I’d like to “love” these but they’re just too pricey for my wallet.
I have this one. It smells wonderfull but I do not like the feel, nor does it makes my skni ‘glow’
The lightest colour os too dark for my skin.
same feeling. When I’m wearing this, I don’t feel good and glowing.
And it turns a bit orangey on me (after work) ew.. I stopped using this!
I’m curious about these, but I almost feel like it is something I will be skipping.
Everything is really pretty about these….except for the price tag 🙁
I am not a powder kind a girl so I while I think these look very nice, I am pretty sure I won’t be buying one.
They’ve been out in the UK for months now. I skipped. #30 was orange on me and 40 was too dark. I have Medium Dark skin (NC37-40ish). Maybe one can pick a two-shades-darker shade and use it for contouring, but there are countless other products one can use for contouring. Aside from the packaging which is lovely in person, I just found them unnecessary.
The packaging is lovely…so classic. Unfortunately they’re out of my price range. The only thing I own from Chanel is the bronze universal which I saved for months to buy….and it’s definitely worth the cost. Maybe one day!
Apparently, the idea behind these is that you can use them as an all over bronzer, allowing you to eschew tanning altogether. I like the concept, but based on the images I’ve seen on other sites, they’re useless for the very fair and very dark. The lightest shade looked too dark and warm for my skintone, and none of the shades looked dark enough for anyone in the NC/NW50 range. If they expand the range, it’ll pique my interest more. 🙂
So are these essentially powdered highlight and contour powders but intended for subtle effect? Not certain I’m all that intrigued by these… but I felt the same way about Hourglass powders before I tried them too. Officially on the fence.
it can be used as face powder, setting powder, bronzer (darker shade), highlighter (lighter shade) as mentioned by the Chanel SA.
I got this one in N10, the lightest shade.
( I just love Gisele, she is my goddess,,so I picked up with no second thinking…)
It’s quite warm on my skin but natural and huge chanel smell.
Coz I am fair. But it doesnt feel weird just healthy when it just applied at that moment.
When I finished my work (after 10hrs since applied) I found my face is a bit orangey and dry so I stopped to use. ( I am oily skin!!!) I think it’s my oily skin to make it oxidized into orangey look but dry with my cold office air-conditioning.. Another I tried with outdoor, it’s better…
..not a Grade A product
I just order #40. I hate buying stuff without testing it especially skin oroducts but I waited and waited for it to come out…..and wondering will it arrive in Aug. When I saw the case, I wanted it….who knows how the powder will even look on me.. I want the brush and case. Yes, it is expensive but not as expensive as buy a slew of Japanese makeup I just ordered from Ichibankao two weeks ago. Thank goodness MAC is not a big draw for me….or I will have no money for food.
We don’t have 10 and 20 here in Italy, Do you guys think I could use 30, being NW25 in Mac foundations (Punjab or Santa Fe in Nars Sheer Glow)? Thanks!
I saw 010 and 020 in Venice (Airport). 🙂
Really? It’s a bit too far for me, unfortunately… I live in Florence! 🙂
Have ths one in no 40. Good for me specially fter using with chanel perfection lumiere foundation.. The retracable kabuki in les beiges line is a dream… So soft,…
These are great. They came out in the UK a few months ago
They give sheer, luminous coverage and a really nice finish.
There have been stock problems though, especially with 20 and 30
I purchased one of these because I was sucked in by the packaging and the ‘healthy glow’ add. Well…I think chanel need to lay off putting so much perfume in face products, in fact, both this and the last foundation they bought out had the same scent. I would be nice if it was a fragrance, but I do not like to add strong passion fruit fragrance on my face thank you very much! After only using the power once, by skin didn’t like it and I got itchy from the fragrance. All day I could smell my powder on me, hated it. Getting a little off subject but: Once upon a time, long ago, chanel did a great foundation called ‘double perfection foundation’ (not the powder many are aware of) and boy was it fantastic. The smell was perfect..not at all like they seem to be doing these days. It might be okay to try and get some customers that way but you are loosing your loyal customers who really really were there buying from every collection, not just from a gimmicky advertisement like you seem to be now.
…sorry for the rant, thats my 2 cents worth lol.
the mac natural msf does the same thing and way easier on the pocket. Avon has some too for like 8 bucks. I love the packaging, the weight, and the brush but the price tag….I’ll have to really think long and hard about this one.
I bout one for my mother two months ago and she loved it. But the lightest shade is a pit dark for her NW20 skin and it’s for people who want super sheer coverage
Oops I meant bought
I have the lightest one and it is pretty sheer and emphasizes my pores. The brush is too soft to pick up enough powder due to the sheerness. I only use it now as a pressed powder for touchups if i am going out.
I have it in No.40 and it matches my NC42 skin perfectly (I use Chanel Perfection Lumiere BA24, btw). But, since I have very oily skin and hyperhidrosis condition, this powder oxidize about 2-3 shades darker on me, boo-hoo!
Yes it gave me beautiful summer glow and doesn’t broke me out, but I have to warn you, it HEAVILY FRAGRANCED! Man, it gave me headache, just like their CC Cream.
I personally prefer Hourglass Ambient Light (in Dim Light) and Guerlain Meteorites Voyage over this. I haven’t tried NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder (both the pressed & the loose powder), but I think I might gravitate toward those too rather than Chanel Les Beiges.
After using this powder myself for a few days, I just used this powder on clients last night. I matched it closely to their skin and used it as a finishing powder over the VItaLumiere Aqua Foundation. This foundation is one of my favorites because it is most sheer and natural of all the chanel foundations. I found it to be an absolutely magnificent combination. Especially if you are carrying over into the fall and winter with a lighter foundation (which I do). It does give the skin a glow without being shimmery. I feel it absorbed oil during the day quite beautifully as well. I think its a great substitute for the Peche Tendre which I normally use. Definately worth a try!
