ColourPop Get Lucky, La La, Eve, Mittens Super Shock Shadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches
ColourPop Get Lucky Super Shock Shadow
ColourPop Get Lucky Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “liquid-like true gold.” It’s a medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. It had very good color payoff that went on smoothly and was easy to work with on the lid as it blended beautifully. The color didn’t show any signs of creasing after ten hours of wear. LORAC Unlimited (P) is brighter. Chanel Rêve d’Orient #3 (LE) is a powder. Tarte No Champagne, No Gain (LE) is a powder. Too Faced Honey Pot (LE, $16.00) is a powder. Milani Bella Sand (02) (P, $3.99) is a powder. Too Faced Crème Brulee (P, $16.00) is less yellow, powder. Sleek MakeUP Meet in Madrid (LE, $9.99) is lighter, powder. NARS Etrusque (LE, $24.00) is darker, powder. MAC Unwind (P, $15.00) is darker, less shimmery, powder. L’Oreal Eternal Sunshine (P, $7.99) is lighter, powder. Lancome Eternal Gold (P, $24.50) is lighter, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop La La Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “true rose gold [with an Ultra Metallic finish].” It’s a muted, coppery-brown with a hint of pink and a frosted, metallic finish. It had rich pigmentation that went on smoothly and evenly, and it was easily applied with a brush or fingertip (whichever method you prefer, really, as the results were the same either way). I wore it for ten hours, and it still looked immaculate after that time period. It is part of the Down With Decorum six-piece set. ColourPop Sequin (P, $5.00) is darker. Anastasia Glisten (P, $12.00) is a powder. Stila Affection (P) is browner, powder. Makeup Geek Roulette (LE, $5.99) is darker, powder. Make Up For Ever D712 Creme Brulee (P, $21.00) is powder. Make Up For Ever D708 Pinky Copper (P, $21.00) is darker, powder. LORAC Unbelievable (P) is more muted, powder. MAC Sexy Eyes (LE, $15.00) is less shimmery, darker, powder. Divergent Peaceful Shimmer (LE) is darker, powder. Urban Decay Trick (P, $18.00) is a powder. Guerlain Les Fauves #4 (LE) is a powder. bareMinerals Imagine (P) is less copper, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop Eve Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “dirty antique gold [with an Ultra Metallic finish].” It’s a rich, bronzy brown with a golden sheen. The color payoff was excellent with rich, full color coverage. The consistency was blendable, smooth, and applied beautifully to the skin, while the color lasted for ten hours without fading or creasing. It is part of the Down With Decorum six-piece set. Burberry Gold #2 (LE) is darker, powder. Makeup Geek Pretentious (P, $5.99) is a powder. Kat Von D Depeche (LE) is warmer, powder. Hello Kitty Chocolate Chip (LE) is lighter, powder. Anastasia Topaz (P, $12.00) is less golden, powder. Make Up For Ever ME658 Golden Brown (P, $21.00) is less khaki, powder. Make Up For Ever D640 Golden Snake (P, $21.00) is darker, powder. LORAC Nude #6 (LE) is powder. Dior Golden Flower #4 (LE) is a powder. Too Faced Buttered Rum (LE, $16.00) is less khaki, powder. MAC Cognac (LE, $15.00) is a powder. MAC Romp (P, $15.00) is less shimmery, darker, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop Mittens Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “deep warm brown [with a matte finish].” It’s a dark, burgundy-brown with warm, red undertones and a satin finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff that was easy to blend, but it is more prone to sheering out compared to the other shades featured in this review. It was easy to blend and work into the crease, though, so it is also forgiving. Once on, the color stayed on well for ten hours. This was a limited edition holiday set that was just released on its own as part of the matte collection. Sephora + Pantone Universe Hot Chocolate (LE) is browner, powder. Anastasia Deep Plum (P, $12.00) is much darker, powder. Make Up For Ever M608 Red Brown (P, $21.00) is darker, powder. NARS Dolomites (Right) (LE, $24.00) is darker, powder. Makeup Geek Bitten (P, $5.99) is redder, powder. MAC Beautyburst (LE, $15.00) is a powder. Guerlain Turandot #3 (LE) is a powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

This is gorgeous on you! One of your prettiest looks ever!
Thank you! 🙂
OMG, the gold shadows (Get Lucky & Eve) are gorgeous! And all A ratings for only $ 5 each? I already have 2 of the dupes, but the pigmentation isn’t as good, so I might consider….
These were so easy to use! Like butter!
Mittens is calling to me!
It is a nice color!
Does anyone know if they are a cruelty free company?
Is there any way you’d consider adding that to your descriptions? I know you share such a wealth of good information (like I check this site almost hourly at work) and it’s probably a lot to manage, but it would be so so so awesome if you could mention if a company is cruelty free and who certified them as it should be on the box. ie. Leaping Bunny certified cruelty free, PETA certified cruelty free, self stated as cruelty free, etc.
It’s not something I feel comfortable with maintaining, as it is also something that changes regularly and often without a lot of fanfare – you really have to be quite plugged into that topic. It’s always best to check the brand’s website to see what they list at the moment you’re interested in them 🙂
ColourPop lists it right on their website: https://colourpop.com/about-colourpop-cosmetics-colorful-makeup/
Totally get it, thank you so much Christine!
Hollie: ColourPop isn’t on the Leaping Bunny or PETA lists, but Phyrra seems to trust them so far (http://phyrra.net/2014/07/colour-pop-review.html). Maybe Jen Mathews from My Beauty Bunny will email them if asked — I’m not confident that I know what to ask yet (I went CF last year). I hope they’re the real deal and just haven’t figured out all the necessary disclosures. Their colors are gorgeous.
I believe they are. The first time I saw ColourPop shadows was on Phyrra’s blog, and she seems to check on products’ cruelty-free status before reviewing/recommending them. I agree with Christine; you might check their site directly, too.
More gorgeousness. Thanks for all the swatches/reviews on ColourPop.
No problem, Rachel!
This is a nice set of warm neutrals. 😉
They were soooo nice to work with!
Ooh La La! 😉
😉
What a gorgeous look u made! I wish these were in a pallete. I would definitely wear the daily. which shade are u wearing that almost looks like is sparkles? Sorry idk why I can’t tell by the description underneath.
Maybe La La? Maybe if you can give me a hint as to where it’s sparkling that you want to know (on the eye) 🙂
I actually like La-La more than I thought I would. I’m not sure I’d wear it but it’s pretty!
Nice! 🙂
I am currently on my third Colourpop order. I am so in love with this brand and for such an affordable price. Thank You for continuing to review Colourpop Christine. It’s at a price point that doesn’t hurt my wallet, LOL!
LOL! I’m right there with you, Deb 🙂
These all look nice! Good to see a consistent range! Eve is my favorite out of the bunch.
These four were SO easy to use!
Mittens might actually be a good eyebrow color for my burgundy-auburn dye job!
That would be interesting! I wonder how well it would wear on the brow!
I really loved the eyelook Christine!! Gah I just realized lala & eve are part of a set! I wish they had it separately as well 🙁
Fingers crossed they’ll get added to the range!
Oooh these look great! Love the look too. 10/10 would wear! 😉
Yayyyy!
I really need to try this brand!
Well-worth trying!
I think Eve might be my favourite of these – there’s just something very Byzantine about that gold. Old gold, in need of a clean, perhaps, but still glistening and rich and gorgeous.
*cough*
Did I mention I have a thing for medieval/Byzantine art?
The look you did is gorgeous!
Thank you, Sylirael!! 🙂
Very beautiful colours – the eye look you did was lovely Christine. I love Get Lucky.
You’re always so sweet! Thank you, Genevieve!
I’ve actually become hesitant to buy any of these because I’m afraid they will dry up. I have powder eye shadows that are ten or fifteen years old, but I feel like there’s no way these would last like that, right? At least they’re cheap, but not really a good investment I feel. Like mascara is something I will replace but I’d hate to throw out eye shadows because I rarely hit pan on them.
Since they’re a cream product, they’re not going to last ten or fifteen years, and even with really sanitary use, I don’t know how safe it would be to keep and use a cream product that old!
Love the look you created, lovely as always! I think that Lala must be my favourite, as I have used it so often!
Aw, thanks as always, Karen 😀
What do you like to pair with La La?
Hi Christine, I’ve been enjoying pairing it with hot totty, as well as dasher! On this past Saturday I paired it with sugarpill lucid, very pretty! I pretty much think it could go with anything!
I became obsessed with Colourpop after one of your blog posts. They are amazing colors, great color pay off and the price is amazing!!! I am quickly acquiring a collection!!!! These shadows are beautiful and the colors look amazing on you.
I’m so glad you’re loving them, too, Lunasol! Nothing makes me happier 🙂
La La and Mittens are so up my alley! I bet they’re really pretty paired together too
They are!

christine , how does la la compare to l’oreal’s infallible e/s in amber rush ?
i went to check in the swatch gallery , but i couldn’t find la la to do a side by side comparison .

They’re so much fun to use! 🙂 I’ve enjoyed testing them thus far!
