ColourPop Intoxicate Super Shock Shadow
ColourPop Intoxicate Super Shock Shadow

ColourPop Intoxicate Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “caramel brown.” It’s a medium-dark, yellowed brown with warm, orange undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, smooth, and creamy consistency that blended out nicely on the skin without sheering out. I had no issues applying it with a brush (MAC 242), but you can also use fingertips if you prefer. It wore well for ten hours without fading or creasing. MAC Clove (LE, $17.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). bareMinerals True Chocolate (LE, ) is darker (90% similar). Givenchy Delicate #2 (PiP, ) is lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Jet Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as an “almost black with the slightest hint of warmth.” It’s a blackened purple with warm, brown edges and a mostly matte finish. It had fairly opaque pigmentation with a smooth consistency that wasn’t wet to the touch, but it wasn’t dry or stiff to use. It does have a tendency to sheer out a bit along the edges and looks more maroon than black unless really layered. The color lasted for ten hours before I noticed any fading. theBalm Matt Batali (LE, $16.00) is warmer (95% similar). MAC Shadowy Lady (LE, $17.00) is warmer (95% similar). Too Faced Tres Chic (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Tarte Glamorous (LE, ) is lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Straight Trippin' (LE, $6.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Tarte Bombshell (LE, ) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Totally Trouble (LE, ) is less shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop Round Trip (LE, $4.50) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Too Faced Jungle Love (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). MAC Dynamic Duo 4 #2 (LE, $17.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). MAC Spellcaster (LE, $17.00) is lighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Both of these shades were released a few months ago, and they are limited edition–they fell through the “cracks” so-to-speak when it came to reviewing in a more timely fashion but are still available, so lucky for me 🙂

I got Raven and Ice from the Rumer has it collection, and I like them. I think Intoxicate would make a nice crease shade if you’re into warmer shadows, and I like how Jet is a warmer black.

Jet performs so much better than Doe A Deer, it’s ridiculous. I haven’t touched the latter of the two since I first opened the former.

I got Jet recently. I actually like the way it sheers out at the edges. The formula of Jet (and the other two that I got at the same time — Doe-a-deer and Bandit — but Jet more so) seems different to me than the mattes I bought last year. They’re smoother, thinner, more instantly powdery (in a good way), but also somehow easier to work with.

These both look really good! And then I realized that I either already have quite a few dupes for Jet, ie; Shadowy Lady, or dupes on my various “wishlist’s”. Soba being on my MAC wishlist, and CP Straight Trippin’ on my CP list! I must REALLY love blackened purples and burgundies.
