Ciate Phoenix & Twisted Marbled Metals Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Phoenix
Ciate Phoenix Marbled Metals Metallic Glitter Eyeshadow ($24.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a soft, medium red with warm undertones and a mix of greenish-gold and pink sparkle over a metallic finish. The contrasting green-gold sparkles actually were apparent when the product was applied without having to angle or tilt one’s head awkwardly to find the shift. The eyeshadow felt smooth to the touch, dense and a little thicker, but it wasn’t as firmly pressed as a traditional, pressed eyeshadow (yet it wasn’t loose or pigment-like!). The pigmentation was opaque and applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even application and just a touch of fallout if I used a brush (the brand recommends using fingertips, which yielded no fallout). This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me before creasing faintly.

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.14 oz. - $171.43 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "highly-blendable" with "full-metal coverage" that has "long-lasting, three-dimensional shine." They are recommended to be applied with "fingertips for effortless, one-swipe application." They're like a loosely-pressed powder eyeshadow in a glass jar with a plastic component that can be used to "press" the powder back into place, though none of mine seemed loose enough to need pressing.
They were intensely pigmented with a smooth, more cream-powder consistency that applied well with fingertips but also did nicely with eyeshadow brushes. I tried them wet as well, and it didn't make a difference--I'd say it stretched the pigment and made them go on ever-so-slightly smoother. They had great adherence with minimal to no fallout and lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Twisted
Ciate Twisted Marbled Metals Metallic Glitter Eyeshadow ($24.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep, forest green with subtle, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had warmer sparkle, and when applied and blended out, it looked a bit warmer and a little less emerald green. If you really want to bring out the green tones, I’d recommend using it with a dampened brush. The pigmentation was opaque applied dry with fingertips (as recommended by the brand) or brushes. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and softly pressed (without being really loose), which made it easy to apply and blend out. It had good adhesion with a smidgen of fallout during application but good hold over an eight-hour period (no continuous fallout).

WL made for Wicked and Phoenix. I need those two! Just a touch of an inside joke with the names going on in my head, LOL ?
Twisted sure has my attention! It looked black in the jar, did not realize it would be a gorgeous deep green.
Same! I don’t particularly NEED it, because I have dark greens in my stash, but I’m a sucker for a surprise green.
Same here. It’s gorgeous although I do have the Absinthe palette which is a dupe.
Oh good point… I’ve got Absinthe, and the MUG dupe too. Maybe I don’t neeeeed it… but I’ll keep an eye out for a sale 😉
Apologies if you mentioned it, but how do these compare to the Eyes to Kill shadows that were around a couple years ago?
They are similar!
The stunning forest green shade is just gorgeous and a great rating too.
Twisted is on the buy list. Ciate has produced a stunning line of metallics!
I was tempted by Twisted but have the LH Draco, so probably am safe in not getting Twisted. (Little pun there, I think. :))
I am so living for Twisted. As you all know, I am green loving and will be getting this one for sure. I mean, green and sparkling, sign me up. I am like their perfect demographic. All of the shades are lovely and I like the sound of Phoenix with the flash being visible without having to constantly fling your head around. I mean if it is going to be there it would be nice to be able to see it more readily.
