ColourPop Intoxicate & Jet Super Shock Shadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches
ColourPop Intoxicate Super Shock Shadow
ColourPop Intoxicate Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “caramel brown.” It’s a medium-dark, yellowed brown with warm, orange undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, smooth, and creamy consistency that blended out nicely on the skin without sheering out. I had no issues applying it with a brush (MAC 242), but you can also use fingertips if you prefer. It wore well for ten hours without fading or creasing. ColourPop Jet Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as an “almost black with the slightest hint of warmth.” It’s a blackened purple with warm, brown edges and a mostly matte finish. It had fairly opaque pigmentation with a smooth consistency that wasn’t wet to the touch, but it wasn’t dry or stiff to use. It does have a tendency to sheer out a bit along the edges and looks more maroon than black unless really layered. The color lasted for ten hours before I noticed any fading. theBalm Matt Batali (LE, $16.00) is warmer (95% similar). MAC Shadowy Lady (LE, $17.00) is warmer (95% similar). ColourPop Straight Trippin' (LE, $6.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Pinkluxe #5 (PiP, ) is more shimmery (90% similar). Smashbox Aubergine (PiP, ) is more muted (90% similar). Both of these shades were released a few months ago, and they are limited edition–they fell through the “cracks” so-to-speak when it came to reviewing in a more timely fashion but are still available, so lucky for me 🙂

I got Raven and Ice from the Rumer has it collection, and I like them. I think Intoxicate would make a nice crease shade if you’re into warmer shadows, and I like how Jet is a warmer black.
They did some cool shades in that launch!
I wish I had bought Jet instead of Doe a Deer. Oh well. Intoxicate looks great but I have enough dupes to last a life time.
Yay for dupes ;D
Jet performs so much better than Doe A Deer, it’s ridiculous. I haven’t touched the latter of the two since I first opened the former.
Nice! I love colors like Intoxicate in the crease. I like how Jet has just a hint of purple.
Intoxicate would be a great crease shade!
I got Jet recently. I actually like the way it sheers out at the edges. The formula of Jet (and the other two that I got at the same time — Doe-a-deer and Bandit — but Jet more so) seems different to me than the mattes I bought last year. They’re smoother, thinner, more instantly powdery (in a good way), but also somehow easier to work with.
Phew! Glad the sheerness ended up working out for you 😀
I have this shadow and it’s pretty decent. It’s a exact dupe for Color pop To-A-T on my lids. If anyone has To-A-T, they’re basically identical.
Thanks, Erica!
These both look really good! And then I realized that I either already have quite a few dupes for Jet, ie; Shadowy Lady, or dupes on my various “wishlist’s”. Soba being on my MAC wishlist, and CP Straight Trippin’ on my CP list! I must REALLY love blackened purples and burgundies.
Haha! Sounds like you do 😉
Jet looks incredible. I love how dark it is but it’s clearly not completely black. I also love the effect at the edge and how awesome it would look blended out.
Happy to hear you’re digging it, Erin!
I’ve been wanting to try ColourPop shadows. This second color is amazing. Unfortunately, I do not own any of the known dupes you listed. That means I may need to make a purchase.
