Chanel Vegas Gold Le Crayon Levres / Precision Lip Definer ($29.00 for 0.04 oz.) is an molten gold designed to line the center of the lips to add a “touch of light.” The color is similar to Urban Decay Eldorado, which is an eyeliner. I can’t think of any lip liners that I own that are similar, but NYX Gold might work (I haven’t seen it, so I couldn’t tell you for sure) as it turned in my search for “gold lip liner.”
I can imagine this working really well with reds, berries, and plums, actually. The combination of the orange-gold tone with red would be fantastic. Â It applies fairly well, though it does pull and tug just a tad, and the shimmer has a slight grit to it. Â It’s not the best lip pencil I’ve used, but it’s certainly one of the more unique shades I’ve come across. Â It yielded good color payoff in a single pass, though on lips it’s a bit harder to get those results as the surface area is much larger! I found it was a little dry on its own. Â Overall, the formula and feel leave a little to be desired, but there’s something about the color itself as a lip product that draws me in.

Would it be best to use a gloss over it? I imagine lipsticks would want to take the spotlight 😛
I’d use a red or berry gloss – something slightly translucent!
How I wish there as a pic of this in action. I hope you use it in a look soon.
Interesting…Can you post a pic with it on your lips?
That would be so ratched to have a gold liner and a red or orange filler LOL I love it!
This really intrigues me! The possibilities!
Oh, my!! This is certainly unexpected from Chanel, isn’t it? It makes me think of Benefit’s Gilded pencil (do they still do that?), but I’m always surprised when “department store” brands do a product that’s really unique.
<3!
I could see this being really pretty with one of the red glosses from the bloggers obsession collection..maybe..its interesting
Its a pretty color, but too expensive
This is kind of unexpected from Chanel, but I like the gold. Imagine lining the outside of your lips with this!
It reminds me of Benefit’s Gilded pencil, which you can use anywhere on your face. Might be a cheaper dupe, but it is quite chubby, so lacks the precision this might offer. Also, is Gilded available in the US? I remember that it wasn’t (but I last checked a while back) and was only available as part of a limited edition kit of summer products a couple of years back.
I was surprised we got it here in the UK and it wasn’t available in America (it’s usually the other way around, we don’t get everything, which is why this stood out in my mind).
