Burberry Pink Sweet Pea Lip Glow Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches
Burberry Pink Sweet Pea Lip Glow Lipgloss
Burberry Pink Sweet Pea Lip Glow Lipgloss ($27.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a vibrant fuchsia pink with subtle cool undertones and iridescent fuchsia micro-shimmer. Estee Lauder Violet Rain is a bit bolder and has a much larger shimmer (more like glitter). MAC Gimme That! is redder. NARS Hot Wired is also redder.
Burberry’s spring shades are an “introduction of radiant colours” to the brand’s beauty range, with Pink Sweet Pea meant to be a “playful” shade. I put that out there, because the Lip Glow formula is also described as “a hint of color” normally. So, good news to those who love more pigmented and opaque glosses, because Pink Sweet Pea is certainly that–semi-opaque to mostly opaque with an underlying translucency that gives the natural lip color an opportunity to peek through. Based on Burberry’s spring/summer collection, which is what the spring beauty range is supposed to have drawn inspiration from, everything is bold, bright, and colorful.
It is a really lovely gloss formula that’s gel-like and cushion-y when worn. It’s a comfortable gloss to wear, and it’s lightly hydrating–it’s not going to outdo a dedicated lip balm, but it won’t leave you reaching for the nearest lip balm for a few hours post-wear. It’s non-sticky and it has a floral scent, and while I’ve experienced it at a higher potency in other Lip Glows, it seemed subtler here. Pink Sweet Pea wore four and a half hours on me.

The olive green liner adds so much warmth to your eyes! The lip gloss is gorgeous!
you say it has a floral scent? LOL thats weird for a lipgloss.
Did you like the scent or did it bother you?
It didn’t bother me!
Burberry always has great packaging! That lipgloss looks so beautiful
stunning!!!!!
Thank’s for reviewing this, Christine, great job as usual! Will you be reviewing the rest of Burberry spring 2013 as well?
Oh, I love it.
Why do Burberry do this to me? Every time I have no money, haha.
Must.BUY!!! What a gorgeous shade!!!
really pretty!!
So fun!! How does this compare to Chanel Jalousie extrait de gloss?
I don’t have Jalousie, sorry!
Okay – I hate lipgloss, but this looks amazing!!
That looks absolutely amazing!
\o/ I love, love, love this gloss, although I think I may love Mallow more. (Did you get that one, too?) So happy to hear you’re liking it!
I don’t think I got that one!
You look lovely Christine!I don’t ever invest in lipglosses, but this one makes me want one…!!
Wow! What a color! Do you know how it compares to Chanel’s Jalousie lipgloss? This one looks way brighter but I’m not sure!
I don’t have Jalousie, sorry!
Love it! Why does it have to be $27!?
Christine, it sort of reminds me of Chanel Jalousie. The glossimier . Anyone sharing the same notion with me??
I don’t have Jalousie, sorry!
It really does!
Yes ! Agreed ! Looks very similar !
WHOA! I wasn’t expecting the color to be as vibrant as it was in the tube! What an incredible gloss!
I hav seen your product and I like them. I hav problems with normal lipgloss. I use to hav rash each time I use them. How am I sure its not going to be the same after using your lipgloss?
You might want to figure out what ingredient you are allergic to by consulting a doctor!
WOW. What a gorgeous, vivid shade! I love how many bold lip products we’re seeing this Spring — here’s to hoping the trend comes back next year 😉 It’s quite an interesting aesthetic!
Looks very good on you, so vibrant.
Christine, may I ask, what foundation are you using on your face in these images?
Giorgio Armani Maestro
How do you take care of your lips when you do so many swatches? I can’t try more than 4 shades before my lips really hurt for the rest of the day. I try using makeup remover and oils to be gentle and complete, but it really limits how many colors I can try. How do you take care of your lips? New to this site, and am impressed, thanks for a great site!
Practice? I guess, LOL! I usually do 10 per “session.” I don’t do anything special other than wear lip balm at night (I test various lipsticks/glosses during the day)!
Absolutely gorgeous. This is one of the most well-done new glosses I’ve seen in a while
I have this and I love it – love it – love it! It’s a wonderful spring shade and quite a departure from Burberry’s soft look. If you get your hands on Mallow Pink, try that one on as well. I thought Pink Sweat Pea would be the stand-out shade, but it turned out that Mallow Pink is a unique (by my stash) rosy red that’s universally flattering.
I think the color is similar to MAC SUPERGLASS TOTALLY BANG! but without all that shimmer and iridescent flakes…..
Does this compare in any way to MAC Star Quality?
Star Quality is redder!
I have this gloss and it’s lovely. You can put on a sheer coating for a less dramatic look, or build it for more punch. It also leaves a very pretty soft stain on your lips after it wears off that does not dry out the lips. Everyone notice that Sweet Pea is a Limited Edition shade so get an extra if you love it.
Wow, this gloss looks amazing on you! I love how you could capture the uber pretty sparkles. This is a perfect shade for spring/summer this year for sure.
This is soo pretty!!
How does this compare to Mac Electric Fuschia?
This is much more opaque and pinker!
Hey Christine – Great review! How does this compare to Chanel’s 169 Jalousie? 🙂 x
I don’t have that, sorry!
Christine, you are my last resort. I am looking for a dupe or a repromote of a MAC product. It came in the Smoke n’ Mirrors compact. If one is looking at the opened compact – it is the shadow on the bottom left…Spell No 9. Everytime I go to my MAC counter, there are new employees who are not real familar with older collections. Please help – it’s my go to shader or transition color. Thanking you in advance, Carla
Hi Carla,
Have you tried Le Metier de Beaute Icon? http://www.temptalia.com/le-metier-de-beaute-nouvelle-vague-kaleidoscope-eye-kit-review-photos-swatches#image3
