Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson Colour of Youth Healthy, Happy Lip & Cheek Glow Review, Photos, Swatches
Charlotte Tilbury Colour of Youth Healthy, Happy Lip & Cheek Glow
Charlotte Tilbury Colour of Youth Healthy, Happy Lip & Cheek Glow ($58.00 for 0.08 oz.) is described as a “rosy hue.” It’s a soft, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a soft sheen. theBalm Pie (P, ) is darker, glossier. MAC Hi Jinks! (LE, $22.00) is cooler. Charlotte Tilbury Es Vedra (P, $45.00) is darker. Laura Geller Papaya (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, darker, more pigmented. Dior Pink Glow Blush (LE, ) is more pigmented, less glossy. Dior Coral Glow Blush (LE, ) is more pigmented, warmer, less glossy. Burberry Blossom (P, $42.00) is more pigmented, less glossy. The formula is supposed to be “creamy, blendable, weightless, [and] hydrating” with “natural colour.” It had sheer to semi-sheer color payoff, which seems to be as intended, with a thin, lightly emollient consistency that spread across the skin well without sheering out too readily. The finish had a natural dewiness to it, but I didn’t experience the “long-lasting” quality of the product, as it was significantly faded after six horus of wear. The cream blush worked well on bare skin as well as layered over foundation, though I recommend applying it over slightly damp foundation if you use a liquid/cream-based foundation. As a lip product, it feels thin and a bit clingy, and it stayed on for three hours and was drying over time.

Pretty lackluster for such a prestige priced product!
Agreed 🙁
I completely agree with you. It looks like such a let-down. 🙁
This is the same issue I’m having with this. It faded away so quick. I have layered it with a powder and that works nice. Im thinking about returning it. :(. Christine , do you know if any good cream blushes? I really like the look of this. But, don’t want to be constantly reapplying.
I love Chanel + MUFE’s cream blushes (they feel VERY similar in formula)!
Great! Thanks !
Yikes, I can’t even tell you have anything on your lips! The swatch is pretty, but I think my cheeks are going to eat this one alive in about an hour, and at $58, it’s going to be one expensive meal LOL I’m probably better off buying the Laura Geller dupe -that one looks crazy pigmented, but if I use a light hand, I can probably get close
LOL! An hour!!
I was fortunate to be in London three weeks ago, and was able to stop by the Charlotte Tilbury counter at Selfridges to see all of the products in person. I had hoped that the Lip and Cheek Glow was going to be a bit more similar to the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge’s formulation, but was disappointed at how sheer it was. It would have never lasted more than an hour or two on my oilier skin, plus, as pretty as the compact looks, it definitely lacks the weight of a higher end compact.
I could definitely see this sliding right off oilier skin 🙁
Not impressed by the quality, seems to share the same problem as other lip and cheek multitasking products in general as it seems they never do both fantastically.
Love the packaging though.
Totally agree, A! Wish they’d pick one and then mention the secondary use as a off-label use – “you could even use it as a lip tint if you wanted!” rather than the focus.
Pretty packaging but wowza that price! It’d have to be more pigmented for me to even be a little tempted.
I totally understand!
Hmmm . Interesting. I know other brands have a similar duo product. (like BB- but I never use on lips) Thank you for the review. I was waiting on it to make my decision. I think I shall have to pass on this. On to the next . I am waiting for a second opinion on the fall “runway color” and illuminating duo from Tom Ford.
No problem, Jill!
Do you think you could easily remove the product from the compact without ruining the compact?
It’s cream, so I bet you could remove it from the interior pan easily!
This was the only product that I considered getting from this collection, but had a feeling that like many other hybrids, it would fall short in the performance department. Great packaging, though!
They always seem to miss on one 🙁
Christine,
Thank goodness for your reviews. You help me buy products I actually like and pass on the ones that I know I won’t like without going through the hassle of returning stuff. I had already passed on this collection, but I’m glad your reviews are pushing me even further away from it. That sounds bad. I will say, however, that I love Charlotte Tilbury and admire her work, but I’m not feeling this collection other than the packaging.
My pleasure, Maria! 🙂 So far, the 1975 Red lipstick and powder highlighter were the highlights… ha ha.
It’s a beautiful color and I like the packagaing a lot, but it’s more than I’m willing to pay for a small blush.
It is quite hefty!
I bought this and really regret it. 🙁 I’ve worn it once and it lasted about a nanosecond (and it’s winter here so I’m less oily than usual). The colour is pretty though. Overall, this is probably the most disappointing CT product I’ve tried.
Oh no!! 🙁 Sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience with this, too, Sheb!
I don’t think “sheer” even begins to describe it, more like invisible, as in The Emperor’s New Clothes invisibility! Ridiculous at this price point!
I wish it was better!
Again, not crazy on the packaging, but wowza, I do love the color, sooo pretty!
It is a pretty shade!
No way thats $58! Even if it was spectacular quality its just a lip and cheek tint! CT get over yourselves!
Well, price has little to do with quality – it’s usually dictated by branding and positioning in the market!
Where is the search button? Can’t find it :/
It’s in the footer!
Love the lip color. Not so sure about the cheek application. Color is good but seems patchy
It isn’t great 🙁
It’s one of those products i bought on a whim because i wanted to try CT products and wasn’t quite convinced on her regular line. Thought I’d come online to check how others like it and use it
I’m really surprised to read all these review because it’s my favourite blush of the moment. I wear it everyday and though I’ve never tested the staying power deliberately but i know for fact that it lasts up to 10 hours on me. I work 9 hour shifts on weekends and it takes me 30 minutes to commute to work and back and it stays on completely until the end of the day when i wash my face.
So to give you all an idea of how i use it. I never use tinted moisturiser or foundations so it goes on top of my moisturiser and i don’t own any primers either. I prefer my natural skin over foundation, that’s why. So I swirl my finger over blush a few times and then dab the colour over the apples of my cheek, slowly blending out the edges to make it look more seemless.
I like the dewy look it gives so i don’t top it with anything either. That’s it and somehow it stays on all day. I don’t touch up on it either.
I have normal skin with minimal oil production in the T zone. And it’s winter in my part of the world at the moment just to give you an idea of the climate as well.
Happy to hear you’re having such great luck with this one, Pandiie!! 🙂
