What's your foolproof way to remove nail polish?

I like using Zoya’s Remove+ on a felt cloth, letting that saturate my nail for a few seconds, then gently rubbing off the polish.

What indie brand would you recommend to someone who's never shopped indie before?

Sydney Grace. The majority of their products (almost all!) are already made and ready to ship, so there are no long turnaround times, which I think is more of a “feature” for other indies (many of which have pre-orders).
