Peach Pop (02)

Clinique Peach Pop (02) Cheek Pop Blush ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a pink-coral with a satin finish and warm undertones. The texture is soft and blendable, but the smoothness of the color is extraordinary.  It smooths and skims across the skin as if it were a cream blush, but it’s definitely a powder.

If you want a sheer wash of color, it’s easily achieved by using a light tap of the brush into the pan, but it has good, true-to-pan color payoff that can be as intense or as soft as desired, as it blends out so effortlessly.  The finish is lightly luminous, doesn’t emphasize pores, and looks like skin–never powdery.  Peach Pop wore well for eight hours, and then it started to fade.

Formula Overview

$21.00/0.12 oz. - $175.00 Per Ounce

The formula is described as “vibrant yet natural-looking cheek colour that looks virtually powderless.” The texture was smooth, soft, and dense, so it was never powdery in the pan or on the skin. The blush had good color payoff that was easily sheered out (or you could apply less, as the denser texture makes that easy to control).

It’s the kind of texture that almost blends itself as soon as you start applying and working it onto the skin. The finish became more luminous as I blended the powder onto the skin, but it was never shiny or overly shimmery, so it always looked smooth on my skin and did not emphasize pores or my skin’s texture. Most shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Peach is really not a natural colour for me in a blush but I can’t wait to see how the pink one fares in your review and how it looks! I so don’t need a new blush but these are just so darned cute and just the sort of “lift” I’m looking forward to after a really bitter winter!

Ooh that’s lovely on you Christine!! These blushes seem to be irresistible – can’t wait to try them out in stores. By the way, I especially like the bright pop on your eyes.

The day dream shade will surely make me look younger than my age. I’m impressed with the presentation of this pop blush. It’s affordable too and can result into awesome blushes.

I was a “no-blush person” for many, many years. While I did dabble occasionally, I pretty much gave up on it until recently, after 20 years. After finding some shades that *really* worked for me, I’ve totally come around! I think if you find “the one”, you may have a different opinion.

Based on your review yesterday, I went over to Macy’s to check out these blushes. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a Clinique product. I’m a MAC devotee, and buy Nars, Tom Ford, Illamasqua, and Dior blushes. Never have bought anything from E Arden, E Lauder or here. But these are great- thanks for the heads up. I bought the peach. I have to say, they remind me very much of Mally’s airbrushed blushes, which to me are really absolutely the nicest blushes ever, especially if you are not 20. They come with a highlighter also that totally rocks, just FYI. I don’t think she shows them when she’s on tv, but I got bought her peach blush like 4 months ago on her website. This is really nice blush as well. And cute packaging.

Really Christine, is there something that you can’t pull it off. You look beautiful girl. Thank you for your reviews. Every afternoon I wait for my temptalia mail, to keep up with my cosmetics obsession.

Mindy Avatar

So after your announcement that the new Hourglass Ambient blushes are on sale, I bought the five that were available. I think I’ll be purchasing these too, they look so beautiful. I’m thinking I need to go through my collection and make room… Lol

Having trouble finding the ingredients list online – do these have talc as an ingredient? I’m guessing so but wanted to double check! I’m trying to stick to talc-free blushes since the talc breaks me out (no NARS blushes for me 🙁 ).

Caroline Avatar

Thank you!! I wasn’t seeing pics of the boxes on other sites either. And I couldn’t find the ingredients on Clinique’s website (seems strange – maybe I wasn’t trying hard enough!). Guess I shall wait til I can see a package in store… I love both of the ones you reviewed so far – you were right in thinking they’d both be good!

Hi Christine, I love this blush on you! You look so gorgeous and radiant!! I actually recently bought Dior’s Corail Bagatelle, which I know you listed as similar, but lighter. Yet, I’m still tempted to buy this! Would you say that the texture, appearance, etc. of this Clinique blush would justify me purchasing it even though I have Corail Bagatelle?

Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!! 🙂

Wow these blushes are too cute and look so good on you. The flower makes it irresistible.. I hope it will last until one hits pan, but it’s far too cute to hit pan. Maybe I’ll buy one to use and one to admire (LOL). I will have to check them out the next time I go to Sephora or Nodstrom.

Kali Avatar

I thought Ginger Pop was gorgeous, but when I saw this one, I totally lost it. I’ll wait for the reviews, but I might save up and buy all of these… of course, this one being the priority. I love peach blushes.

Ade Avatar

Wow, from your swatch, I think it is more pigmented than NARS Day Dream! Awesome! (a better option for WOC)
I love Marc Jacob Flirt on you, can’t wait for your review about the Matte Lip Gel formula.

KK Avatar

I am not a big fan of Clinique colour range either – I find their lipsticks to blah and blushes to safe in colour (except the Chubby Stick Intense range). But these look gorgeous in pan and on you. Now my real question is – how does one know whether they are actually good coz you look gorgeous in everything Christine! 🙂

I will wait for your reviews on all colours coz i seem to have had my fill of Corals and as you said, this is like Chanel Intonation (which i recently picked on our recommendation!)

Rachel Avatar

I always feel like I should “grow up” and stop using Clinique because I’ve been using it since I was fifteen, but their stuff is just so damn good! This blush is so pretty on you! I must have it! And you can go wrong when they have a gift with purchase!

Christine, your “Temptalia Recommends” stamp of approval is very effective. I don’t need any more blushes, but these look amazing! I’m in love with the cute design as well as the effectiveness of the powder. Also, I had to say that the flower in your earring looked familiar, and I realized that they are the Temptalia logo! How cute! Did you make it?

Jennifer Avatar

Hi Christine, thanks for the awesome review as always. Which of the new clinique blushes would be best for NW20? I only own two blushes (NARS Orgasm and Deep Throat) but these look gorgeous!! Thanks so much.

Sam Avatar

I’m so glad you reviewed these because I’ve had my eyes on them! They look amazing on you! Would you agree that they photograph well? The shimmer looks to be brightening without being over the top sparkle.

Ryou Avatar

I’m surprised I haven’t commented on this. This is absolutely GORGEOUS. I keep going back and reopen this review because I just want to look at it forever. The shade reminds me of Darling Girl Cosmetics loose blush in Neon Trees that I love, maybe a little deeper.

If YOU, the almighty Christine say you’re enamored with the texture of a product, well, I think my wallet should stop screaming now, because I need half a dozen of this shade and maybe the rest of the line. Hey, not being much of a blush person means you tend to get obsessed with a shade or two. 😛

Ryou Avatar

May I ask what your opinion is on the packaging? I’m strongly considering getting Peach Pop, but I’m pretty worried it wouldn’t be able to withstand travel.

Ryou Avatar

That’s very good to know! I thought it looked like drugstore plastic packaging that my frequent travels have obliterated throughout the years, but I’m glad that it’s much sturdier than that. Thank you! 🙂

yenny Avatar

you look so bright and fresh with this color. Thumbs up!
Btw i also adore your lip gel. May i know what shade is that? It looks so gorgeous on you.
