Chanel In Love Blush

The First Blush of Spring:  Chanel In Love Blush

Chanel In Love Blush ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a dirty coral-peach with soft, golden shimmer. It can be applied softly or built up in intensity for a bolder cheek.  I’ve found Chanel blushes to be extremely smooth and silky and have a tendency to blend very well into skin to look natural. In Love had this same texture and feel when I used it. (I wore In Love in this smoky look earlier this week.) It worked best when lightly patted onto skin with a blush brush (I like MAC’s 116) and then a gentle sweeping motion at the end to blend together.

I like pairing it with gold and copper eyeshadows as well as smokier looks. It’s versatile and definitely a shade I’m often drawn to. The shimmer in this is very fine and smooth, so it looks more like a shimmer-sheen than glittery shimmer. I just wish you got more for your buck; Chanel blushes are some of the smallest (by weight) blushes on the market, which then makes them one of the most expensive blushes by the ounce ($300/oz., whereas Dior blushes are $190/oz.).

For some reason I have never liked the little blush brushes Chanel puts in their compacts. They seem stiff to me and they shed. You would think for the price they charge they would make better brushes. Even the compact is plastic!

Christine, I bought In Love about a year ago when Chanel released it in a collection and I adore it. It brightens up my face and I never have to worry about applying too much. It looks great when the light catches it. You just look like you’re naturally glowing. I definitely recommend it.

Wow… that is just so, so gorgeous. It looks like a pretty generic shade though beautiful. It does look a lot like NARS Orgasm though I think Orgasm is more pink and more shimmery. (I just got Orgasm two days ago – my first NARS blush – and I’m wearing it today! It’s a bit more shimmery than I normally like so I’m using it mostly as a topper over other blushes though LOL.) It’s a pity they’re so small though because I usually like to treat myself to brushes or blushes for significant events (like anniversaries or graduations) but I would hesitate to buy this for something like that if I thought it wouldn’t last very long… (versus NARS which last basically forever due to the pigmentation).

Maybe a bit more like Deep Throat? I suppose! But shocker, I’m drawn to blushes in the peachy-pink family… 😉

I can’t imagine myself ever really using up a blush, but if you only have one or two, I could see it getting used up much faster!

Ooh, I can see that. But LOL. I am too! I adore peaches and peachy-pinks so much that the large majority of my collection is made up of them. I’ve only been really using blush for the last year ish, but I can definitely see myself keeping and using up my favorites. I’ve already made a significant dent in Laura Mercier Nectar (sadly discontinued!) and I have this horrible tick about using up things so I’ve been ignoring it a bit as of late (even though there’s seriously plenty left). I don’t know why I would be worried but I am! LOL…

I got this as a gift a couple weeks ago and love it! I’ve been using it everyday! It gives enough color but not in your face, which I have been looking for. It also gives me skin a nice glow 🙂
