Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection: Les Scintillances de Chanel
Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection: Les Scintillances de Chanel
The iconic colours of Chanel — gold, red, beige and black — are a never-ending source of inspiration for Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup. The glamorous proof: his Holiday 2011 Collection, Les Scintillances de Chanel. Golden reflections delicately sculpt the face with light, while eyes and lips shimmer in festive tones.
Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder ($72.00) (Limited Edition)
A true visionary, Mademoiselle Chanel found inspiration everywhere. Today, the Paris Makeup Studio does similarly — capturing the gilded beauty of Mademoiselle’s treasured belt buckle in LUMIÈRE SCULPTÉE DE CHANEL Highlighting Powder, an illuminating powder that gently highlights the skin with a sheer blend of tender pink and pearlescence. Shades of ivory and pink dusted with tone-on-tone mother-of-pearls make this palette the height of glamour and sophistication.

Well…$72 for the shimmer powder? I’m starting to feel like a fool when I see the prices inching up higher. I’m sure it’s nice, but I think these companies may be laughing at us.
More pictures 🙂 : http://bjooti.net/?p=12704
lovely pics! I wish I understand what you’re writting 🙁
Google Translate will do the job for you – well, it makes me sound bonkers because the translations are far from spot on, but it’ll give you a jist.
the highlighter sounds interesting!
The picture of the woman looks like its out of the 90’s. All I see are reds….not that intriguing.
I completely agree. I’m normally enamoured with Chanel and their looks but this one, not so much. It’s rather stale looking.
Am I the only one that thinks spending over $40 on a Highlighting Powder is crazy. lol
When did Glossimers go up to $28.50??
Granted I am not a big Chanel fan, but between the promo pic, the prices and colors/names I find this all completely unappealing.
i’ve always loved the look of gold under the eye and a dark graphite/black liner/shadow on top!
The gold on the eyes is pretty but I totally agree- not tempting at all. The reds are nice but totally dupeable and nothing unique enough to spend that much $ on!
That highlight powder looks a lot like MAC’s Chez Chez Lame, doesn’t it?
Chanel’s fall collection was so gorgeous and full of rich color that I find this completely underwhelming. (Also, it will be a cold day in h*ll before I spend $72 on a cheek highlighter!)
that is the most gorgeous red lip i have ever seen. famous, triomphal, or both? i might lose my chanel virginity to this.
If you go on the Chanel website, it will tell you how to get the look. It says they used a red lip pencil and Famous RA lipstick. Hope this helps!
they bring clasic to this but still.
Very classy look but I am NEVER spending $72 on shimmer powder, especially since I almost never use it.
why are people complaining about the price? It is Chanel, it is to be expected. If that is not your taste, then pass on it. There are plenty of others who will pay for limited edition $72 highlighter, including myself. If you don’t follow Chanel collections, then yes, the prices will look crazy expensive. But for those who do follow, it is normal and I rather pay for a pricey highlighter that works than have 10+ from drug store brands and other high end brands that don’t do the job. The price should not always be the determining factor. End rant…
I think I need that nail polish in my life…not sure how unique it is though.
…and now I hear the highlighter for $72 is only an over-spray! I’ll Pass!:)
I’m a bit stunned by the price for the highlighting powder… I know it’s Chanel, but I don’t understand why it’s so much more expensive than the blush in the same collection. With that said, I swatched it today while shopping and it really is very stunning. Haven’t seen its exact iridescent quality in any other highlighter. Still wouldn’t pay that much, but it is certainly special. Hope there is a dupe out there. (Though I did finally give in and pick up Peridot nail polish from the Chanel counter; the new red polish from this collection looked gorgeous too – bright red with hot pink iridescence).
