Charlotte Tilbury The Uptown Girl Eyeshadow Quad ($52.00 for 0.18 oz.) includes four shades is a mix of peach and purple. The color payoff, texture, and wear of the three of the four shades is really nice, but I wasn’t keen on the more glittery shade as it was sheerer and had a fair amount of fall out while worn. I also wished for more finish variation, as the overall look is rather metallic applied.

This brand has been available (along with this particular quad) for awhile in the UK, and I bought this from Selfridges, but it will be available stateside at Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Beautylish, NET-A-PORTER today, September 2nd.

The Uptown Girl #1 is a golden peach with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted, metallic sheen. The consistency was soft and buttery, but it didn’t go on quite as smoothly as desired–almost like it was too soft–so I would recommend picking up less product than you think. It had good color payoff, and the eyeshadow lasted for nine hours before fading. bareMinerals Ball Gown (V2) (P) is darker. LORAC Beige (P) is less shimmery. theBalm #7 (P, $6.50) is darker. Tarina Tarantino Delightful #4 (P) is darker, less shimmery. MAC Exquisite Ego #1 (LE, $21.00) is less warm-toned. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #2 (P) is darker, more muted. Urban Decay Flow (LE, $18.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The Uptown Girl #2 is a gray-ish purple with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had nice pigmentation, and the texture was soft and smooth, while the color didn’t start to fade until after nine hours of wear. Ardency Inn Disco (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Fall in Lust (LE, $15.00) is warmer, lighter. Chanel Tisse Camelia #4 (P) is darker, less shimmery. YSL Saharienne #5 (P) is lighter. Too Faced Nashville (P, $16.00) is cooler-toned. Giorgio Armani #16 (P, $32.00) is darker. MAC Fathoms Deep (LE, $19.50) is darker, cooler-toned. MAC Pearled Earth (P, $15.00) is similar. Too Faced Candied Violet (P, $16.00) is less shimmery. Laura Mercier Twilight (LE, $24.00) is cooler-toned. Urban Decay Darkside (P, $18.00) is darker, less shimmery. Too Faced Bluff (LE, $16.00) is cooler-toned. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #1 (P) is warmer. Inglot #420 (P, $6.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The Uptown Girl #3 is a light, warm-toned peach with a glittery finish. It was semi-sheer, and it had an almost wet-like texture that was thinner than the other shades. This shade seemed best patted over another color, rather than used on its own. I had moderate fall out while I wore this, unfortunately, so you may find an adhesive or cream eyeshadow base helpful. MAC Fabulous Three #2 (LE) is darker, less glittery. Tom Ford Beauty In the Pink #3 (LE) is darker. MAC Summer Honey (LE, $21.00) is similar. MAC Pastelluxe #2 (P) is lighter. MAC Ice (LE, $21.00) is less glittery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The Uptown Girl #4 is a medium-dark, warm-toned, muted purple with a soft, frosted finish. It had good pigmentation that went on evenly as the consistency of the powder was soft and finely-milled. It wore well for eight and a half hours when I tested it. Ardency Inn Disco (P, $21.00) is more sparkly, lighter. Make Up For Ever ME930 Black Purple (P, $21.00) is brighter, darker. Chanel Tisse Camelia #4 (P) is darker. Makeup Geek Drama Queen (P, $5.99) is brighter. Urban Decay Uncut (P, $18.00) is brighter. Illamasqua Queen of the Night (LE) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Is it just me or do these Charlotte Tilbury quads have a certain Tom Ford vibe? From shade selections to that glittery shade, they keep reminding me of those! Truth be told I’m not so sure about these for the same reason I am not sure about many TF quads: I don’t really use glitter!

I heard that Charlotte Tilbury was the brains behind the original Tom Ford beauty launch. Doesn’t surprise me that when she brought out her own that brand many of the products are similar.

I’ve been feeling the exact same way about these quad reviews and the last few TF quad reviews. I’ve barely touched a single glittery shade that has come in various palettes that I own, so I feel like it would be such a waste for me to buy these, especially at this price point, if I didn’t intend to use 1/4 of it.

These do look very frosty. I didn’t think I’d ever say this but I realize now how too much of a shimmery overlay can look on the eyes. Variation in texture would be nice, without the glitter shade.

Right away when I saw this palette, it reminds me of MAC Smoking Eye Quad and that middle-shade reminds me a lot of Satin Taupe. What do you think, Christine? I know you are always spot on with your dupe, but I just thought that Satin Taupe is something many of us have already. Thanks!

Pretty, but doesn’t really grab me. It seems the formulas on this quad aren’t as good. Considering the price, I’d want an “A” grade.

Love the colors in this palette! Went looking for Charlotte Tilbury at Nordstrom at Valley Fair mall yesterday and they hadn’t heard of it, thought it might be at other stores like SF. Really bugs me when early adopters get wind of a line or product, know when it launches, and then the store hasn’t even heard of it, and knows nothing about when, or if, they’ll be getting it in. Same with TMugler Pure Wood.

This one is really pretty. I could see it being a very good every day palette.
If I remember correctly she calls the third shade the pop shade, and uses it to amp the look up a bit, for evening, parties and such. I guess that could be the reason for it being diffenrent in texture and pigmentation and also for being glittrier than the others. (Is glittrier a word? if not, it is now.)
You did a very etheral, sweet look. Very pretty!

Again I love this palette, but the shades a very dupable. If you have the Naked palettes (and who doesn’t?) and the bareMinerals palette – the Designer Label – then you would have most of the colours featured in the last two Charlotte Tilbury’s palettes. I still love The Rebel the most. It is by far the most original palette.

This one isn’t nearly as desirable to me as the last one you showed – that neutral one. I also liked the one with the interesting teal in it, which has me on the lookout for the new Ready palette from Bare Minerals that has a similar teal/blue shade.

oooh! those shades are so pretty, and I love the shiny finish! I don’t think my budget can handle the price of this right now, tho, which is a shame It’s SO pretty! something to put on my wish list.

I hate seeing that C on the glitter shade here, because it is intended to be a sheer wash of shimmer over the top of the shadows. That is why it is a “pop” shade. I believe in her videos Charlotte said that the pop shades actually have oils mixed in to make them behave differently than the other shades. I haven’t experienced any major fallout with the glitter shades in her palettes thankfully, at least not after the initial application. I was surprised how much I liked this one once I ordered it, I don’t usually go for these colors… However, like all the palettes I have tried, the powder shadows are creamy and blend so easily, and even though there are no matte shades it looks very sophisticated on the eye. It reminds me of the Tom Ford palettes, only with far better textures.

I bought this palette for myself as a leaving London present back in December, and, boy, am I glad I did! It suits me perfectly, and I’ve never had issues with fallout when I use a primer (without primer, it creases just a little). Plus, it doesn’t have any annoying tiny applicators, and its mirror is pretty fantastic. I have yet to see such multi-dimensional pressed shades.
