ColourPop x Hello Kitty Pineapple Cake Quad Review & Swatches

Pineapple Cake
ColourPop Pineapple Cake Pressed Powder Quad ($12.00 for 0.12 oz.) includes two shimmery shades and two matte shades. This quad was very tonal, and while there was some change in depth, the colors definitely were more prone to running together and losing their contrast applied. All four shades had semi-opaque to opaque coverage and lasted for eight hours with one shade (To the Core) requiring more effort to apply well.
Ingredients

Pineapple Cake
LELimited Edition.

Sandy (Pineapple Cake)
Sandy (Pineapple Cake) is a light yellow with subtle, warm undertones and a green-gold shifting shimmer. It had rich pigmentation with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t too firmly pressed into the pan but wasn’t prone to fallout. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Sandy (Pineapple Cake)
LELimited Edition. $4.50.

La Pina
La Pina is a bright, medium yellow with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic finish. It was less warm-toned (less orange-based) compared to most shimmery yellows. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and dense without being too thick, so I didn’t struggle to pick up product on a dry brush, though it did go on more smoothly with a fingertip or dampened brush. It had opaque coverage that lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

La Pina
LELimited Edition. $4.50.

To the Core
To the Core is a medium yellow with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The texture was soft, somewhat powdery, and a little thinner, so it could have applied more evenly to bare skin. I’d use this one over a primer ideally. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

To the Core
LELimited Edition. $4.50.

So Sweet
So Sweet is a medium-dark yellow with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a soft, smooth consistency that was lightly powdery in the pan but had good adhesion to bare skin and wasn’t prone to sheering out too readily. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours and left a bit of a stain behind.

Okay, so I LOVE Sandy and So Sweet very much. But it just for those two phenomenal yellows that I don’t have repped in my stash or pass? 🤔
Agreed! And, I just can’t justify it since I do a “yellow monochrome” look, maybe, once a year if that?
I have to say that CP has done these little quads quite well – and yellow is really hard to get right.
