Burberry Nude (No. 002) Wet & Dry Glow Shadow Review, Photos, Swatches
Burberry Nude (No. 002) Wet & Dry Glow Shadow
Burberry Nude (No. 002) Wet & Dry Glow Shadow ($29.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark golden brown with a hint of gray and a frosted, metallic finish. MAC Force of Nature #1 (LE, $21.00) is darker. Too Faced Rum Raisin (P, $16.00) is warmer. Kat Von D 3AM (LE) is cooler-toned. Makeup Geek Mesmerized (P, $9.99) is darker, cooler-toned. Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel #2 (LE) is very similar. Urban Decay Resist (LE, $18.00) is slightly darker. Make Up For Ever I550 Olive Gray (P, $21.00) is lighter, less shimmery. Make Up For Ever D562 Taupe Platinum (P, $21.00) is warmer. Marc Jacobs Beauty Au Revoir (406) (P, $28.00) is a cream product. NARS Dione (P, $29.00) is lighter. NARS Himalia (P, $29.00) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #09 (P, $32.00) is darker. MAC Superwatt (LE, $21.00) is a cream product. bareMinerals A-Ha (P) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
If you’re a fan of formulas like MAC In Extra Dimension, NARS Dual Intensity, Estee Lauder Pure Color Gelee, or the newest Tom Ford Eye Color Duos, you’ll probably like Burberry’s newest wet/dry formula. It’s very, very similar (as they all are), but I think Burberry’s achieved the silkiest, smoothest iteration, which gives it the best texture of all that I’ve tried. Much to my dismay, I only purchased one of the four shades available, and I managed to snag one more, but the other two are on backorder.
The brand describes the formula as “high-pigment colour with light-reflecting technology.” It can be used wet or dry, with wet application supposed to yield more “vibrant intensity.” Applied dry, it is slightly softer and is easier to sheer out if desired, and applied damp, it darkens slightly and becomes more metallic. The powder is incredibly easy to blend on the skin that it is nearly effortless to get a soft, diffused edge. It’s a denser product that doesn’t feel heavy but adheres well to the skin, which makes it so easy to use. When I tested for wear, the color lasted well for nine and a half hours before creasing slightly.

Oh Gooood I need this one already! I just received three new shades from the spring collection yesterday, and I am amazed by the texture! I like how it feels almost “waterproof” because even when you use the texture wet, the water doesn’t get absorbed into the eyeshadow all that fast or easily. I was wondering how the more shimmery shades would fare. Now that I’ve seen it, I NEED IT!
It is AMAZINGGGGG!
Pretty! Neutral but looks really well done. Super tempted!
It has such a superb texture!
That is a really gorgeous brown! I already have NARS Dionne but it is a lot lighter. I can’t wait for your reviews on the other colors, especially the gold pearl.
It’s a great brown!
Taupe of the day~ Love the finish on this.
It’s spectacular!
wow that is truly beautiful! This is a must buy for me
The texture!!
Wow, I know you only have the one color on your lid but it looks so beautiful on its own! I love it 🙂
Thank you, Ashley! 🙂
What an amazing eyeshadow. I am willing to splurge.
It’s so, so beautiful to work with!
I’d rock this all day every day! My no buy 2015 plan (except to replace foundation, concealer or mascara) is really hard!!!! 🙁 so many pretty new products. I alreadt caved two days ago to try the new “affordable” line from butter london. It’s called nonie cream I think? Weird name but the butterfly packaging sucked me in. I ended up with a lipliner and mascara duo and might have thrown in a few wet n wild lipsticks while I was at it. Even though they’re cheap i’m trying to reduce the size of my collection. Grrrrrrrrrr, must stop reading blogs….can’t help myself. 0_o
Stay strong, Sophia! xoxo
Is it sad that I have NARS Himalia, Fallen Angel, AND Force of Nature and I still want this????
These types of colors are just my weakness. NEED.
lol!
hi christine! i know you said you purchased a few others. could you please tell us what they are? also, any particular brush(es) you’d recommend for these shadow? i need some shadows for lining and in the crease. any suggestions? i thought midnight brown. but, i’m not sure. thankyou very much!! xo.
Hi Wendy,
I only purchased one other shade, sorry! I think it is Shell? I’m not sure.
Lovely, lovely color and the formula sounds amazing. I can see this being a real workhorse shadow. But for my money, I’ll be duping.
Luckily, lots of dupes!
This is the kind of color I hoard!! It’s so so pretty! 🙂
Haha, obviously one I have a lot of, too!
Was this a very silent launch? I haven’t recognized it at all, thanks so much for the heads-up, hope it is released internationally!
They’ve been up for a few weeks both on Nordstrom and Burberry’s website – I think it launched alongside the spring collection.
I thought it would be boring but boy was I wrong, so pretty!
Haha! 😉
Yesssss now this is what I’m talking about!
Such a great shade! Hoping the rest are equally lovely.
Oohhh… tempting! What is up with the “Wed & Dry Silk” eyeshadows that Nordstrom also has? I assume these replaced the “sheer” eyeshadow range, — many of the names are the same, with new numbers. I assume they are different, yes? I’m sure you’ll review them too – can’t wait! 🙂
Yes, it’s a replacement for the Sheer range 🙂
It’s nice, but I have shiny browns covered. I just don’t need it.
Totally get that!
Wow, is that ever pretty. Looks like a terrific and versatile “one and done” sort of shadow.
Agreed! 🙂
Gorgeous!!! i love it.
Yay!
OH MY… that’s very pretty! Probably too warm for me but I really like the shade and finish!
I hope they’ll expand the range!
Gorgeous! So glad this is a permanent product! I will be investing in this one for sure. Hope to see other shades reviewed too!
Me too! 😀
I love that brands are embracing this kind of formula. MAC’s extra dimension is my absolute fave and I LOVE that there are more alternative options available now. I had to stop myself from ordering all the colours online. Trying to wait until I can go to a store to swatch the shades and try to whittle them down. Thanks for the review Christine, I’ve been reading your blog for 8 years now and it’s the only blog I read daily without fail. Thanks for all of your hard work ☺
It is nice to see more of this type of formula! 🙂
Thank you so much for your long-time support, Aamina! xoxo
Wooooo…. This is a great all over color for those days when you want to look polished but only have little time to do your makeup. I like!
It would definitely be nice all-over!
I think there was one other comment asking if it was a silent release and I was about to say the same, I hadn’t really heard about these? Anyway, this formula might have to be my introduction into Burberry shadows. It just sounds (and looks) too amazing!
Just keep in mind that the Glow ones aren’t the same as the regular Wet & Dry range (not quite the same formula)!
Wow! That is SO pretty!! Maybe Burberry will be the brand I splurge on!!
It’s a gorgeous shade!
So pretty but I don’t wear browns.
Aw!
Well, isn’t this just ridiculously gorgeous? O_O It’s probably lucky for me that we don’t get Burberry makeup here, or I would be in serious trouble…
Your lucky wallet…
Beautiful! I need this.
it’s a very nice brown!
A very pretty and useful colour – which really suits you Christine. Now I would pair this with either an Olive green or a forest green for contrast and that would work for me.
It would be gorgeous with a green!
This is a beautiful shadow! I could wear it like everyday lol
Haha! Me too ;D
If used wet, does it get hard when the pan dries?
Nope!
Christine, how does it compare to the finish of the Benefit velvet eyeshadows? I’ve been searching for something similar for awhile, and these look like they have that same subtle glimmer.
They’re not alike – the Velvet formula is pretty much your traditional powder eyeshadow, IMO. This is a more distinct formula.
gosh, this looks soooo pretty! ^.^
It’s such a nice shade!
I just went through my collection and thought that I might have at least one shadow that is similar… but I don’t. Poor wallet. This is so beautiful!
Oooh! Hope you can check it out.
I had to order it right away when I saw this!! Ordered pale barley in the wet and dry formula as well. Looking forward to use both of them 😀
Nice! Enjoy your new Burberry shadows!
wow this color is such beauty
need it in my life
It’s lovely!
have you tried any of the wet and dry silk eyeshadows? i wonder what the difference is and if it is as good as the glow formula seems to be.
They’re definitely not the same formulas, IMO!
Oh my goodness! What a beautiful shade of brown and that texture is what dreams are made of. I’ve been wanting to purchase an eyeshadow from Burberry and today is my blog’s 2-year anniversary. I think I have a solid excuse to treat myself. lol
Happy 2-years!
Thank you Christine! <3 🙂
AHHHHH such a pretty colour! NEED IT. I only hear wonders about Burberry eyeshadows, really dying to try something from the brand!
This one is a good one to start with!
I so can’t believe it never occurred to me to wear these types of shadows half wet and half dry!! I am doing that with mine as soon as I can lol!
Let me know how that works out for you, Jade!
I went to Burberry UK website and I see that they have launched 22 (!) of these wet & dry eyeshadows, in addition to the 22 sheer eyeshadows that we all have & know. Some of the eyeshadows in both ranges have same names, but different numbers (wet&dry are 3-digits). It would be interesting to compare both formulas. There are definitely some nice interesting new shades to try. I am quite surprised they did not announce this big launch in any way, but glad we found it out 🙂
The regular Wet & Dry formula replaces the Sheer formula. Then there are 4 in the Wet & Dry Glow formula 🙂
Hello Christine,
I just came from Sunny’s blog, she featured three pastel shadows from the collection. Although pretty, they definitely would not suit my coloring–but, this has some serious potential. It’s warm, golden, pigmented, and long-lasting…what more can a woman ask for? I’m currently into Kjaer Weis eyeshadows, which are amazing. However, Burberry Nude is definitely a must see, when it gets a bit warmer and I can actually walk the streets without developing frostbite. Many thanks for this great review.
-Maria
My pleasure, Maria!
I have this on back-order, I’m so happy to read your review. I also ordered Chestnut Brown from the reformulated wet/dry silk shadows, it coming tomorrow. I hope it’s just as fantastic as Nude :).
Fingers crossed! Keep me posted on Chestnut Brown!
Would you consider this cool or warm? I’m fair and cool and very curious how this would work on me!?
Warm overall — the overtone is a little cooler, but it is generally warm to me.
