Cle de Peau Pastel (11) Luminizing Face Enhancer Review, Photos, Swatches
Clé de Peau Pastel (11) Luminizing Face Enhancer
Clé de Peau Pastel (11) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a cool-toned, white with a golden micro-shimmer/sheen that has a very luminous, glowing finish. NARS Albatross (P, $29.00) has a stronger yellow/golden sheen. Chanel Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder (LE, $72.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
After about 0.5 seconds of consideration, I ended up buying the other two shades of Luminizing Face Enhancer, which both looked cooler-toned online. The reality is while it appears very cool-toned in the pan with pale blue and lavender bits, it is more white-based but still has a warmer, golden sheen. It’s not nearly as warm as the other two shades I reviewed before, though, and it should work well on very fair skin tones without adding noticeable color. The texture of the powder is silky, finely-milled, and very easy to apply and blend out. It’s very pigmented–you don’t need much and even my softest brushes had no problem grabbing a good amount of product, so I’d opt for a lighter hand and build up to the desired intensity. It’s glowing and luminous without emphasizing pores, but it’s a noticeable sheen. On me, it lasted for eight and a half hours.

Oh my goodness this looks divine! You look like a glowing angel with it on.
Thank you, Amanda! 🙂
OMG she always does.. Haha!
Woah..I really love this
Yay!!
“After about 0.5 seconds of consideration…” Haha, you made me laugh! 😉
🙂
Hi Christine,
I’ve really been enjoying your Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer reviews! ‘Pastel’ has been an everyday staple for me — I love that it’s white, but in a soft sense. (That said, a little does go a long way!) Usually I apply using the brush that comes with the compact, which works out nicely for me.
I was worried with how white it was swatched, because these often look stark on my complexion, but it works!
I’m going to get this ASAP! I’ve been looking for a highlighter like this for awhile now.. It will work great for my fair skin, Albatross is too yellow, and a lot of highlighters are too dark for my skin. So excited you reviewed this!
Happy I could help! 🙂
I’m sure you posted this somewhere, but could you tell me where the best place is to order this from? Thank you!
Hey Melinda!
I bought two from Nordstrom and two from Neiman Marcus, both were fine experiences! 🙂 I personally shop more at Nordstrom since I have a CC with them.
At first I thought this might be similar to Laura Mercier’s Lavender Honey which I am drying to get my hands on. But I think Lavender Honey definitely has more, well, lavender too it. This is still beautiful though and I find myself immediately drawn to it. It might be my favourite so far!
Glad ya liked it, Kimmy!
Really pretty, though I would have liked it if the purples and blues were a more prominent. I like unusually colored highlighters! And lots of it :D.
Even just the photo of the pan super close up looks like a work of art!
The design is really pretty!
God, that’s p
<3 I feel like it was so stunning that you fainted mid-sentence ;)
lol
Hahaha! Let’s go with that, yes 😛
(It was so pretty it made my phone FREAK OUT, so that’s not actually far from the truth!)
LOL!
Ah! I’m so excited that you got the other shades to review! This made my day!!!
Yay!
This one is beautiful. I bet it’s similar to the highlighter I use (can’t for the life of me remember the name, a discontinued product from Chanel that is a very very pale and cool toned rose color with tiny blue toned shimmers). I won’t run out of it any time soon, but I can bookmark this product to be my eventual replacement. Thanks, Christine!
Happy to help, Ginny! 😉
lovely it brightens up so well 🙂
Agreed!
Oooooh, this is gorgeous. Now I understand why you had a moment of weakness. XD
We can call it a blackout of weakness, let’s be real, four highlighters in as many days? 😉
Sounds legit. At least they’re not giga-highlighters like Guerlain used to release? 😛
Sound sort of normal to me. 🙂
OMG WANT! This is so beautiful in the pan.
It is!
Oh wow, yeah, talk about a glow boost!
It is very glowy!
This is STUNNING on you!
Thank you!
That looks amazing holy crap
It is really pretty!
The effect on your skin looks like the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation in WT 00 (it’s a luminizer) in powder form. Have you tried it?
You look gorgeous!
I have IL00 (not sure if that’s what you meant – I didn’t see WT 00 on Sephora, just IL00 and IL01), but it’s much whiter (no warmth) with larger shimmer particles.
I didn’t get mine from Sephora so its most likely different. There isn’t large particles in mine.
I’m not trying to be weird, but your cheeks look so delish that I wanna nom on them! That’s it, I wanna get meself one of this!
Haha!
All of these Cle de Peau highlighters are beautiful!
So far so good!
This looks gorgeous on you! It gives you such an ethereal glow; it’s actually what I was expecting the Hourglass Ambient powder in Etherial Light to look like. Also, you totally rock Plum Dandy! It’s definitely going on my list of lipsticks to buy 🙂
Aw, thanks Alla! 🙂
You look beautifully luminous!
Thanks, Karen! 🙂
These powders are so gorgeous! I love how they look in the pan and on the cheeks. This one looks great for cooler skin tones
I think it would be!
I have this and love it, so pretty!!!
I was wondering if you dusted off the overspray before pictures/applicaiton? The overspray is pretty sparkly and created a different effect the first few times I wore this.
Also, would you say the highlighters are different enough to own them all? I am specifically eyeing Delicate Pink 🙂
Hi Cayan,
I remove all over-sprays before I swatch, and I swatch before I apply to the face! I don’t think you need to own them all, though.
That was going to be my question as well. I’m waiting to hear your comments (and see your swatches) for Delicate Pink. I have had my eye on it but this one is gaining wallet momentum….
Oh Christine! The fact that all 3 shades get your TEMPTALIA recommends is making my wallet cry a river!
Aw! They’re all really nice, but you don’t NEED them all. More like pick the one that has the best coloring for you 🙂
Any recommendations for palettes to use instead of the $40 one? Will it work in a Z palette or MAC palette? It’s sooooo gorgeous.
I have mine in Z palettes 🙂
Which size Z palette will not crush this and fit well?
These fit fine in any of the ones I have – the eyeshadows are a little taller but still fit in a regular Z Palette, though I’d recommend dome for the eyeshadow quads if you were getting a new one.
You’d think that for $55 they’d at least give you a compact to store your pretty and breakable pressed powder product in. Look gorgeous, but I’d be pretty devastated if it got nicked with something in the process.
If you’d like it housed in their compact, it’s $95. Since packaging does nothing for me, I saved $40 and went with the refill myself 🙂
This is my favorite one yet! Soooo beautiful.
Yayyyy! 🙂
I cannot get over how beautiful these highlighters are.
They did a nice job!
Why you gotta be so prettyyyyyyy ( you AND that luminizing enhancer!!!) Too cool toned for me, but gorgeous product that looks gorgeous on you Christine!
Thanks, Dee!
What a beautiful product, and it looks lovely on you! I’m really attracted to the pastel, cool tone, but I am a bit unsure about when to use this product vs. Ambient Lighting or my MAC RiRi Cream Color Base Diamonds from 2013? I know the shades are completely different but I’m not sure when to use each.
I like Ambient Lighting more all-over with products like Pastel and Diamonds as more concentrated highlighters. Diamonds, with its cream consistency, could also be worked into your moisturizer for an all-over glow.
Wow – this is so gorgeous – both in the pan and on! It gives a real glow, not just a sheen… 😀
The pattern in the pan is so pretty though, I could just stare at that!
Cle de Peau did an excellent job designing the powder it seems!
You’re killing me Christine. I’ve avoid to look for the swatches of these since they was released. All that pretties!!! They are all gorgeous on you. Are you going to review the delicate pink as well Christine?
Yes!
nearly jumped from my seat when i saw you review the other 2 shades.these are so gorgeous.my wallet is already weeping.
lol! Aww!
Gosh this is stunning, both in the pan and on the face. I love the coolness of it, and I think it’ll go really well with my super pale skin – sometimes products like this are too orangey for me. Pricey, but definitely looks to be worth it!
I think it would work really well on fair skin!
After you reviewed the first two, I had a look at their site and saw the other tow, I so hoped you’d review those as well, and you did/do!
I think this one could be a good one for me. It looks fantastic, both in pan and on your cheeks. Lovely highlighter!
It’s very pretty! I was surprised it worked on me at all!
So pretty! But I liked the previous shade (warmer champagne) you reviewed more!
I like the beige-y one best for my skin tone, since it’s very my-skin-but-better!
Now this is amazing! I love how it’s a good combo of warm and cool! I think it will compliment all skin tones up until about NC25!
It should work well across many skin tones!
.5 seconds of consideration.. lollzz. 😉 .. these luminizers look absolutely stunning..
though this shade wouldn’t work for me but i am eyeing that golden one you reviewed first.. 🙂
I couldn’t resist!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but how would you say it compares with Lightscapade? 🙂
Lightscapade is a lot more beige and more shimmery/metallic!
Ok, seriously I’ve been avoiding this but I don’t think I can resist! Is it LE? And is the case separate and a necessity? This is like a Unicorn Party. 😀
It’s permanent as far as I know! I don’t think the case is necessary unless you’re really wanting to carry a single around with you.
Hi Christine, how does their luminizing face enhancer compared to Guerlain Cruel Gardenia meteorites highlighter? http://www.temptalia.com/guerlain-cruel-gardenia-meteorites-review-photos-swatches
I prefer highlighters that provide a natural lit from within glow without looking shimmery. I have the Guerlain highlighter, not sure if this is a better match to what I’m looking for. Can u advise which of the 2 highlighters is more natural & which is less shimmery? Thanks!
This is a lot less shimmery!
