ColourPop Uh-Huh Honey Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

ColourPop Uh-Huh Honey 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette

ColourPop Uh-Huh Honey Eyeshadow Palette launched earlier this week, and it’s their take on a monochromatic yellow palette. It includes a mix of matte and shimmer shades along with a pressed glitter (which is “not intended for use in the immediate eye area”). Here are swatches!

I’m surprised by just how close a couple of these are to each other. Still, I can’t stand pink tones on my eyelids, and I feel like I’ve been suffering through a few years of “warm tones = pink,” so hooray for this yellow alternative! It speaks to me. For this price, I don’t mind the repeats.

Is it only that one glitter shade that’s marked as not eye safe?

I am so drawn to this, even though I’ve never worn yellow eyeshadow and some of the shades seem kind of same-y. The shimmers look beautiful, but I’m disappointed by the Buzzkill swatch, which would have made this purchase a lock for me. Hmmm.

Agreed! I love the idea of this, and a bunch of the shades are really up my alley, but the thing a lot of these monochrome palettes suffer from is lack of contrast.

What’s with the not eye safe glitter?! Oh, ColourPop. Why do you hurt us so? lol. In this case, that glitter would work really well as a body glitter so that’s what I’d use it for. The rest of the palette is stunning. I only have a few yellow eye shadows so I’m really tempted to get this.

I’ve really been looking forward to this one! I’m only slightly disappointed that there’s no yellow ocher (it’s a warm darker mustardy yellow, maybe a hint of green, often the color of really clay-y mud. It’s an amazingly versatile paint color and I almost never see it in cosmetics – possibly Mochi by Melt or Dijon by ND, but since I own neither, I can’t really say), but I’m mostly happy that they didn’t wimp out and make it all tasteful golds. I might be alone in really liking the glitter and being glad that buzz kill is the only brown, but the one I’d replace with ocher is queen bee. It just feels off to me.

This palette makes me happy, even though I can’t picture wearing only yellow around the eye. Still, almost tempting just to get it and leave it on my dresser so it makes me smile each day. For the glitter, I wonder if it’s to be used on the side of the eye like…I think maybe it was Burberry…did a couple of years ago. It wasn’t put on the eye, instead they put glitter and sequins on the side of the eye and going down onto the cheekbone or out toward the temple. It would be a cool look for Summer. 🙂

There is absolutely no need at all for a brand to put out a shade that is recommended as not eye safe.
As to the palette, like with the blue monochrome, I think more than a few shades are similar to each other and you would have to reach into other palettes to add to the look.

Omg such a cool palette! I love that colourpop goes to a different level to release interesting items. Unfortunately they have bismuth in their shimmers and I can’t use their eye palettes, but I hope they release some of these mattes in singles! I agree there should’ve been one very pale lemony color and someone else’s suggestion for a dijon mustardy clay color would’ve beeen aweeeesome!

I love and wear yellow (and gold) and was really looking forward to CP doing a yellow palette. In fact, if I had to pick my 5 favorite all time eye shadows, making that list would be a By Terry long ago discontinued shade that is a pale dirty yellow with a little shimmer– so gorgeous. So the problem for me is that I have a number of yellows as singles (from Sisley, Jouer, Shu Uemura, Colour Pop, Viseart), and in certain palettes, like Ace Beaute’s Classical Palette which has a yellow theme, as well as a stunning Cle de Peau quad, but they are not all pulled together. Given the similarity between the shades in the Honey palette, and the reality that nearly all of them lean orange, this isn’t giving me that go-to one palette option, nor is it providing 2-3 indispensable colors beyond those I have. For me, it’s like a one color palette and not that wearable. I’m going to cross my fingers for other brands to do copycats that are better. I’m betting on Sydney Grace and Coloured Raine to do it better.

I’m not a yellow eyeshadow kind of person, but if I was this palette would find its way in to my collection.

Although…….Stinger, Sweet Spot, and Oh Beehave are really, *really* similar.
