ColourPop x Hocus Pocus Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes Reviews & Swatches

Calming Circle
ColourPop Calming Circle Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a deeper peach with moderate, warm orange undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly across my lips without emphasizing my lip texture, though there was a bit that settled into my deeper lip lines. It wasn’t noticeable in person, thankfully.
The texture was smooth, like a velvety cream with moderate slip that was comfortable to apply and to wear. It stayed on well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$8.00/0.24 oz. - $33.33 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be a "hybrid" product that has the "colour of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm" in a "creamy matte finish." They described the coverage as "buildable." They feature a flexible, doe-foot applicator that has a more rounded side and a more slanted, triangular side (the latter worked well for getting crisper lines of color).
The product had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single pull of product, though one could certainly use just one side's worth of the applicator product to achieve sheerer, more buildable coverage if desired.
The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread across my lips and kept it comfortable to wear. It wasn't clingy, but there was a bit of adhesion without tackiness, the kind I tend to find is present with more velvety, silicone-heavy formulas like this one.
It has a more cream-like finish that wears down to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don't have a full dry-down, so they are not transfer-resistant or ultra long-wearing. They lasted between four and six hours with deeper, more red-toned shades tending to last the longest and leaving behind light stains. They were lightly hydrating over time. There didn't appear to be a scent, and there was no taste.
They are much lighter-weight and less "wet" in feel going on initially compared to the brand's prior Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered more and was very long-wearing, and while not initially transfer-resistant, it was more transfer-resistant after an hour or two of wear.

Tonight We Fly
ColourPop Tonight We Fly Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a deep, eggplant purple with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had medium, somewhat buildable pigmentation paired with a creamy, very lightweight texture that had good spreadability but was emollient enough that it wasn’t the most even shade to work with. It lasted well for five hours, left a stain behind, and felt lightly moisturizing.

Hello Boys
ColourPop Hello Boys Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a deep, inky black with neutral undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which could be built up with additional product where needed for opaque results.
The texture was smooth, velvety, and moderately creamy with a feather-light feel, but it had some slip, so I found it was easier to wear this contrasting shade by blotting lightly after the initial application. It wore well for four and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating while worn.

Because I do have UD Troublemaker, which I love this time of year, I don’t need Tonight We Fly. But, WOW, what a gorgeous shade of rich purple lipstick! 💜
Now, that dark purple loveliness that is Tonight We Fly! Wow! I think I need to take MAC Cyber for an outing. 🙂
