Cle de Peau Pastel (11) Luminizing Face Enhancer Review, Photos, Swatches

Clé de Peau Pastel (11) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a cool-toned, white with a golden micro-shimmer/sheen that has a very luminous, glowing finish. NARS Albatross (P, $29.00) has a stronger yellow/golden sheen. Chanel Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder (LE, $72.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

After about 0.5 seconds of consideration, I ended up buying the other two shades of Luminizing Face Enhancer, which both looked cooler-toned online. The reality is while it appears very cool-toned in the pan with pale blue and lavender bits, it is more white-based but still has a warmer, golden sheen. It’s not nearly as warm as the other two shades I reviewed before, though, and it should work well on very fair skin tones without adding noticeable color. The texture of the powder is silky, finely-milled, and very easy to apply and blend out. It’s very pigmented–you don’t need much and even my softest brushes had no problem grabbing a good amount of product, so I’d opt for a lighter hand and build up to the desired intensity. It’s glowing and luminous without emphasizing pores, but it’s a noticeable sheen. On me, it lasted for eight and a half hours.

Hi Christine,

I’ve really been enjoying your Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer reviews! ‘Pastel’ has been an everyday staple for me — I love that it’s white, but in a soft sense. (That said, a little does go a long way!) Usually I apply using the brush that comes with the compact, which works out nicely for me.

At first I thought this might be similar to Laura Mercier’s Lavender Honey which I am drying to get my hands on. But I think Lavender Honey definitely has more, well, lavender too it. This is still beautiful though and I find myself immediately drawn to it. It might be my favourite so far!

Really pretty, though I would have liked it if the purples and blues were a more prominent. I like unusually colored highlighters! And lots of it :D.

Even just the photo of the pan super close up looks like a work of art!

This one is beautiful. I bet it’s similar to the highlighter I use (can’t for the life of me remember the name, a discontinued product from Chanel that is a very very pale and cool toned rose color with tiny blue toned shimmers). I won’t run out of it any time soon, but I can bookmark this product to be my eventual replacement. Thanks, Christine!

The effect on your skin looks like the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation in WT 00 (it’s a luminizer) in powder form. Have you tried it?

You look gorgeous!

This looks gorgeous on you! It gives you such an ethereal glow; it’s actually what I was expecting the Hourglass Ambient powder in Etherial Light to look like. Also, you totally rock Plum Dandy! It’s definitely going on my list of lipsticks to buy 🙂

I have this and love it, so pretty!!!

I was wondering if you dusted off the overspray before pictures/applicaiton? The overspray is pretty sparkly and created a different effect the first few times I wore this.

Also, would you say the highlighters are different enough to own them all? I am specifically eyeing Delicate Pink 🙂

That was going to be my question as well. I’m waiting to hear your comments (and see your swatches) for Delicate Pink. I have had my eye on it but this one is gaining wallet momentum….

You’d think that for $55 they’d at least give you a compact to store your pretty and breakable pressed powder product in. Look gorgeous, but I’d be pretty devastated if it got nicked with something in the process.

What a beautiful product, and it looks lovely on you! I’m really attracted to the pastel, cool tone, but I am a bit unsure about when to use this product vs. Ambient Lighting or my MAC RiRi Cream Color Base Diamonds from 2013? I know the shades are completely different but I’m not sure when to use each.

You’re killing me Christine. I’ve avoid to look for the swatches of these since they was released. All that pretties!!! They are all gorgeous on you. Are you going to review the delicate pink as well Christine?

Maddie Avatar

Gosh this is stunning, both in the pan and on the face. I love the coolness of it, and I think it’ll go really well with my super pale skin – sometimes products like this are too orangey for me. Pricey, but definitely looks to be worth it!

After you reviewed the first two, I had a look at their site and saw the other tow, I so hoped you’d review those as well, and you did/do!
I think this one could be a good one for me. It looks fantastic, both in pan and on your cheeks. Lovely highlighter!

Hi Christine, how does their luminizing face enhancer compared to Guerlain Cruel Gardenia meteorites highlighter? http://www.temptalia.com/guerlain-cruel-gardenia-meteorites-review-photos-swatches

I prefer highlighters that provide a natural lit from within glow without looking shimmery. I have the Guerlain highlighter, not sure if this is a better match to what I’m looking for. Can u advise which of the 2 highlighters is more natural & which is less shimmery? Thanks!
