ColourPop Super Shock Cheeks (Bronzers)
ColourPop Super Shock Cheeks (Bronzers)

ColourPop Paradise Cove Super Shock Cheek (Bronzer) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “golden beige in a satin finish.” It’s a medium brown with warm, yellow-orange undertones and a lighter gold shimmer-sheen finish. It had nice pigmentation that applied really evenly and smoothly as the texture was creamy enough to make it apply well but still dry down and set to a powder finish. On me, the color stayed on well for eight hours. MAC Delicates (LE, $35.50) is more shimmery. Tarte Park Ave Princess (P, ) is more shimmery. Too Faced Spice (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Delphic (LE, $33.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter, warmer. Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Poolside Super Shock Cheek (Bronzer) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “golden bronze in a satin finish.” It’s a lightly softened, medium-dark bronzy brown with warm, reddish-orange undertones and a golden sheen. It had excellent color payoff, while the consistency was lightly creamy, blendable, and easy to work with. I definitely felt like the more shimmery bronzers were easier to sheer out and diffuse around the edges as they had a little more slip. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me. NARS Craving (Right) (P, ) is warmer. Urban Decay Strip Bronzer (P, ) is warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Gold Dust (P, $65.00) is brighter, warmer. Benefit 10 (Bronzer) (DC, $28.00) is more shimmery, warmer. Tarte Park Ave Princess (P, ) is more shimmery, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Skinny Dip Super Shock Cheek (Bronzer) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “warm tan in a matte finish.” It’s a muted, medium brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff with a fairly smooth, velvety texture that blended out well, but it could have been creamier to work with on the skin. It lasted for eight hours on me. Benefit Hoola (P, $28.00) is darker. Illamasqua Disobey (P, $26.00) is darker. MAC Matte Bronze (LE, $70.00) is warmer. MAC Matte Bronze (P, $25.00) is lighter, cooler. Tarte Park Ave. Princess #2 (LE, ) is warmer. MAC Aphrodite’s Shell (LE, $33.00) is lighter. NARS Laguna (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, warmer. ColourPop Carry-On (P, $8.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Golden Rinse (LE, $35.50) is lighter, more muted, cooler. Urban Decay Naked on the Run Bronzer (LE, ) is brighter, warmer. Dolce and Gabbana Desert (P, $51.00) is lighter, warmer. ColourPop Bon Voyage (P, $8.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Second question – if I am already heavily armed with bronzers like the Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers and a 5-pack of Inglots on the way, are these special enough to buy one or two just to have?

“Paradise Cove and Poolside are just right”, said this raven-tressed Goldilocks! Skinny Dip ain’t too shabby either, at least tone-wise anyhow. I really love that these seem less yellow-y and as a result will neutralize my own yellowish tones. So now Poolside, and quite probably Paradise Cove, will be mine!

One question: which method or carrier does ColourPop use for shipping? Because when I tried to find out on their website, I couldn’t find out whether it’s UPS or US post office. Intending to hopefully place my order tomorrow.

Nancy T Avatar

Thank you! And thank goodness, because my UPS guy has literally thrown my MAC packages at my door! He must hate makeup or something….

So happy these did well! I wish these had been around when I was on a mad hunt for a decent bronzer. Now, I have purchased 2 each of Tom Ford clutch sized and Guerlain. I am happy with those. But, I do love the texture of CoulourPop. I may have to get poolside and then paradise cove in fall.

Hey Christine! You wrote Carry On in the 3rd description instead of Skinny Dip. Just FYI!

I have Skinny Dip and Bon Voyage waiting in my cart. Maybe I’ll just go with Bon Voyage since it has a better grade.

Hi Christine,
Is the last bronzer Carry On or Skinny Dip? (In the review it says carry on but the pictures say skinny dip). I made a recent purchase on ColourPop but didn’t get any bronzers bc I’ve been patiently awaiting for your reviews! 😉 Thanks again for all you do! I never buy anything makeup-wise anymore without your blog!

I’m really having a hard time deciding between Bon Voyage (a little too light maybe), skinny dip (didn’t get the best rating but good color!) and Paradise Cove (maybe too orange and shimmery) for a good bronzer and contour for my light to light-medium w/ neutral to slight olive undertones. Which would you pick of those three Christine? None of them seems perfect but I really wanted to get one of their bronzers on my next order. *sigh*

Ps – for skin tone reference, in my profile picture I’m the girl in the middle with the purple-tipped brown hair 😉
I’ve never been able to figure out how to turn my profile picture straight, it uploaded to your blog sideways (at least it shows it sideways to me).

These bronzers look amazing. Though, I’m really hesitant to try colour pop products due to application. People always recommend using fingers to apply these products. Do the bronzers work well with a fluffy synthetic brush?

P.S. Your third review is labelled as “carry on” when I think it’s supposed to be “skinny dip”.

Sheb Avatar

You look great! 🙂 I bought one of the ColourPop bronzers (Bon Voyage) and I’m really struggling with application. I think I’m just stuck on the fact that the highlighters are so easy to use that the blush/bronzer formula now seems really dry in comparison.

Colourpop is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. Such amazing quality for cheaper than drugstore prices! Bought both Bon Voyage and Paradise Cove and couldn’t be happier.

Now all they need to do is make cream concealer or foundation, and the makeup game is theirs. Full face of Colourpop…imagine.

Do you think Poolside will be too dark for light medium skintone? maybe I should order Carry-On instead? ,I already have Paradise Cove in my wishlist tho and this will be first bronzers I bought in two years LOL I finally hit pan MAC Bronzer!
