Burberry Devon Sunset Lip Cover Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Burberry Devon Sunset Lip Cover Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a soft coral with warm, peachy undertones. MAC So Vain is very similar, perhaps with a very subtle pink tint. Lancome Stylistia is similar but pinker. YSL Peach Passion is lighter, less pink.  It has just enough pink in Devon Sunset to make it a wearable warm coral on both cool and warm complexions.

There is a very delicate shimmer that translates into a luminous finish.  It has a nice level of shine and sheen so it makes lips look fuller and smoother.  The color coverage is opaque, and the texture is soft, smooth, and creamy so it applies beautifully. I love the lightweight texture, because it’s easy to wear, hangs on for four hours, and feels hydrating while you wear it. Burberry did a nice job with the packaging, too, as it has a magnetic cap that will swivel the lipstick cap back into place, ensuring closure.

I LOVE when you do Burberry reviews, Christine! All of their products are so wonderful, and I’m always so pleased with them.

Really pretty! I love that I never find my lips dry while using this formula.

I notice that Burberry products are heavily rose-scented, which is not my favorite. I’m used to it now, though, after using Misty blush regularly.

Thank you for a nice swatch!

Thank you for adding “What makeup are you wearing?”!! I often wonder about your other makeup in the photos, particularly some of the stunning blushes you have been wearing recently. I love your blog, thanks for your hard work!

I love the colors of Burberry’s lipsticks, but I bought one and it tastes disgusting! It tastes/smells very very strongly of generic lipstick (I’m not sure what the exact scent is). Do you notice this throughout the line or do you think it might have been just the color I bought?

That lipstick looks gorgeous on you! & I love the eyeliner you’re wearing, I just ordered it yesterday. Now I’m even more excited to get it in the mail! Such a pretty color.

No, you aren’t. I really like this color actually. However, the first time I saw the picture of the actual lipstick with the design on it, I must say I think it doesn’t look so nice. It even looks kind of gross to me in my opinion. 🙁

It looks beautiful on you, Christine! I have this exact lipstick and was wondering if you’ve seen any issues with the Lip Cover formula settling into your lip lines. From your description, it sounds like the formula has worked well on your lips, but on mine, it settles noticeably into my lip lines :(. Are there any application tips to prevent the product from setting into lip lines? I usually just apply one thin layer straight from the tube. I haven’t had issues with other lip products. Thanks so much!
