Cult Nails Princess Nail Lacquer

Cult Nails Princess Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is a light-medium dusty blue with a subtle pink-copper shimmer. Chanel Coco Blue is darker, bluer. Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle is darker, grayer. Butter London Lady Muck is darker, grayer, and has silver shimmer. Chanel Riva is lighter, less blue.  None of these comes close, though–not even in the base color–let alone having the coppery shimmer. A lot of times you’ll find something that has a similar base color, but I couldn’t think of anything that was even close to being a dupe.

I’m definitely a fan of the Cult Nails brand, particularly because Maria keeps coming out with shades where I get to say, “I couldn’t think of a dupe for this!” as part of my review.  It’s tough to be original in such an over-saturated industry, so it is very much appreciated.  The formula is long-wearing–a full seven days or longer–with very minor tip wear and no chipping.  Princess was fully opaque after two coats of polish, and it had good flow and wasn’t too thick or too thin.

Hi Christine,

This reminds me a lot of Sinful Colors “Cinderella” polish.  It’s a brighter blue, but it, too, has the coppery pink micro glitter in it.   It actually looks a lot like the blue on Cinderella’s dress.

I happen to think Cult’s version is a nicer color on me–more subdued and soft.  I just wish the shimmer was more apparent on the nail like it is with Sinful Color’s polish.

Yes! Cinderella’s dress! That’s exactly what it reminds me of! So pretty! I’m loving this collection! Ultra pretty, Cult Nails is one of my favorites!

What about Sinful Colors- Cinderella as a dupe? I think it’s more of a lighter blue, but the shimmer is the same. And it’s only $2 or even $1 is you catch a sale!

Very pretty ! I am wearing Essie ” bikini so teeny ” but this one is really different, with tiny pink sparkles looks just very nice.

i rarely look at a nail polish and have a gut feeling that i must absolutely have it. this is so pretty and so like cinderella’s ballgown. i love it!

Thanks so much for reviewing this one! I’ve been considering picking it up but I wasn’t sure how visible the shimmer was, now that I know I’ll probably just make a custom but add more shimmer than this 😡 If I didn’t have the materials to make it I would definitely buy it, It’s such a fantastic color!

You’re really selling this to me girl. Cinderella was my favorite fairytale and this does look like her dress from the movie!

actually cinderella is more lighter and brighter, and the shimmer in cinderella isn’t nearly as fine as the one in CN princess 🙂 The formula of CN’s is much better too.

@bankotsufan Cinderella is more of a yellow blue, where this is gray blue. I went home and checked my bottle and realized the difference.
