Burberry Nude (No. 002) Wet & Dry Glow Shadow

Burberry Nude (No. 002) Wet & Dry Glow Shadow ($29.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark golden brown with a hint of gray and a frosted, metallic finish. MAC Force of Nature #1 (LE, $21.00) is darker. Too Faced Rum Raisin (P, $16.00) is warmer. Kat Von D 3AM (LE) is cooler-toned. Makeup Geek Mesmerized (P, $9.99) is darker, cooler-toned. Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel #2 (LE) is very similar. Urban Decay Resist (LE, $18.00) is slightly darker. Make Up For Ever I550 Olive Gray (P, $21.00) is lighter, less shimmery. Make Up For Ever D562 Taupe Platinum (P, $21.00) is warmer. Marc Jacobs Beauty Au Revoir (406) (P, $28.00) is a cream product. NARS Dione (P, $29.00) is lighter. NARS Himalia (P, $29.00) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #09 (P, $32.00) is darker. MAC Superwatt (LE, $21.00) is a cream product. bareMinerals A-Ha (P) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

If you’re a fan of formulas like MAC In Extra Dimension, NARS Dual Intensity, Estee Lauder Pure Color Gelee, or the newest Tom Ford Eye Color Duos, you’ll probably like Burberry’s newest wet/dry formula. It’s very, very similar (as they all are), but I think Burberry’s achieved the silkiest, smoothest iteration, which gives it the best texture of all that I’ve tried. Much to my dismay, I only purchased one of the four shades available, and I managed to snag one more, but the other two are on backorder.

The brand describes the formula as “high-pigment colour with light-reflecting technology.” It can be used wet or dry, with wet application supposed to yield more “vibrant intensity.” Applied dry, it is slightly softer and is easier to sheer out if desired, and applied damp, it darkens slightly and becomes more metallic. The powder is incredibly easy to blend on the skin that it is nearly effortless to get a soft, diffused edge. It’s a denser product that doesn’t feel heavy but adheres well to the skin, which makes it so easy to use. When I tested for wear, the color lasted well for nine and a half hours before creasing slightly.

Oh Gooood I need this one already! I just received three new shades from the spring collection yesterday, and I am amazed by the texture! I like how it feels almost “waterproof” because even when you use the texture wet, the water doesn’t get absorbed into the eyeshadow all that fast or easily. I was wondering how the more shimmery shades would fare. Now that I’ve seen it, I NEED IT!

That is a really gorgeous brown! I already have NARS Dionne but it is a lot lighter. I can’t wait for your reviews on the other colors, especially the gold pearl.

I’d rock this all day every day! My no buy 2015 plan (except to replace foundation, concealer or mascara) is really hard!!!! 🙁 so many pretty new products. I alreadt caved two days ago to try the new “affordable” line from butter london. It’s called nonie cream I think? Weird name but the butterfly packaging sucked me in. I ended up with a lipliner and mascara duo and might have thrown in a few wet n wild lipsticks while I was at it. Even though they’re cheap i’m trying to reduce the size of my collection. Grrrrrrrrrr, must stop reading blogs….can’t help myself. 0_o

Oohhh… tempting! What is up with the “Wed & Dry Silk” eyeshadows that Nordstrom also has? I assume these replaced the “sheer” eyeshadow range, — many of the names are the same, with new numbers. I assume they are different, yes? I’m sure you’ll review them too – can’t wait! 🙂

I love that brands are embracing this kind of formula. MAC’s extra dimension is my absolute fave and I LOVE that there are more alternative options available now. I had to stop myself from ordering all the colours online. Trying to wait until I can go to a store to swatch the shades and try to whittle them down. Thanks for the review Christine, I’ve been reading your blog for 8 years now and it’s the only blog I read daily without fail. Thanks for all of your hard work ☺

I went to Burberry UK website and I see that they have launched 22 (!) of these wet & dry eyeshadows, in addition to the 22 sheer eyeshadows that we all have & know. Some of the eyeshadows in both ranges have same names, but different numbers (wet&dry are 3-digits). It would be interesting to compare both formulas. There are definitely some nice interesting new shades to try. I am quite surprised they did not announce this big launch in any way, but glad we found it out 🙂

Hello Christine,

I just came from Sunny’s blog, she featured three pastel shadows from the collection. Although pretty, they definitely would not suit my coloring–but, this has some serious potential. It’s warm, golden, pigmented, and long-lasting…what more can a woman ask for? I’m currently into Kjaer Weis eyeshadows, which are amazing. However, Burberry Nude is definitely a must see, when it gets a bit warmer and I can actually walk the streets without developing frostbite. Many thanks for this great review.

I have this on back-order, I’m so happy to read your review. I also ordered Chestnut Brown from the reformulated wet/dry silk shadows, it coming tomorrow. I hope it’s just as fantastic as Nude :).
