ColourPop Splash Zone Crème Gel Liner Duo ($14.00 for 0.02 oz.) includes a matte, rich yellow and a semi-matte cobalt blue. Both shades were pigmented, comfortable to work with, and long-wearing–hurrah! finally! a good eyeliner duo from ColourPop.

Step Back
Step Back is a rich, deeper yellow with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy without being too wet, so it glided across my lash line comfortably but didn’t settle into fine lines as it dried down. It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for eight hours on me.

Top Dupes
- ColourPop Marigold (LE, $7.00) (100% similar).
- Lethal Cosmetics Treble (P, $15.50) is lighter, cooler (90% similar).
Formula Overview
$7.00/0.007 oz. - $1000.00 Per Ounce
The updated formula is supposed to have "18-hour" wear that is waterproof and be "super pigmented" for both the lash line as well as the waterline. The brand stated that the formula will set "after around 10 seconds." Many shades had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage, but some shades had uneven, sheerer coverage that did not layer well, so they were more challenging to apply and to use.
The majority of shades were creamy enough to glide across the lash line without tugging or pulling, though a few shades were stiffer, more prone to breaking or dragging.
The formula seemed water-resistant based on testing with water, but the wear was more like 10 to 13 hours (depending on the shade) rather than 18 hours of solid wear. A lot of the shimmer shades lasted four to six hours on the waterline, while more matte shades tended to last five to seven hours on my waterline. These are long-wearing times for a pencil eyeliner, generally, but they are a fair bit short of the 18-hours claimed so a lot of shades rated lower than they might seem if you aren't a stickler for 18-hour wear!

Floater
Floater is a bright, cobalt blue with strong, cool undertones and a barely-there pearl over a more matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which built up to full coverage as I applied it in short, overlapping strokes. The texture was smooth with enough glide that it was comfortable to work with. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before thinning visibly.

Have a feeling that yellow/gold would look ghastly on me! I do like the blue shade though. Wonder who I can give the yellow one to!
Floater is one amazing vivid blue! Gorgeous!
I love bold blues, yellow doesn’t go with my coloring so much though.
This might actually be worth picking up…
