Clinique Melon Pop Cheek Pop Review, Photos, Swatches
Melon Pop
Clinique Melon Pop Cheek Pop Blush ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had good color payoff that was easily sheered out or layered for greater intensity, but the color darkened slightly on the skin compared to how it looks in the pan (which is a bit lighter, more orange).
The texture was soft, smooth, and incredibly blendable on the skin. I’m sure I sound like a broken record, but the finish of the formula is why this blush stands out: it’s beautifully luminous with a glow that doesn’t emphasize pores. On me, this blush wore well for eight hours before fading slightly.

Formula Overview
$21.00/0.12 oz. - $175.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as “vibrant yet natural-looking cheek colour that looks virtually powderless.” The texture was smooth, soft, and dense, so it was never powdery in the pan or on the skin. The blush had good color payoff that was easily sheered out (or you could apply less, as the denser texture makes that easy to control).
It’s the kind of texture that almost blends itself as soon as you start applying and working it onto the skin. The finish became more luminous as I blended the powder onto the skin, but it was never shiny or overly shimmery, so it always looked smooth on my skin and did not emphasize pores or my skin’s texture. Most shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

oooooh that’s pretty!
It is!
I’m pretty light so I think this might be exactly what i want, I love plum pop from last year!
Yay! Fingers crossed!
this is the perfect warmer weather blush! I must get my hands on this…before my no buy starts lol
lol!
FYI — Sephora.com is now listing all the new shades, plus one more — but you have to be VIB Rouge to get them.
wait, make that TWO extra shades that aren’t on the clinique website — nude pop and cola pop. I hope they all become available for everyone before the Chic Week!
Thank you, Miradan!!
You’re welcome! I am so excited to try these once I get access to them. Cola looks lovely, but I’m not sure what I’d do with it, my skin is relatively light.
I went into fits of happiness when I saw that swatch ^_^ sooo don’t need this, but it’s so tempting when most of the blushes I own are a daily battle to not look overdone!!
Oooh, you would probably love this then…!
It looks so pretty, but a bit too light for skintone I think. I may still try it because Milani’s Luminoso works for me even though it swatches pretty light…
It might be worth trying! It still showed up on me despite thinking it was going to be pretty subtle – though I think Peach Pop/Ginger Pop are better bets if you want the color.
Those two are already my list, so I think I’ll swatch this one first and decide if it’s too close to them to even bother buying it.
This blush is PERFECT. Everything about it, I love! The color and finish are so pretty! I have a hard time blending things on my face. I think it’s just the shape of my face haha. So I prefer blushes that aren’t super pigmented so that I can slowly build.
I think you will love this formula!
Beautiful shade. This one is coming home with me!
Woohoo! 😀
This is really pretty just like the others! I guess I may have to just make myself go to an actual mall to look at these soon.May be at Clinique counters?
Reader Miradan just noted that they’re on Sephora for VIB Rouges now, so it should be available for all sooner rather than later! I’m not even sure they’re at counter yet.
I’m in love…..
It’s pretty!
Oh that one looks gorgeous on you, Christine! I don’t know if it’s necessary given that I have peach pop though.
If you wear Peach Pop lightly, you could probably skip!
Loving these blushes .. so soft and pretty on the cheeks. I was in Macy’s the other day returning shoes and totally forgot to check these blushes out .. 😛
Monica.
The finish on these is lovely!
Oh, I need this one and the lavender one. This should be perfect for my pasty pale skin, since I have to be very careful with Peach Pop. Oh heck, I know I’ll buy them all, except for the Cola you just posted. Not sure that I can make that work even using a fan brush, though I do bet it will be lovely on darker complexions.
Oh, perfect! 🙂 This will definitely be great for fairer skin.
These weren’t at my Clinique counter this weekend. Any word on when they should be coming to counters? I need at least one.
No idea – I’ve sent two inquiries to Clinique but haven’t heard back on either!
Sooooo nice on you. These are all permanent, right?
As far as I know, yes!
This is really pretty, goes well from spring to summer. I love your whole look – so fresh and natural
Thanks, Katherine 😀
Loove this shade, it might be my favorite one!
Woohoo!
How does this compare to MAC Launch Away? I’m about a MAC NW10 and Launch Away! is my favourite blush ever, sadly it was LE and I’m dreading the day I run out!
Here you go: http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=108846&dupe=192192
NO Christine! Get this away from me! This is exactly the kind of color I love and have a billion of!
LOL!
I thought it was going to be more of a peach nude shade but it’s really perfect!
So glad you liked it, Erin!
Probably my favourite spring release! These blushes are so fairy-like and magical, they make me forget that most of my current blushes are a similar shade of delicate peachy-pink lol! Thanks Christine
No problem, Leda! 😀 I was so sad that Clinique didn’t release more shades (like in February), so I was relieved when they ended up launching more shades!
This will look beautiful on fair complexions!
Agreed!
As pretty as this is and as stunning as it looks on you I might just sit this one out. If it had received a Temptalia Recommends then it would’ve been a completely different story! Thanks for the review
No problem! 🙂
Oh, I like this shade a lot. It’s peachy with a pink of pink. Can Clinique stopping coming out with such wearable shades?
Haha!
This was the shade I was most interested in, glad to see it performed well! I will definitely be getting this one.
Enjoy it, Megan!
Very pretty!
It is!
This is too warm/peach for me, but it is really pretty!
Thank you sooo much for listing the ingredients. I’ve searched all over the Internet for a list, and noone listed them-including Sephora & Clinique. Since these fall into my list of preferences, I definitely need a few!
No problem, Amy! 🙂
Really like this color, wish it was matte
Aww! Maybe one of the dupes could work!
That looks amazing on you!
Thank you, Deborah!
Perfection. These are killing me. I don’t need any more blush. lol
You & me both.
I don’t know another word to provide a better definition for this blush than this: PERFECT!
It is really lovely!
This sounds perfect for me. I was right at the Clinique section in Sephora and I thought about looking at some of these, but my attention was on helping my wife find the right lip color and then I wandered off again.
I do that all the time… except I just get distracted, period. Too many things!
FINALLY! A dupe for Royal Sunset!! I missed it and I deeply regretted it!
YAYYYY! 🙂
Oh my gosh!! It’s everything I wanted Benefit’s Dandelion to be! I will be purchasing immediately.
YAY!
I don’t even like coral blushes but this looks so beautiful I might actually try it out!
Woohoo! Hope you like it, B!
Pretty!
Clinique really has a winner with these blushes. I really must get me one or two.
They do 😀
I think I might have to order about six of these during the upcoming Sephora sale…….
So far, they’re all really lovely!
Hey Christine! Do you think this can be a dupe for Chanel Espiegle?
I think Espiegle is a lot more orange, way less pink! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=98466&dupe=192192
I have already bought 3 of them…pink, fig and ginger…sooooo beautiful!!
Nice 😀
Love these! I got peach pop today! Am about to order melon pop but I’m worried it will pull orange – is it more pinkish on the skin?
It’s not really pink – peach/orange, but I don’t think it will go really orange as there isn’t any red in it.
Totally debating on whether to get this or rosy pop. I know they’re completely different, but I have no pink/peach blushes (just bronzers and MAC Warm Soul)
I have like… NC5 skin, so I know they won’t look remotely similar, but poor wallet can only support one!
Hey Kelly!
I think you could totally rock this – would be good for very fair skin, but if you want to be safe, maybe Rosy Pop! 🙂
I bought Peach Pop last year after reading your review. It has been my favorite blush since then. Thanks for your reviews!
How does Melon Pop compare to ColourPop Trickery? Which do you liker better?
They’re really such different products that it’s hard to say. I prefer a more luminous finish on blush, so I prefer Clinique!
