ColourPop Spring 2019 Collection Swatches

The just-launched ColourPop Spring 2019 Collection includes a new palette, six Lux Lipsticks, six Jelly Much Eyeshadows, and five (new) Super Shock Cheek (blushes).

Worth noting, the palette contains one Super Shock Shadow, (Side2Side), along with three shades “not intended for use in the immediate eye area,” which are the two Pressed Glitters (new formula), Prima Drama and Early Mornin’, and a Pressed Pigment, Dream Maker. I was disappointed to see that the Pressed Glitters were not listed as eye-safe and that there was no warning/note on the packaging, just on the website under ingredients.

Why would they put two glitter shadows that are not eye safe in a palette? I don’t get it. The jelly much and lipstick swatches look promising at least.

Hmmm, I’d been eyeing this collection but Melody and Spring Roll (palette), and Doves n’ Roses (jelly) are the only ones that really lure me in, and I’m sure are dupe-able.
Plus, my last order took so long; it just arrived an hour ago and was ordered in February, so I’ll take a pass.

For some unknown reason, pink and lilac eyeshadows are my obsession this year. I have dupes for Big Ego but no e/s similar to Doves N’Roses.

I ordered almost the whole collection and eye safe or not, it’s going all over my eyeballs 😂🤣😂I love it all.

This collection is a pass for me…mostly because I have so many colors like this (besides the more orange-y colors, which I can’t wear). I really want to try the jelly much shadows at some point though…

Interesting that they put a SSS in a powder + glitter palette. Suspect that’ll dry out quickly, without a screw down lid. The glitters look troublesome, in need of fixative. I see this as a departure for CP, that is usually major easy peasy. This selection actually has a difficulty factor! CP sets itself up as a big innovator, and many have complained they’re pretty predictable recently. Tarte broke out of their rut; maybe CP has as well.

CP put out a highlighter palette all 4 shades with the SS formula. I don’t know how they did that, it would be interesting to know if they’ve held up over time.

The lippies and Big Ego have stolen my heart. The palette has a gorgeous design but seems like too little variation (says the girl whose last CP palette purchases were the It’s My Pleasure and Just My Luck palettes, but hey, I’m addicted to purple and I have so few greens).

This palette has me concerned, especially for all the YT’ers whom I’ve *already* watched applying those 2 glitters to their eye lids. I’m hoping that they, and others who also unwittingly did the same thing, are all alright. Or I can guarantee that there will be lawsuits against CP, if not! Thank you for the warning, Christine. I know to steer clear of it then.
I do like a few of the Lux lipsticks. Moody Bloom and Flower Szn, in particular. Love the Jelly Much eyeshadows very much, lol! And, No Vacancy and Yes, She Did SS Cheeks look good, too.

I did the same but kept to my lower lash line… then remembered they launched online and checked… I removed because I don’t want to encourage that – for me, if they’re telling me a glitter isn’t safe for my eyes, then I’m assuming that it’s because it can scratch my cornea and I don’t need anything like that in my life.

Sounds like you just barely dodged a potentially disastrous situation, Christine! Good thing you went back onto their site and spotted that info before any of the glitter got in your eyes. Whew!!! ColourPop NEEDS to put a warning on the packaging for these or pull them off the shelf. I’m really worried that there will be people showing up at ophthalmologists offices with scratched corneas and other serious eye injuries from this palette neglecting to supply a clear warning for those 2 shades.

Yeah, I was really not pleased — it seemed a little large but MAC put out Shiny Pretty eyeshadows that were pretty glittery and those were marketed as eyeshadow, plus CP has all their glittery Super Shocks so I thought I was good, but apparently not 🙁

My makeup addiction is fairly new, so forgive me if this is a silly question, but what would they make eyeshadows but then warn people not to use them near their eyes? Where else are you supposed to use them? If it’s for the eyes why not make them safe for the eyes? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. 🤔

It doesn’t make sense to me either Martha! And I’m not a glitter person so I probably wouldn’t use them anyway, however let’s not forget there’s a pressed pigment that’s ALSO not eye safe masquerading as a shadow in this palette! Bad form, CP, bad form.

I bought the All Tea Lipstick because I loved the color, but the scent gives me a headache. I am very sensitive to all cosmetic scents. Anyone know if they will be scenting all their lipsticks now? It breaks my heart if they do, because I’m sure I have over 100 lipsticks now, but won’t be able to purchase them anymore.

Susan, what is the scent like? And are all their lipsticks scented, or just for this collection? I had the same issue with a YSL lipstick and had to return it.

Three of the five blushed are practically identical worn — one just looks like it was applied more thinly. Photosynth Sis is pretty interesting; so is Tea Thyme (but I know I have a lipstick exactly like that).

What are the products in the photo with the twelve potted colors? That doesn’t seem to jive with the description of the collection.

They re-sent all of their permanent blushes with the press samples (16) – I shot the new five and then 11 of the existing line (because I last swatched + reviewed in 2015).
