Catrice’s Highlighting Powder is supposed to be “soft and velvety” that gives a “soft glow” to the skin and is available in two shades (I will review the other shade as well). The powder was soft and blendable with a lightly powdery consistency that kicked up excess product in the pan but did not look dry applied to the skin. It imparted a faint glowing finish that wasn’t metallic or shiny, so there were no issues with it emphasizing pores or my skin’s natural texture. It had good pigmentation that could easily be diffused or sheered out, if desired. The highlighter wore well for seven hours before fading on me. One thing I noticed is that it has a stronger, powdery smell to it.

IIRC, this was on sale after the 20% coupon @ Ulta. Don’t know if it still is, but U has mark downs on Catrice at least a few times per year. Personally, I like the brand. Think this would go well with their Rose eye palette ( more of a pinky/taupey selection that leans, rather than is pink.). That one is prob my HGDS eye palette. It is pretty sheer, rather than bold, very aging eyes friendly. And $6 + discount beats the price of aura any day. Suspect I’m in, eventually. At least stateside, Catrice does not have vast quantities of seasonal/LE product. So, this will almost def be around. She Bad looks exc. That look really proves how you can mix HE and DS and look like a million.
I think it was on sale recently!
I like this type of highlighter because I do have some texture on my upper cheekbone from eczema and the steroid cream used to treat it. If I do anything to shimmery it always draws more attention to the area than I would wish. I am very pale so not sure how pink this might show up on me but for the price point it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. You look lovely as always, Christine. I love the lavender/purple eye shadow shades on you. The make your brown eyes just pop. I have really dark brown eyes also and love purple shades. Thank you again for all your hard work.
This is a nice level of sheen without being matte for those with more texture on their skin!
A little too much for me but with a light hand it might work.
I bet a light hand would work a treat!
Catrice! Wauw, I’m impressed!
Yay!
Wow, this is pretty good, considering the dupes cost 4-10x more! I’ve only tried a few eye shadows and lip liners from Catrice, and they were all pretty decent to good, think they are another under-rated DS brand. They are big in Europe, but finally making their way into the USA via Ulta.
They seem to be! I haven’t tried much – I think just the highlighters, actually…
It’s great to see this shade in a decent quality, lower price point option! I think with it being a little less shimmery than UD Aura, I might have preferred this one.
I really love how drugstore brands have stepped up their game!
Thanks for reviewing this! Gonna add it to my next Ulta order. It’s cool-toned and dimethicone-free…those are my weird skin requirements!
Woohoo!! Hope you love it, Ray 🙂
Ray;
Catrice is affordable and people really seem to like their products in reviews. Take a look at some of their other products available at ULTA when you are ready to order. I tried the color correcting pressed powder and think it’s great (soft matte finish and brightens up under my eyes nicely). Good luck, I hope you like their products.
While obviously not quite the same shade, this highlighter reminds me of Laura Mercier Matte Highlight 01 when it comes to giving off a more subtle, glowing shimmer instead of the much more metallic sheen of many others. I like this one!
Yes, it is definitely in that type of vein of highlighter!
Very pretty! And the price is right.
For once the price is right, haha!
I just have to say you look really cute in that photo! Love your makeup look. 🙂
Thanks, Katharina!
I think you could end up with a very ghostly look if you weren’t careful. Certainly this is for very pale complexions.
It should work well for fair skin tones!
Love how this looks on the skin. Thanks for reviewing this! I’ll definitely get this as soon as I visit a nearby Catrice counter. 🙂
No problem, Shaunne!
Catrice make up is indeed under rated. I have difficulties to find their products here in France, so I buy them in Germany where they are sold almost everywhere. I am rarely desapointed by these and I’ve made nice discoveries.. I regret that they launch a new collection every month, with therefore a lot of LEs that are quickly sold out…
Glad you’re able to buy them in Germany, at least! They just started selling here in the U.S., I think… somewhat recently!
Woah for the price this looks gorgeous! 🙂
Agreed!
