Nude Pop

Clinique Nude Pop Cheek Pop Blush ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium, muted, peach-brown with a soft, shimmery finish and warm undertones. It is definitely one of the lighter, subtler shades in the range–both in the pan and as applied, as the color is true-to-pan–and will be a great option for those with fairer complexions who want something that’s easy to use and won’t require a light hand. On the other side, for deeper skin tones, it may only add a warm-toned sheen overall without adding noticeable color.

I have medium-colored skin with warmer, yellow undertones, and I get subtle color and a luminous sheen that doesn’t emphasize pores. It’s the type of color I’d reach for often when wearing really bold eyes or lips. This is one of the more shimmery Cheek Pops when swatched (think Peach Pop), but it doesn’t look shimmery or frosted on the skin. The texture was soft, smooth, and easily blended on the skin. Every time I use a Cheek Pop, I’m just reminded at how easy it is to use these and get a beautiful finish out of the product. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

$21.00/0.12 oz. - $175.00 Per Ounce

The formula is described as “vibrant yet natural-looking cheek colour that looks virtually powderless.” The texture was smooth, soft, and dense, so it was never powdery in the pan or on the skin. The blush had good color payoff that was easily sheered out (or you could apply less, as the denser texture makes that easy to control).

It’s the kind of texture that almost blends itself as soon as you start applying and working it onto the skin. The finish became more luminous as I blended the powder onto the skin, but it was never shiny or overly shimmery, so it always looked smooth on my skin and did not emphasize pores or my skin’s texture. Most shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

I think it may be too subtle on NC42, but it might be worth trying in-store if you can.

This is perfect – this is what I wish Tarte Exposed was for me. I love Exposed – but it’s sometimes too pink. This might be a must buy.

Amalia Avatar

And on the opposite side , I was hoping for a dupe of Tarte Exposed because Tarte not sell – sent in Greece. How funny! My father was saying, all things have their buyer.

Ginny Avatar

I have been lusting over these from afar but I think I’ll actually get this one! I thought it would be mauvey like Tarte Exposed but I love that it’s more of a warm beige. It looks to me like a darker version of Nars Nico, which I actually use as a subtle bronzer. I think this will really work for me. I have nothing like it and it will pair well with the Poured Rose Gold I just got!

Kelly Avatar

I just got this and MAC Warm Soul is my fave!

Warm Soul is more red-bronzy rather than the Clinique being less red and more tan, and the MAC has bigger chunks of glitter.

I don’t understand. Can I buy it in stores as well? Or is it a Sephora exclusive limited edition? I’m from Europe, I can’t order from Sephora anyway. But I really want this shade.

xamyx Avatar

From what I’ve read elsewhere, Nude & Cola are Sephora “exclusives”, but the others will be sold elsewhere. Perhaps they’ll be released all over, or maybe under a different name for the European market.

xamyx Avatar

I *love* tarte Muse, so this will be a great replacement! Also, I was torn between MAC Baby Don’t Go & Blushbaby to round out my palette, and since I went with the latter, this will be worth getting. Now, I just need to see Cola & Heather…

Jocelyn Avatar

I LOVE THIS. It’s right up my alley. I have *very* large eyes so they are the focal point whether I try to or not, so I always look too made up with anything but subtle color on my cheeks. This looks like a blush/highlighter in one. 🙂

Monica Avatar

This blush is GORGEOUS and perfect for me, I can see me using this as my “go to – daily” blush. I will definitely be getting this shade. Looking forward to Melon and Fig review.

Hi Christine! I love this review. I was wondering how this compares to Mac Linda ? The blush was sold out by the time I went to buy it and this looks super pretty

I love this! I have porcelain skin with cool undertones, so when this arrived and I saw that it looked like a pale bronzer in the pan, I was a little apprehensive. Everything bronze-y and nude tends to pull orange on me and that’s not my best look. I should not have worried though, as this looks really natural, soft, and glow-y. I wore it today with a subtle, warm eye look and Chanel Coco Shine in Secret (peachy beige-nude) and it was a lovely break from all the pink/coral/pastel looks I’ve been wearing lately. It looked effortless and polished. And, it is practically effortless. If there is an easier to apply blush out there, I haven’t found it.

I love the Cheek Pops so much! They are like yummy, glow-y, butter in powder form for your cheeks. And, Christine, this looks gorgeous on you. For as pale as this looks in the pan and as soft as it looks on my porcelain skin, I am truly blown away that this shows up just as beautifully on your skin. The shade is so neutral and the finish is just so very nice that I’m betting this will work well for many.

It is just PERFECT for me, who love dark eyes and subtle / neutral color in cheeks. You know when the formula of a product is a great success when a person like me, who am not a hug fan of blushes – “eyeshadows” are my weakness –, decide to buy six (6) shades of the same range. I have Peach Pop and Plum Pop, and now I’m definitely going to get Pink Pop, Pansy Pop (the lavender), Melon Pop and this Nude Pop.
I think that you remember that I live in BRAZIL, that I’m still recovering from a disease (I’m ok, but I cannot yet leave my home. I am looking forward to going to the beach –– many smiley faces).
Regardless of healthy, I don’t purchase any make up product without your approval.
Therefore, none of this would be possible without your job! Thank YOU so much!

(Lauren).

These whole line of cheek pops honestly look amazing! I have to pick one up to try it when I go shopping tomorrow, I live in south america and I almost bought the Peach Pop last year. I am totally convinced now and I’ll try it to see if I can order the new ones online 😀 BEAUTIFUL! This nude one is a must have shade!

pj Avatar

So pretty! I was expecting it would be comparable to Douceur or Madly, but it’s unique 🙂

Any chance you’ll be reviewing Cola Pop soon?

Sarah Avatar

I swatched the original range of cheek pops and wasn’t impressed, but dammit these blushes look so luminous and beautiful on you, always!! This is why I hate blush shopping, it’s really a product you need to try on before you get the full feel of it!

Ryou Avatar

I’m usually weary of warm brown shades because they tend to look muddy on me, but this looks peachy enough that I think it would still look great. I’m thinking this shade would look great as a bronzer on very fair skintone, too.

Kelly Avatar

I LOVE this Clinique blush! It’s affordable and has great staying power! As a VIB Rouge member at Sephora, I also just picked up Cola Pop and Pansy Pop, and omg……they are absolutely stunning! I also love TheBalm’s blushes, as well, but I certainly wouldn’t pass up on Clinique’s blushes. I have Hawaiian tan skin, and they all look fantastic. I’m so excited!

Fran Avatar

This could be really nice for when I want a bit of warmth on my cheeks without my blush looking orange (my undertones are so cool that even neutral pinks can look orange by contrast). I’m definitely going to check it out.

Fran Avatar

Thanks! Occasionally I want to wear a blush in the peach/coral/orange family, but they look pretty dramatic on me. At my age, I’d rather have that drama on my lips than on my cheeks, lol!

Joan Avatar

My credit card is screaming at me! This is the 7th one I’ve ordered. I have the first four original Cheek Pops and love them. All the new shades are so pretty. I wasn’t so sure about Fig Pop, but I wore it yesterday and I liked it. The only one I wouldn’t get is the Cola Pop, which is way too dark for me. I understand that Nude Pop and Cola Pop are exclusive to Sephora.

inez Avatar

It is so pretty and subtle. Thenfinish looks soooo nice! I think it will be a great option for me, thank you for the review and swatches!

Ester Avatar

The nude is very pretty. I’m not sure how well it would work over any light acne scars I have on my cheeks which some blushes seem to make look worse or a deeper tone than they are.

hwca Avatar

This looks so beautiful and subtle. Does it look at all similar to NARS Luster? Thanks for all your hard work. Hope to see comparison swatches of all the different Pop Cheeks once you have completed all the reviews.

spring Avatar

This looks beautiful! and looks so pretty on you! I will definitely have to pick a few of these up. I have Ginger pop and I love it because I can layer it on to get a more true to pan color but also wear quite sheer where it just give such a beautiful glow and sheen to the skin. I have been waiting for Clinique to release new colors, and I’m happy that these aren’t limited edition.
