Chanel Camelia Le Vernis ($28.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark, raspberry pink with subtle, cooler undertones and a cream finish. Formula X A+ (P, $14.00) is cooler (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Indiscretion (04) (LE, $35.00) is lighter (95% similar). Christian Louboutin Beaute Bengali (PiP, $50.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). MAC Girl About Town (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (85% similar). L'Oreal Members Only (P, ) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). MAC Toco Toucan (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

This spring, Chanel reformulated their polish to be five-free and launched the formula in 15 shades, including some shades from the previous formula. I’ve only tried this one so far, so it’s hard to make any generalizations about the formula at this time. The consistency of this was slightly thinner than the average Chanel polish, but it applied well and didn’t pool along the edges. The one thing that I noticed was that the brush was larger and flared outwards than the previous brush (which was more squared off and thinner). It had opaque coverage with two coats, and even the first coat applied well without looking streaky. It wore well for seven days without chipping on me, but it had more tip wear than I normally experience with Chanel’s formula (no base or top coat).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I was curious to see how the new formula worked out. I just ordered the polish in Organdi the other day (haven’t received it yet). I actually considered this shade (Camelia) but I already have several polishes very similar in color. Thanks for your review!
