ColourPop Truth Bomb & First Date Lux Lip Oils Reviews & Swatches

Truth Bomb
ColourPop Truth Bomb Lux Lip Oil ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a light-medium, orange-leaning peach with warm undertones and a shiny, cream finish. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage, which was as described, that applied well to bare lips–it didn’t settle into my lips or appear streaky, which is often an issue for this type of color and finish.
The gloss had a smooth consistency that was non-sticky, comfortable to wear, and spreadable. It wore decently for two hours and felt moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.16 oz. - $62.50 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "sheer kiss of colour" that is "nourishing" and "lightweight." It's a creamy, smooth balm-like gloss with moderate shine that is comfortable to apply and to wear. It did have sheer coverage that applied fairly evenly with little to no settling into my lip lines (better than most glosses!).
They were hydrating while worn, but they only lasted two hours or less on me, which wasn't unexpected based on the texture (no tackiness and thinner than a longer-wearing lip balm). They had a sweet, almost lemony scent to me with no discernible taste.

Truth Bomb
LELimited Edition. $10.00.

First Date
ColourPop First Date Lux Lip Oil ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium, orange-peach with warm undertones and a high–shine, cream finish. It had semi-sheer to medium color coverage–and was actually described as sheer–that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without emphasizing my lip lines, which was impressive for a milkier color like this.
The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and felt hydrating over the two and a half hours it lasted (the lack of longevity was the big “downside” to the formula).

Wasn’t expecting to like either one of these, but man do I love First Date! With wearing masks, I always either do a dry-down liquid matte lipstick or a lighter neutral toned lipgloss. I love the slightly burnt peach I’m seeing in this one. Hey, if it smudges, it won’t be noticable!
The lip oils are a good idea for mask wearing and in winter too. I wouldn’t expect them to last long on the lips due to their oiliness. They look quite comfortable to wear.
