Clionadh Breaker Highlighter Review & Swatches
Breaker
Clionadh Breaker Powder Highlighter ($15.00 for 0.21 oz.) has a transparent base with iridescent, cool violet shimmer and faint sparkle throughout. It had a moderately metallic sheen on my skin, though it was very smooth and reflective, so it didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture.
The texture was soft, smooth, and lightly creamy in the pan, which helped the product adhere evenly to my skin and look more seamless as I buffed and blended it on my skin. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before showing signs of wear.

There's not much that describes the formula other than it has a "soft, buildable application." They tended to be quite pigmented--semi-opaque to fully opaque--with soft, smoother textures that weren't too dense nor too softly-pressed into the pan. For sheerer or more buildable application, I'd highly recommend using a lighter hand a less-dense brush to do so.
The texture was typically smooth, slightly dense and a bit thicker than most powder highlighters on the market, so they often needed to be really buffed and diffused on the skin. The finishes were often more intense, leaning toward metallic, and occasionally, they emphasized my skin's natural texture when worn at higher coverage levels. They wore between eight and nine hours on me for the most part.

Ooooh, I love this one! So beautiful and the cool violet iridescence would be perfect for my complexion. Very happy to see the formula is excellent and wears well. I have dry skin so powders that seem “creamier” in the pan seem to fare well for me. I just wish it were easier/less expensive to purchase from Clionadh. Shipping costs are pretty prohibitive, IMO.
It’s interesting that Indie products have indie dupes and mainstream products have mainstream dupes, at least in HL. That may be expected, but it’s more than that. Indies compete with indies more than they do w/mainstream products. In their efforts to differentiate themselves from mainstream, they wind up having many similarities to their direct competitors.
Beautiful, but definitely not for my skintone. Strangely, I can see this one not only working on very light, cool-toned folks, but also, due to its translucency, also those with richer, cool tones too, ie; Lupita Nyong’o.
Just right, and this type of shade is so dramatic on dark cool tones. I LOVE photos like that. They rise to the level of iconic, in a way that this shade family on light tones do not.
