ColourPop Crochet, Lattice, Macrame Creme Gel Pencils Reviews & Swatches

Crochet
ColourPop Crochet Crème Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and cooler flecks of icy pink shimmer. It had medium pigmentation, which was somewhat buildable with shorter, more overlapping strokes, but I couldn’t get full coverage. The texture was smooth, emollient without being thick or prone to migrating while setting, but it did make it hard to layer and apply evenly. It wore decently for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Top Dupes
- ColourPop Raindrops (LE, $7.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar).
- About Face Leave Me Breathless (P, $13.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar).
- Urban Decay Galactic (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar).
Formula Overview
$7.00/0.007 oz. - $1000.00 Per Ounce
The updated formula is supposed to have "18-hour" wear that is waterproof and be "super pigmented" for both the lash line as well as the waterline. The brand stated that the formula will set "after around 10 seconds." Many shades had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage, but some shades had uneven, sheerer coverage that did not layer well, so they were more challenging to apply and to use.
The majority of shades were creamy enough to glide across the lash line without tugging or pulling, though a few shades were stiffer, more prone to breaking or dragging.
The formula seemed water-resistant based on testing with water, but the wear was more like 10 to 13 hours (depending on the shade) rather than 18 hours of solid wear. A lot of the shimmer shades lasted four to six hours on the waterline, while more matte shades tended to last five to seven hours on my waterline. These are long-wearing times for a pencil eyeliner, generally, but they are a fair bit short of the 18-hours claimed so a lot of shades rated lower than they might seem if you aren't a stickler for 18-hour wear!

Lattice
ColourPop Lattice Crème Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a light gold with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was smooth, moderately creamy, and soft enough that I’d recommend using a lighter pressure than average to avoid the product coming away in clumps (at times). It had medium pigmentation, which I didn’t find buildable due to the texture, that lasted for seven hours before fading.

Macrame
ColourPop Macrame Crème Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a brighter, orange-copper with moderate, warm undertones and a fine, golden pearl throughout. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that skated across the skin but did not feel too slippery, so it went on evenly. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Crochet is a cute color with not many dupes. Too bad it seems to be a bit touchy to work with. If it could be built up to opaque/full coverage I’d definitely want this one!
Y’know what? I kinda like Macrame! It’s a pretty shade for spring and summer. But I’m still not 100% going to get it.
Those 2 other shades make me wonder who let them outta the barn!
