China Glaze Blue Bells Ring Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
China Glaze Blue Bells Ring Nail Lacquer
Let Blue Bells Ring
China Glaze Blue Bells Ring Nail Lacquer ($7.50 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as an “icy blue shimmer.” It’s an electric cobalt blue with metallic shimmer and foil-like finish. The finish reminded me of Wet ‘n’ Wild Grew Up in Cobalt-imore a bit, but it’s bluer, less cool-toned. China Glaze Ride the Waves has a similar blue coloring, but it is a jelly-finish, so it looks very different. Zoya Song is much, much darker.
If every polish was like this, I’d own nothing but polish! It was fully opaque in one coat (and swatches are of one coat), dried down very quickly, and had a natural sheen (but not a glossy shine). The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and it applied smoothly, evenly, and without streaking or bubbling. Â I typically get a week of wear with China Glaze’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

oooh thats so pretty. are those pictures of one coat, or two coats for consistency with your other polish reviews?
From the review: “It was fully opaque in one coat (and swatches are of one coat)” Hope thath elps!
I have this nail polish and I agree, the color is gorgeous. Have you already tried removing it? When I did it didn’t want to come off and it stained my nails and my skin, I couldn’t get the color off my skin for 2 weeks.
I didn’t do a wear test for this one, but it didn’t stain my skin after having it on for an hour or so (a lot of ones prone to staining will still stain after that time).
I had the same problem – absolute *nightmare* to remove! I don’t think I’ll be wearing it again.
i had the same problem!
That’s one stunning shade of blue, Christine! And, a one-coater at that. I might need to check out the nearest China Glaze counter and see if they have this in stock already. 🙂
How is it as far as staining nails?
I haven’t worn it for a week (I can’t test every shade for wear – I test about 45 polishes for wear each year), and after an hour or so, I didn’t have staining when I often will for a shade prone to staining. Reader Agata below said it stained hers, though!
I have this polish and there is a tiny bit of staining, but nothing that a good basecoat can’t prevent
Like it!
This may be similar to Orly’s Sweet Peacock because it has a similar foil finish but China Glaze may be a tad lighter.
when I took this polish off my nails it was a mess. It stained my fingers and my nails. Did anyone else have this problem?
I had buffed my nails and applied a base coat before applying the polish and I topped it off with a quick try top coat. Has anyone found a way to avoid the mess? b/c I LOVE this color?
I had the same problem. I love love love the color but taking it off was a mess, I almost cried. I used three different brands of nail polishes and my nails and skin were still stained. It took me like 2 weeks to get my nails to its normal state.
I believe it was this color that also left my nails yellow after the blue stain went away. Did that happen to you? I thought putting on a base coat prevented this from happening.
Absolutely gorgeous, and I *love* the finish.
I’m on a blue polish no-buy, but once that lifts, this is at the top of my list! so pretty and one coat!!!
Reminds me of Zoya’s holiday polish from last year (Zoya Noel). Got it in my Birchbox and wasn’t too keen on it, too frosty for me.
This is such a pretty shade! 🙂
Holy cow!!! I want it!!!
