ColourPop Couplet Palette Review & Swatches
Couplet
ColourPop Couplet 5-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($10.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a new, neutral eyeshadow palette that included three matte eyeshadows and two shimmery eyeshadows. There was a good range of contrast between the shades, so it was more versatile than some of the brand’s other smaller neutral palettes. The quality was consistent with my past experiences using the formulas: pigmented, blendable, and longer-wearing with light powderiness sometimes.
This palette is one of five in a holiday vault, though ColourPop said they would be available individually when I asked, but they have not appeared individually on the site. It’s not realistic for me to review it as a set (takes much longer, but I also started testing them across sets already, and the system is better setup for a palette, not five palettes within a set, for readability!), so I decided to review them individually still.

Epigram
Epigram is a darker, yellowy-peach with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a smooth, almost velvety consistency with light powderiness but delivered opaque color payoff in a single layer, which was blendable along the edges without sheering out too readily. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Rhyme
Rhyme is a light-medium peach with warmer, more orange undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was incredibly soft, almost fragile, so using a light touch was key to avoiding fallout. It had rich color payoff that stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Narrative
Narrative is a light-medium, yellowy brown with muted, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable with light powderiness but not enough to be prone to fallout. It had nearly full color coverage but had to be built up slightly. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Meter
Meter is a muted, medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was slightly drier and more loosely-pressed to the touch, so there was light fallout during application if I wasn’t careful to press it on. It had opaque pigmentation that wore nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Sound
Sound is a dark brown with subtle, warm red undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out without much effort. The texture was smooth, slightly thinner than other shades, but not overly powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear.

This looks really nice, I might pick this one up next time I order from CP. I’m 99% sure I can dupe it in my stash already but there’s a simplicity in having one small (and affordable!) palette that does what you want, especially if I’m travelling!
A really lovely little gem and I like the colour story here. The two shimmery shades are beautiful, especially Meter.
I really love this quintet of shadows! But then I have to 🛑 myself, because I can very likely get there just using Chanel Empriente du Desert with UD Naked Honey and one shade from ND Sunrise, I think? Still, this one is super tempting because it’s all in one place. 🤷🏻♀️
