ColourPop Angel Food Pressed Powder Highlighter Review, Photos, Swatches
Angel Food
ColourPop Angel Food Pressed Powder Highlighter ($8.00 for 0.23 oz.) is as soft, light-medium pink with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, soft consistency that was moderately dense but not difficult to apply or to blend out on the skin–it was dense enough just to avoid powderiness in the pan. On my skin tone, a lot of the pinkness seemed to get lost as I diffused and blended it out, but on fairer complexions, I suspect it could also be worn as a shimmering blush. The highlighter wore well for eight hours before fading.
Formula Overview
The powder highlighter is supposed to have a “high-shine” finish with “high colour intensity.” In general, ColourPop’s pressed highlighter powders have a smooth, moderately dense texture that was soft enough to be picked up easily by a brush but not kick up any powder in the pan. The formula was semi-opaque to opaque but easily sheered out for less shine and coverage if desired. There were a few shades within the range that emphasized my skin’s natural texture slightly but most did not. The wear ranged from seven and a half hours to nine hours. View swatches of all shades.
Also: the compacts do not have the shade name printed on the label, but if you pop the physical pan out, there is a label on the back of the pan–but I hope they take note and print the names on the labels going forward.

This is so soft and pretty! And only $8. I might order it today.
It’s a fun one 🙂
I got this highlighter along with a bronzer in their new release and I am really enjoying it, it almost had a bit of a blue-lavender shift on me. I have strong yellow undertones, though, so im wondering if that is the cause, lol
Such a lovely soft pink highlighter! Having MAC Pearl Blossom, I pretty much know I’m covered in this shade dept., so I guess that’s $’s saved. But I *really* love this one!
Oooh, this is purty!!! Nice as a blush topper or highlighter
I’m wearing this today 🙂 I think it’s really pretty!
Mine arrived smashed but I used a bit of IPA to re-press it and while it doesn’t looks as glam in the pan, it still looks gorgeous buffed over a rose cream blush!
I’m so glad you were able to re-press it successfully, CeeBee!!
Let me flaunt my stupidity. What is IPA? All I can think of is India Pale Ale, and clearly you don’t mean that.
IPA in science nerd circles (of which I am a fully certified member) is iso-propyl alcohol.
It’s not a stupid question to ask, I apologize for my short-sightedness in using an acronym that obviously has multiple meanings!
Isopropyl alcohol (sometimes called rubbing alcohol) is often used to clean piercings and is used in certain cosmetics and for a whole bunch of other stuff. It’s less toxic than ethanol or methanol bases but still a bit fume-y.
I just drip it into the busted shadow pan and use a spatula or toothpick to ensure it saturates the powder evenly – some powders may “sift” into different layers, depending on how much mica or other lighter/heavier particles there are – tap the pan gently on an even surface to get any air pockets out and then leave it somewhere flat and well ventilated for a few hours (or overnight) until all the IPA has evaporated.
I have been waiting on someone to review this! Thank you Christine, I don’t know what I’d do without your reviews!
Happy to help, Lori!
Thank you so much for reviewing these 🙂 Can’t wait for the rest!
I bought this one and Boujee Call.I haven’t tried this one out yet so I’m glad it reviewed well because I wasn’t super impressed with Boujee Call.It wasn’t bad but I have better highlighters that are similar in shade.
Christine-on the website they describe this shade as duochrome with a turquoise flip? It looks completely different in your swatches! Do you think it’s duochrome or just a pink highlighter?
