Burberry Peony Rose (302) Lip Velvet Review, Photos, Swatches

Burberry Peony Rose (302) Lip Velvet
Burberry Peony Rose (302) Lip Velvet

Burberry Peony Rose (302) Lip Velvet ($30.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a softened, rosy pink with a matte finish and warm undertones. NARS Tolede is warmer. Tom Ford Indian Rose is pinker. Revlon Pink Truffle is glossier and slightly darker. Bobbi Brown Nude Rose is darker. NARS Montego Bay is very similar but a touch pinker.

Burberry’s Lip Velvet is one of my favorite matte lipstick formulas, because it’s rich in color payoff, long-wearing, and comfortable to wear. The consistency is creamy enough that it glides on easily without tugging or pulling on the lip, but it stays put and doesn’t slide around. This also helps it stay on better and for longer–Peony Rose lasted nearly six hours on me and was somewhat hydrating while worn. It doesn’t feel heavy or thick, but it has full color coverage.

You’re reviewing the Lip Velvets! I love reading about Burberry. I can’t wait to see the rest (reds in particular) on you!

Oh gosh, that is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I already have nude rose, so I know I’m not missing out on the colour, but the finish is gorgeous!

i have pink amber and pink azalea and LOVE them. the pink amber i have used almost everyday since purchasing and I need like a new tube ASAP. haha. LOVE the formula. and the color has this really luminous quality to it too.

I have this one and *love* it. I htink it was the first Lip Velvet I purchased. I haven’t worn it in a while, I’ve been into sheerer/glossier lipsticks lately, but now I think maybe I’ll dig this out.

This looks absolutely lovely on you. I’ve been looking for a matte warm pink forever – and here it is at last. MAC “Kinda Sexy” is the closest thing I ever found to what I have been looking for, and I’m talking “close” by 120 degrees of separation. I must check this out. Thank you for this!

I really like all the Burberry products I have seen they look like they would suit my coloring, I like the lipsticks and the blushes and I love that the brand is around since 1856 since I adore history and old things. I have been wishing to be near a counter since forever, there are about five or seven counters in my country but the nearest one to me is about 14 hours away by bus 🙁 , I really hope that I will be able to travel somewhere with a counter around this August. By the way this lipstick really suits you Christine, it looks like a great subtle pink on you, great for everyday 🙂 .

Above, there is a green button that says “Where to Buy” and the first link of the post (that says the product’s name) will also take you to where it can be purchased!

I just fell in love. Now the question is when do I buy it, now because I’m impatient or in a month as a birthday gift to myself?! Thanks for another great swatch!

Which is more pinker and darker in order (NARS Tolede, NARS Montego Bay, MAC Brave, MAC Cosmo)? I have MAC Brave but it washes me out, Cosmo is the lightest I could go. I’m NC25 with strong yellow undertones.
