ColourPop Ambition, Hustle, Play Hard, Minty Dream Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches

ColourPop Ambition Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a light taupe with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was a lighter, more powdery product, so it was best applied with a primer underneath.

- Blendable, little fallout
- Long-wearing (7 hours)

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Minty Dream
ColourPop Minty Dream Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a very pale green with warm undertones and a smooth sheen. It was harder to apply due to the overly slippery texture and sheerness, so it might work better as an all-over, sheerer shade.
- Semi-sheer pigmentation, doesn’t build well
- Overly emollient
- Harder to applyl evenly
- Long-wearing (8 hours)

Hustle Hard is gorgeous. I was hoping I’d have dupes but I don’t see any dupes listed….(fingers crossed).
Oh, I see the dupes are up now for Hustle Hard and I’ve got 3 of them (all with a better rating) so I’m good.
Hustle Hard and Play Hard both look like lovely shades! If I didn’t already have ND Glam Midi palette and other similar such shades, I would get both. But, I seriously doubt that I need either one? 🤷🏻‍♀️
I was thinking the same thing, but still feel tempted by these shades, my vanity doesn’t have very good dupes for them.
Now this is disappointing because usually the brand’s singles are pretty good value. I loved Play Hard the best – but reading about the fallout, a common issue with some of CP’s shimmers, would make me think twice about buying it.
The issue was the same with the Stone Fox palette, reviewed a week or so ago. I really like it – wanted to purchase it, but I re-read the reviews and seriously, I just don’t want fall out from my eyeshadows. I may end up getting it, but I have to have a think.
I actually picked a few of these up before your review although I wish I had waited. Hustle Hard was warmer than I expected given the brand called it a “sterling silver”. I do like Play Hard as an inner corner highlight, it’s quite bright. I paired Minty Green with a deeper green shade and used it on the inner lid since it was so light.
