Colourpop is back to its rapid pace! I love coral. These might be lovely.
On a separate launch note, I kept looking here to see details on Pat McGrath’s x Supreme lipstick launch, and I saw one comment saying it sold out in 15 seconds! I hope you snagged one. I’m curious if I have a MAC dupe because it looked like a beautiful red on the models.
I did not!
I have too many unwanted corals from color pop (they put them in a lot of their palettes) so I definitely am not in need of this shadow. They do corals well in my experience though so this should be a nice one for anyone who loves those types of shades. I love the lid on the cream gel liners and am so happy to see the past couple collections bringing back the old school lip gloss packaging, although it doesn’t look like these are very pigmented just like the last ones. I like the blush a lot from this photo and I don’t have packaging like that with the big mirror so may pick that up (depending on how it swatches since it is hard to tell exact color from this photo). I just panned my favorite blush so do need to replace it. I wish they’d bring out more lip liners – I definitely would have picked up a coral lip liner.
How many collections has CP issued this year? Or, how many in an ‘average’ year? Please look this up. I’d be too afraid to read here, if you had that info in your head, lol.
Them saying it’s a “new color story” is laughable. It pretty much looks like most of their recent color stories. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like the looks of the palette. But the redundancy, though!
Nancy, my eyes rolled so far into the back of my head with the “new color story” claim ?
And coral just isn’t a fall color for me. I get the “changing leaves” colors have been done over and over, but I always really want something super moody that isn’t from KVD or UD.
Indeed their latest releases were all mostly neutral, light and warm like this one.
OK, this stuff looks really, really pretty. Not groundbreaking or new, but pretty!
I like the palette and the blush. Looking forward to the swatches!
Coral isn’t a family I wear well. I do enjoy it as a crease colour though and have sufficient in stash to take a pass. I think this is pretty.. pretty much Colour Pop.
Gosh – Colour Pop sure does love pinky coral shades….although this one could be quite nice if the quality is good.
However, for the brand’s info – coral is not an autumn shade by any stretch of the imagination and I do hope they bring out a lovely, truly autumnal palette (but no reds, pinks or oranges please).
Coral just isn’t a colour for me – it doesn’t suit me and I simply don’t like it. So this is an easy pass for me.
Super pretty, but this looks more like a summer palette than a fall palette… i don’t think I’d buy it because I’m a colourpop Stan and these colors are in so many of their other palettes. But it is a nice concept, just maybe not for fall?
Mica, I totally agree! Coral is a color I begin to look at in the spring and summer time! Right now I was dark, moody colors; deep greens, antique gold, plummy browns…..Hmmm, wouldn’t it be fun if Colourpop would do something like that?!?!
I am a total sucker for anything coral. Can’t wait to see swatches!
This gave me an idea: I feel like I would be more amenable to weekly ColourPop collections if they had a philanthropic tie-in to their themes. Like Chantecaille. I know they’ve made a few Super Shock shadows to benefit Best Friends/No Kill Los Angeles, which were great except for being super-limited, but imagine if they did it every week! A coral collection that can somewhat offset its environmental impact by sending proceeds to reef recovery/restoration programs? Better than nothing.
Taking the time to set up those donations would probably slow them down, though…oops ?
I know they’ve done charitable products with NKLA, and they’ll donate all net profits from select products but it would be cool to see more!
Chantecaille’s lack of transparency on donation amounts–and historically, they have been ridiculously tiny, like 5%–almost negates any “good” I’d feel about their initiatives. Been a sore point for me enough that it makes me less inclined to support/purchase from them.
I’ve wondered about Chantecaille’s percentages. If they were significant, I’d have to imagine the amount would be advertised. It’s sketchy and frankly shameless considering how much philanthropy seems to drive their marketing.
They seem oddly reluctant to disclose, and on its face, lack of disclosure makes me inherently suspicious when it comes to charitable giving/attachments to products for any brand. I never like to see a lack of transparency when they are playing on customer’s sense of “doing good.” It’s just heightened given how expensive Chantecaille products are and how much markup I know exists in makeup. I know for the Lip Cristals, one lipstick sold = one tree planted, so there is at least a metric there.
I have some older posts that have them disclosing 5% of proceeds (net profit) (from launches like Las Papillons, Save the Sharks, Coral Reefs, Sea Turtle), which is at least disclosed–but that is a pretty low amount, so it’s just a nice touch – whereas I do feel Chantecaille makes a big deal and pushes this charitable aspect as why they’re worth purchasing.
This is great to know! Thanks for sharing your research. I donate to a tree charity monthly, and planting only one tree costs just a negligible amount of money.
What org do you use? I donate to these periodically to offset all the packaging I go through from product reviews!
I donate to Tree Sisters after hearing about them from the Guardian! That’s so wonderful to hear, you’ve been giving me life lately!
Thank you!!
Good to know! Chantecaille is out of my price range and not carried by my preferred retailers (the one I work at, lol) so I never looked further into their donations.
It does look like Colourpop keeps releasing collections originally planned for summer, which were held back due to the pandemic.
this collection is beautiful but I have several peach toned palettes already from Colourpop so I’m not sure if I will be picking the palette up. However i will def grab the liners and the cheek products. If you get around to it I would love to see swatches on your skin tone!
Yeah they do a ton of coral in the palettes so I can’t see anyone needing more of that but I am wondering Wha happened to all the cream sponge super shock blushes and the blush sticks and highlighters cuz I could use more of those in some cool tones like blue toned pinks and all. Or a pink palette that is NOT coral LOL.
Definitely a pass for me… not a fan of coral on myself, and it seems like they’re not offering any true mattes in this collection, just mattes with glitter throughout (whyyyyyy?). We’ll see how well it does across skintones, but the blush shade doesn’t seem like it would work for anyone deeper than a medium skintone. I used to love ColourPop, but I’m just over it.
The blush and highlight are super tempting! And the packaging for everything is very cute.
I picked up 6 of the nine pan palettes and just happen to see the coastin highlighter as I was about to check out I’ve seen one review on ot so far and it seems beautiful I cant wait !
