Chanel Fracas Le Vernis / Nail Colour ($26.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “vibrant pink.” It’s a brightened, reddened pink with warm undertones and a light dusting of golden shimmer. The shimmer is incredibly fine, though, and even under flash, I could hardly see it. Dior Pasteque is a bit brighter, no shimmer. NARS Anardana is pinker and has no shimmer. L’Oreal The Queen’s Might is redder. Illamasqua Collide is brighter and pinker, less red.

This shade was incredibly rich in pigment–it was very nearly opaque in a single coat, but I used two for swatches (I think two would still be best, unless you did a thicker single coat).  Fracas was interesting, because it doesn’t look as bright and neon in natural light as it does in fuller/brighter light, so it is a bit of a chameleon.  I wish the shimmer was more visible, because as is, it looks more like a cream than anything else.  The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and the color flowed beautifully across the nail without pooling, bubbling, or streaking.  I usually see a week of wear with minor tip wear but no chipping with Chanel’s nail formula.

These colors are disappointing for Chanel. I usually expect to see some color innovation with them, especially for how pricey their polish is. But these spring colors are all so expected (really nude, pink, and red for spring? My mind is blown Chanel.) and dupable.

Disgusting? Maybe not your taste, but not really a good description of that color. At least it’s not a yellowy-greenish brown diarrhea color. That’s what I would call “ewww”.

This is just gorgeous! Wonderful resort or summer color. Id wear this, in a couple months.

Peridot turned up on the website, a polish I’ve been loving for years so I finally put down Chanel money. Worth every cent! The quality is in a completely different league. After decades of spazzy looking polish I look fantastic!
