Gabrielle Chanel created the 2.55 bag, iconic to the House of Chanel, in February 1955. Inspired by the leather-braided chain of the 2.55, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio debuts a limited-edition collection firmly anchored in the codes of the House. Exclusive Creation L’INTEMPOREL DE CHANEL offers an eye palette of five shades delicately connected by an embossed chain design, while LE VERNIS in Intemporel reinterprets the glimmer of the inimitable metal chain.

L’Intemporel de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette ($80.00) (Limited Edition)

A striking harmony of five luminous eyeshadows, elegantly embossed to reflect the leather-braided chain of the iconic 2.55 bag. The rich palette features an absolute black to define the eyes, brilliant green and plum shades to enhance, and silver-white and gold tones to highlight.

Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00)

  • Intemporel Glimmering silver (Limited Edition)

It’s funny, I saw this, and thought, ‘how nice! such vivid, interesting colors!’, started reading the copy, and thought, ‘now, why do they have to sound so pretentious about some eyeshadow? how can they take themselves so seriously?’. lol. I still think the shadows look really cool, the copy never influences me much, but this made me realize why I appreciate a more playful approach to the subject, like some other brands have. Maybe this is part of why (other than the price point) I don’t actually own any Chanel makeup, even though I think some of it is beautiful? Food for thought.

Damn. I’d never spent $80 on a quint personally, but that is a fun looking palette! I have (and will) spent $27 on their polish, but only for the truly unique shades. That’s a bit too ordinary for my taste.

Definitely glad to see a shadow kit with colors ! But the price is ouchie, and I think Chanel shadows are hit or miss, hope it performs well

That is a pretty palette, but I feel like it would have been better placed in the Fall collections. Plus, holy moly..$80 for 5 shadows! That is almost insane. I would be interested in your thoughts and and if the swatches and reviews are stellar(if you get it), I may consider. The way Chanel’s shadows seem to perform though, no way am I dropping that kind of $ on that with out any previous insight.Even then with the LE status, I may let that go. It’s just too “dark” looking for the upcoming season to me. I just don’t get whey these companies make so many LE things! Particularly something like this..if this did well, I would maybe gravitate to it more in the fall.

Not fair they’re not selling this in all countries, got to go to france to pick it up cause it’s not possible to send it to belgium :O it’s not cool with all “we can’t send you, ….you’ll have to come to get it!”
And I still don’t get why few countries (Japan, US,…) have other/extra collections! 🙁

You’d think a Chanel LE nail polish would be a little more unique. Obviously you can’t tell how it looks until it’s on, but I’m willing to bet I’ve got a couple of dupes that cost considerably less. The eyeshadow looks lovely with that chain pattern, but I’d really only want the green and the plum, and I’ll wait to see what dupes you find for them.

I was so excited about this collection until I saw it in person :(. The colors aren’t nearly as rich as they look in the promo pics…in the photos they look so vivid and jewel-toned, but in reality I found them to be much more muted and less vibrant. The nail polish is pretty but not entirely unique…suffice to say my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. I’m sure some will adore it, I would just have no clue how to begin using the shades in that palette as they appear in reality. Bummer, BUT summer ’15 is looking lovely so I’m still hopeful I’ll get my Chanel fix soon!

I didn’t find the statements by Chanel to be pretentious at all – are you talking about the description of the chain and how it came to be in1955?

Megan Avatar

The shadows look so pretty! But $80 for 5 shadows is way out of my price range. And for some reason it always bugs me when luxury brands stick those stupid foam shadow applicators in their palettes!

I’m also glad to see some bright, soul-lifting colour in a spring eyeshadow palette! (if you’ve experienced the kind of winter we’re still having in Southern Ontario, you’ll know what I mean). I doubt I’d purchase this palette (and the polish is just a weird shade for “spring”) but it looks pretty and seasonal for spring – anemone yellow and crocus purple, snowdrop white – the colours remind me of the earliest spring flowers!
