I .. am honestly surprised at how excited I am about these. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, despite how little I like how they taste. They always make my lips look glam.

I would like to see how sheer these actually are because the colors are to die for! They all look so pretty. I had one of these from when they first released the Buxom glosses. I loved it & I am not a gloss girl. I know it’s not the same formulation but it imparted quite a bit of color, enough for me to wear without feeling the need for lipstick because when I wear lip products I need color, unless I’m hoping with a lip balm. It still maintains its pepperminty tingle & color to this day, as I dug it out of wherever it was & decided to give it a go, as I’ve been drawn to lip glosses lately, but looking for one that actually has staying power & is highly pigmented. I buy MAC’s lipglasses on occasion but never end up wearing them.

If anyone loves a certain lipgloss that I don’t have to reapply after taking a sip of water & is pigmented, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

LOL I did that too! I didn’t find my name, but I did find my sister’s, and it was a color that she would actually wear. Maybe I’ll grab one for her 🙂

wtf?? 100 shades!!! Which completely begs the question of whether or not the differences are that discernible. Is this a fuller coverage lipgloss? I just scrolled back up to take another look at the product description and it’s positively overwhelming.

I’m not a fan of tingly lipgloss in general, but guaranteed you fill find a colour that appeals. Now choosing it on the other hand…

Jules Avatar

You’re right about the differences – from pictures alone, I can’t tell the difference between some of these! Natalie and Taylor look alike, so do Allison and Lindsey, and Lily and Leah, and Gabby and Dolly, and Cassadra/Maddy/Megan/Angela…any differences are going to be really subtle. I could understand 100 shades if they’re doing every colour of the rainbow (and I would LOVE to see some adventurous shades, even a molten gold or a really shimmery true purple), but it do we really need a dozen nearly-identical nudes? If I saw a display of these at Sephora I’d probably think, “Nope nope nope, I don’t have two hours to go through all of these to figure out which works for me,” and they’re not at a price point where I’d be willing to buy five or six of them and decide after wearing them a few times which ones I like most. I think it’s a pass for me!

Brenda Avatar

Holy cow! I love that there is a good variety of nude/brown tones as well as rose, pinks, reds etc! I wonder if they will actually keep all the shades or if this is a testing for the most popular.

Shana Avatar

Well obviously you won’t be able to swatch/review them all…but if you could do as many of the peach/coral shades as possible, that would be so helpful! I live in the middle of nowhere so I have to buy higher-end products online, and without swatches it’s pretty much impossible since I’m so picky!

Lizzi Avatar

Whoa!!! 100 shades!!! There’s something for everyone here. I think I’ll just be buying Elizabeth, Lauren and Grace for me and my sisters, since those are our names. Lol! How fun to have your own lip color named after you. Lol!

Stephanie Avatar

oh my god how is that necessary… I’m slightly nauseous at the idea of stocking those on the shelves, though I couldn’t imagine that they’ll all be available in-store

veronica Avatar

Wow so many shades… not even gonna lie I wish my name was on that list cause I would have bought it even if I didnt like the color haha

JoElla Avatar

I bet they are now offering all the LE shades that came out in beauty TSV’s, and the core line and some new ones and some older ones.

I can see this being overwhelming but ultimately fun.

Jules Avatar

I went to Sephora today and I saw these. The display is three rotating cylinders with all of them arranged in alphabetical order so the colors get mixed up by shade (although it seems that all the “A” names are nude-ish). Yep, a lot of them are REALLY similar, and alphabetical order instead of shade-order like in the picture above makes it difficult to compare the colours. Having to constantly rotate the cylinders would get really annoying if more than one person wanted to go through and compare shades.

I have to say two really impressed me because they looked unique: Jane and Jill. Jane is definitely NOT plain! The two of them had a blue shimmer which looked really beautiful but I’ve got some similar type glosses by Sephora so I didn’t buy them.

Michelle Avatar

They have my name. I have to have it!! Couldn’t care less about the color haha. Though it would be a bonus if it’s a nice color. It’s described ‘fruit punch’ so my hopes are high. Only thing I will probably never be able to get them because they’re only sold in America. 🙁 (Good selling technique by the way, damn every girl wants a lipgloss with her name on it. :P)

Abby Avatar

I’m glad they’re releasing more colors and can’t wait to see reviews on the shade because I definitely want to try out more shades! Buxom should release a kit with the mini size of every shade.

Quinctia Avatar

First thought on seeing the post: “Surely that’s an extra zero in the titl–I guess not!”

I am ambivalent about the formula of these, I guess. I’m not a huge gloss wearer, but I do kind of like a tingle.

There’s one that’s a letter off from my first name, and the color sounds like something I’d wear, but I don’t know if I’d spring that much for a lip product I’m just “eh” about.

hex Avatar

100 shades?! That’s absolutely ridiculous. How is anyone supposed to choose? Loads of them just look the same anyway. And you’d think with 100 shades that there would be some more adventurous ones. How do you have 100 shades and not even have a true red? this is too crazy. the packaging is cute with the girls on there but i throw out the boxes anyway. It would be cuter if the characters and names were printed on the tube. PASS

Jennifer Avatar

I actually think this is a cute idea. Sure, I bet they know that most people aren’t going to buy each one of the 100 shades, but there are plenty of customers who may be buying the lipgloss based on the pin-up girl or the name. Like I love the idea of buying a ‘Nicole’ and ‘Jessica’ lipgloss for my friends’ birthday, or picking up a ‘Jennifer’ lip gloss because it has my name (I just wish it wasn’t fuschia, not a fan of the color). I think this marketing move is more to cater to people’s emotions and appear like they’re easy to relate to rather than focusing a lot on formula. But I actually love Buxom’s lipglosses, they are my HG as they make my lips look even more full and super moisturizing 🙂

Lacey Avatar

Aw, I was hoping they’d bring back a shade they had awhile ago with my name, but I don’t see it. Too bad, I actually really liked the color! It would be nice if they do some holiday kits with minis in each color family (like MAC sets).

Mina Avatar

I live nowhere near a Sephora but happened upon one while out of town – and sight unseen, I wouldn’t have bought many – but I have to say, in person there are huge differences between all of these! Gold glitter in one vs. blue in another – shimmer vs holo – I left with 8 different colors! I have 3 daughters so of course I had to TRY to find their names – only one was missing 🙁 I love these glosses and will order more colors for certain – just couldn’t get more at the time! The display is beautiful, easy to go through them all quickly, and looks great. These will be perfect gifts and great to throw in their Easter baskets!! How fun!
