ColourPop x Disney Fairytale Moment Super Shock Shadow Set Reviews & Swatches
So This is Love
ColourPop So This is Love Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a soft, lighter taupe with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a smooth lightly creamy texture that felt a bit wet to the touch but did not slide around on my skin. I didn’t have any trouble diffusing or blending out the edges. It stayed on well for 10 hours without fading or creasing.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.
From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).
The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they're often buildable. They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.
The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply. Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter. They do, however, tend to have little fallout over time with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most powder eyeshadows with glitter).

Almost There
ColourPop Almost There Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones paired with sparkling, metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that was easy to apply and blend out without losing opacity (if desired). If I blended too much after it had dried down on my lid, some of the sparkles came loose. It wore well for 10 hours with slight fallout over time but no creasing or fading.

A Whole New World
ColourPop A Whole New World Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium lavender with subtle, cool undertones and flecks of blue and lighter blue sparkle. It worked best as a layering shade on top of other eyeshadows or eyeliner as it was more medium in coverage and somewhat patchy, so it did not work that well on its own. The eyeshadow did, however, stay on well for 10 hours without creasing or fading and had minimal migration of sparkle over time.

Be Our Guest
ColourPop Be Our Guest Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium pink with warmer undertones and cooler, iridescent pearl and faint sparkle. It had a drier consistency to the touch that did not seem to apply as evenly to my lid–somewhat patchy and difficult to maintain opaque coverage. It had opaque pigmentation if I applied it in a single layer and did not make any attempt to blend it out. It lasted for nine hours on me before fading noticeably.

These look a bit like the MAC electric cool shadows (bring them back!), do they perform like them at all?
Of course my two favorites scored lowest. I’ll probably still get them anyway. lol
Rachel, you and me both! I’ll probably use the A Whole New World over a matte or satin deep purple and call it a day anyway.
So This is Love – is a perfectly beautiful soft taupe and I also really like Almost There. Stunning shades and a lovely eye look Christine.
You must be pleased — you got to play with a taupe. 😉
I do like the looks of both So This Is Love and and Almost There.
The first two shades are fairly well duped for me, but because Disney Princesses? I’m probably getting them anyhow.
And then there’s the 2 shades of the 4 you have that I fell for. 1 C, 1 B+. Getting those, too!
What I just wrote above sounds like I’ve done lost my mind! And I just may have, at that. ?
So This Is Love is so pretty, but I already own similar shades…but I do love the castle design on the lid!
I grabbed So This Is Love, Almost There, & A Whole New World. I love the super shock shadows b/c all I have to do is pop a matte in the crease and then use a super shock on my lid and I have an easy, no fuss glam look.
