I want that lipstick! The classiest blue-red ever. I also like those red and gold powders. It’s like old style Edith piaf beauty.

You are referring to Lumières Byzantines de Chanel Palette Highlighters. Only 1500 of them were made. Each one came with an instruction card that was also hand numbered so that you knew which one of the 1500 you had received. They were released in May and are long gone, quickly snatched up by make-up aficionados. Topkapi is the quad that Chanel created for the rest of us and it’s stunning in beauty, elegance, and sophistication.

I think we’re getting the two different palettes confused :-P. I’ve been discussing the expensive and extremely limited Lumières Bysantines; not the lovely and limited Topkapi. When I said that was the one for the rest of us, I was referring to the price point and relative ease in obtaining it– as easy as going to Chanel.com.

Lumières Bysantines can be seen on Café Makeup and Best Things in Beauty. It’s a work of art masquerading as a set of golden highlighters.

That red blush looks gorgeous but I just can’t justify the cost of Chanel (though once we’re not spending a fortune keeping our grumpy old cat ticking along, that might become my indulgence – right now, it might be my vet who’s buying Chanel…paid for by MOI!!!)

Everything looks so gorgeous!! I ordered the quad and some things from the Fall Collection — can’t wait to get everything!

I am intrigued *only* if that gorgeous shiny metal look to the shadows goes all the way through. Oversprays make me feel cheated. 🙁

I look forward to your reviews and swatches! 🙂

Does anyone know if counters in Canada are receiving this? I really shouldn’t buy anything from this collection, but it’s still tempting to check it out in person. Hah.

I want it all.
And there is nothing “subtle” about this new blush, it’s one dangerous in-your-face red! I’ve seen swatches and all the bloggers who swatched it point out that it’s extremely pigmented. But oh my, how beautiful it is!

Awesome! I just got both blushes. Now I want the eyeshadow quad! These are the first blushes and now eyeshadow quad I’ve ever puchased from Chanel. They are such great quality that, hey, why not get them. Hehehe. So happy, and such a Chanel fiend now. 🙂

I got the lipstick, red blush and the eyeshadows yesterday. All are beautiful. However, the shadows are very small–about the diameter of a penny.
