Cle de Peau Gold (12) Luminizing Face Enhancer Review, Photos, Swatches
Clè de Peau Gold (12) Luminizing Face Enhancer
Clè de Peau Gold (12) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a pale, yellow gold with a luminous sheen. Tarte Champagne (LE) is lighter. Divergent Gleaming Pearl (LE) is more iridescent. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is lighter. theBalm Mary Lou-manizer (P, $24.00) is darker. NARS Albatross (P, $29.00) is lighter. Chanel Routes des Indes de Chanel Illuminating Powder (LE, $80.00) is darker. bareMinerals The Shining Moment (LE, $26.00) is darker, warmer. Bobbi Brown Gold (LE, $39.00) is slightly darker. Bobbi Brown Party (LE, $42.00) is a touch darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
This is the other shade that I purchased with Sand Beige (13). There’s not a lot of information about the product, other than it’s a highlighting powder that “illuminate[s] your complexion.” (Sometimes straightforward is nice!) I bought both of mine as just pans, but you can purchase it in Clè de Peau’s compact for $95 (you can see it here). I have mine in a Z-palette, and since it is a metal pan, it stays in place nicely. Gold (12) has the same soft, finely-milled, silky texture as the previous shade, but it was just a tiny bit powdery in comparison. It had good color payoff, which you could apply lightly or more heavily depending on how intense you want the golden sheen to be. It blends and sheers out easily, and it doesn’t accumulate, so it doesn’t emphasize pores even when applied more heavily. This shade lasted for eight hours before fading slightly on me.

So pretty ( and pretty packaging too). I would’ve thought that the bareminerals ready luminizer is almost exactly like this..good to know that its actually darker!
If you apply them both lightly, you’ll notice less differences!
This is actually a really nice gold highlight. Sometimes when highlights have gold in the name, they can be too yellow or orange, but this nice is nice and not too glittery!
It is a good balance between gold/yellow/orange!
Yup, I could totally do this one..but Becca Moonstone liquid is still my HG
Yay for finding your HG 🙂
I had the Cle de Peau (13) Luminizing Face Enhancer. Cle de Peau is really good brand. I got the makeup, the blush, the luminizing and the corrector. I am very pleased with the quality of this products.
Cle de Peau usually puts out high quality products!
Christine I confess that all these powders confuse me. What is the difference between this and meteorites? I have meteorites and they definitely show up a little shimmery and pink on my fair skin. I actually like the look of these better – I like the gold a lot. Would this (or the other shade) work on my pale skin with pink undertones? Thanks! I’m MAC NW20.
Meteorites are more like finishing powders than true highlighters – it’s hard to go overboard with Meteorites. This is more highlighter than finishing powder, but both products can be used either way, depending on how shimmery you like your finishes! Cle de Peau’s highlighter is more visible on the skin, wherever you put it – this will definitely add a little color, too. I think it could work with fair, pink-toned skin, though you may find one of the other two shades (I bought the two warmer-toned ones, there are two more shades that are cooler-toned – Delicate Pink and Pastel, I think) more go-to.
Oh wow that’s beautiful. For my yellow undertones gold and champagne highlighters work really really well so I may have to get this!
It would work well for you, I think!
Very pretty! It’s subtle but it really makes you glow!
Thank you!
Too yellow to my taste.
I could definitely see this being too yellow for some – you can go lighter, but you’ll still have a yellow-gold sheen!
I liked the other shade better, gold highlighters don’t look the best on me.
Gotcha! 🙂
Why does this have to be even more beautiful than the other one you reviewed. I really want this! It is so gorgeous and you look fantastic in the photo. I mean, you always do, but this really illuminates the skin in an angelic way.
I wonder where I can order Cle de Peau, Must check!
I hope you can find it near you 🙂 At least to check out!
That almost seems too sparkly… the other one seemed less disco ball!
I think this just looks more obvious on my skin tone, where as Sand Beige is closer to my skin tone!
Why are you so out of my budget because you are so pretty
Awww!
Gahh!! The Temptalia recommends rating always scare me – that means I need to get it in the cart asap!
LOL! 🙂
That is a very flattering shade. It definitely is softer than the Mary Lou-Manizer, which I have. I don’t have the others.
I really like how it’s luminous but not frosty!
Definitely agree
This turned out to be much warmer than I thought. It looks really pretty on you! I love it
Thanks a lot, Fancie!
That packaging totally blew me away! Love how it looks on you too!
Thank you!
Love this! Might break down and get it, I could see me wearing this a lot!
It’s so pretty on!
I know this sort of sounds silly, but I like this mostly for the art of it! There’s a hint of the M. C. Escher to it, somehow that makes me want to stare into it to see if I can see anything cool.
Possibly, I am seeking distractions 😉
What are you procrastinating over? 😉
This is so so prettyy.. love the diamond like pattern on it!!
The highlighter looks perfect for subtle golden glow., 🙂
It’s well-designed!
Pretty!
Glad ya liked it, Toni!
