Release Date + Collection Info

Sonia G. is adding two new brushes to the core range due to popular demand!

Worker TWO has been a best selling since its launch and I received so many requests for a smaller version of it, so here it is, the Worker THREE. It has the same shape, it’s really like a [shrunk] version of the Worker Two with similar density but it will be able to accommodate smaller eyes or help those of you who wished for more precision.

This Crease TWO is similar to the Blender PRO in terms of functionality; it can be used in the crease or all over the lid, to build or to blend out the application. It’s actually a bigger version of the Crease Pro, and [Sonia] wanted a big crease/all-over eye brush but that would still allow control on the placement and the blending. It’s tapered but splays out to hug the crease and automatically blends as it builds intensity. Compared to the Blender PRO, this Crease TWO is going to build up the application just slightly more gradually, looking a bit more diffused in its perimeter, while the Blender PRO is going to give more opacity faster.

New series, new handles, new shapes, designed and refined for ultimate performance and versatility: the PRO series.

“I wanted these 5 PRO eye brushes to be the best workhorses in each category: Pencil, Builder, Worker, Crease and Blender; they’ll work across products effortlessly and they complement each other like a team. None of these are the same as the current collection, they are different in shape, or size or functionality. ” — Sonia G.

Sonia G. Makeup Brushes | Impressions & Thoughts

Sonia G. The Fundamental Brush Set
Sonia G. The Fundamental Brush Set

Sonia G. brushes launched late last year with an eight-piece brush set, and this year, the brushes launched individually with a recent addition of another eight brushes to the line-up. I’m still working my way through the brushes (I need to re-think how I approach and review brushes to review them more quickly), but I know several readers have inquired about impressions.  I’ve been using the original set since they launched (and my process of using brushes is I slowly integrate and try them within my routine where and when a new brush makes sense), so I have more in-depth thoughts on those than the ones just newly released this month.

Best Makeup Brushes for Powder Eyeshadows

Best Makeup Brushes for Applying Eyeshadows

The right eyeshadow brush can go a long way for getting the coverage and finish desired in less time, and the key is identifying your own preferences, eye shape and size, and considering how varied (or not) the colors you reach for.  I can easily go through 100 brushes in a week, as I tend to switch to new, clean brushes as I change colors or finishes (as I’m testing products), but I don’t expect that to be quite as necessary for most readers.  I’ve found a lot of brushes I enjoy, so I’ve included the ones I reach for most often, even though there are a slew of additional brushes I keep within reach.

I would love to hear about the brushes you can’t live without for applying powder eyeshadow — share your picks in the comments! 🙂 Stay tuned for my brush picks for cream eyeshadow, brows, and detail work, and then later, my top brushes for cheeks/face!
