Cross Street

ColourPop Cross Street Lux Gloss ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a sheer, translucent peach with flecks of barely-there pearl through a high-shine finish. The texture was smooth, thicker but not heavy with a touch of tackiness. The product applied evenly across my lips and softened my lip lines, though it was definitely one of those products that doesn’t add a ton of color and may look different from person to person due to the sheerness. It wore well for two and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.16 oz. - $50.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "shine" with a "cushiony soft" texture that "hydrates lips." The brand isn't clear on how pigmented or how sheer the formula is intended to be; they instead they have the "perfect amount of colour all in one." Based on what I can infer from promotional images, their marketing, and typical lip gloss claims (in the industry), gloss is typically sheerer coverage rather than opaque, so based on that, I will be rating on the expectation of medium coverage.

The formula has a smooth consistency that was more like a gel-cream, as it felt denser ("cushiony") without being heavy or tacky. I didn't feel like they were the most forgiving, though, as most shades settled into my lip lines to a small degree. The coverage was sheer to semi-sheer, which resulted in the shades looking more similar on than they looked in the tubes (the initial line-up could have been much more diverse as a result). They lasted between two and three hours and were moisturizing to wear.

There was no discernible taste, and they had a sweet, sugary scent.

Eclectic

ColourPop Eclectic Lux Gloss ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a darker, more orange-leaning peach with a creamier base with flecks of gold micro-sparkle throughout. It had semi-sheer to medium color coverage that applied somewhat evenly but settled into my lip lines noticeably. The gloss had a smooth, plush consistency that was thicker but not heavy or tacky to wear. It lasted well for two and a half hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Health Kick

ColourPop Health Kick Lux Gloss ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium, caramel brown with flecks of gold and pink micro-sparkle throughout. It had sheer to semi-sheer color coverage that could have applied more evenly; the color seemed to look darker in some areas and wasn’t as smoothing of my lip lines as it could have been.

The consistency felt smooth, plush, and non-sticky, though it was a thicker gloss overall. This shade stayed on nicely for three hours and felt hydrating while worn.

Health Kick would’ve been nice with a liiittle bit more pigmentation to make it obviously brown.
One of the shades being named Cross Street has me wondering…navigating via cross streets isn’t more common in LA than elsewhere, is it?? Could that name not be used in any collection themed around a significant metro area? Now naming the shade after a specific cross street, that would be another thing. There are some tasty donuts at Santa Monica and 16th.
