Bright Makeup: MAC Spring Colour Forecast Look #1

Bright Makeup: MAC Spring Colour Forecast Look #1

The unveiling party last night was really fun! It was so, so exciting to be able to meet several Temptalia readers while I was there, too. Big shout outs and lots of love to Rachael, Sam, Cynthia, Carol, and Melissa!! 🙂 This is the look that I wore to the event… c’mon, I had to go bold! Azalea Blossom is really wearable, even on warmer skin tones – very soft and pretty… so spring.

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. With the 239 and water-based mixing medium (or water), apply the light lavender pigment all over the lid area. Using the 239, apply Straw Harvest eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Lala eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Very Violet eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Very Violet eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Lightly tap and brush Nanogold eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Nangold eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying El Dorado eyeliner on the lower lash line and Straw Harvest eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush. Finish by lining the upper lash line with Blacktrack fluidline with the 208, and then sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Azalea Blossom blush ombre to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116. Highlight the cheekbones with Beige Lumineux with the 165.

For lips, apply Bubblegum lipstick first, and then layer Electric Fuchsia lipglass for a complementing lip.

Very gorgeous. My favourite bit has to be the cheeks though…. or the lip im not sure yet. im dying for this collection. ALL the good collections come out in march aha always good for my birthday 🙂

such a beautiful look!! pink & purple is my weakness <3

just a question though, "With the 239 and water-based mixing medium (or water)", does it mean dip the brush with water then dip the pigment directly?? will moisture ruin the pot of pigment??
thanks a million

Oh so beautiful! Looks fab on you.

I’m so in love with the CF collection – can’t wait until it will be available here in Belgium! I’d better start saving up some money because I want it all <3

Gorgeous look, Christine. These brights look really good on you. I’m in love with Azalea blush though. After seeing the product photo and swatch, I was a little ‘meh’ about it, but it’s seriously gorgeous here.

Now I’m going to have to go pick it up! XD

wowww i loveeeeeeeee this look! before i was thinking hmmm wont gt the single eyeshadows MAYBE…BUT Now definitely want them all 😀 love u and love all the hard work u do with the swatches and posts! all the best..

Oh my, I love this look so much! I might just have to get the lipstick and lipglass, although Bubblegum didn’t seem that amazing alone, they look gorgeous together! 🙂 By the way, do you think this lip combo could be achieved with Magnetique lipglass, or is it too different to Electric Fuschia? Thanks!

Gorgeous !! Christine, thanks for all your hard work posting the pics and swatches of the collection. I was checking Temptalia almost every hour !! It’s really appreciated. XoXo.

I am loving this look on you. I can’t wait to get my hands on that bubble gum lipstick. I think a NW 45 complexion could rock that lipstick. I don’t know if the blush would show up on my complexion. Some pinks don’t always look flattering on my complexion. It tends to make me look ashy. I was told you use a cream blush as a base. I don’t what do you think?

I love the look. Oh I have a favor to ask I just got Motif eyeshadow could you do a look using Motif?

Thanks Rosa! 🙂 I think the blush could work for you! I’d say Azalea Blossom is probably the only one that might have a tendency to go ashy – you might like Vibrant Grape more!

pretty! btw, does victorian swatch on the purple side? i cant tell with the swatch photo and am debating. i like the look on skin but then it looks more purple on the lips. i’m not really into lavender lipsticks so i don’t know if it’ll work. perhaps you can suggest something to layer on top of it to make it more pink?

Hello Christine, how beautiful you look. You really can not expect less from you … on your looks is something special, and is the love with which you do, that’s one thing I admire most about you … With many things to do (study, and study more) always book a little time for this space …
It would have been great to attend the event last night … I hope you’ve enjoyed myself =) lots of color and things that we love to enhance our beauty.

From Mexico half a week I wish you a wonderful =)

The weather is so bad, very cold, rain and wind, definitely not, I start to use colors of spring, because I feel so out of context …

I can only ask another look regale me with the Urban Decay palette Alice, I think I come a little later than the end of this month, and that makes me a little sad, because the look I’ll be stuck in the past .. .

Thanks so much! Aww, they’re nice… I don’t know if I’d necessarily get all four, but I don’t think you could go wrong with getting all four 😛

Beautiful! I need a new blush and was debating about the Azalea Blossom blush, but it looks so great on you that I have to go get it now!!

Oh, gorgeous as always, Christine!<3

I do have a question, however. How does Azalea Blossom blush ombre compare to Coy Girl or Pink Swoon blush? & How about NARS Desire blush? All help will be appreciated! Thank you in advanced!

Hey Trisha!

It has this lilac tone that isn’t in Pink Swoon or Desire. It’s pinker and lilac-er than Coy Girl, too. The texture is like a beauty powder, too!

Is Eldorado only available from the super stash, or can you get it in full size as well? I’ve become addicted to mine, and I’m going to be sad if I can’t replace it when it’s gone.

Great lip combo! “Straw Harvest” is ravishing, I would never have thought, really. 🙂

I have a question concerning the blush if you allow me. Do you think it could work on a NW15 skin considering I generally prefer sheer and discreet cheeks? Can this be built lightly?

oohhhh so many comments so soon …. where i have been ??? lazy me
how could one resist this look … love brights on u
u have made me fallen for bright colours ….
chritine i already added the lipstick n gloss in cart hahaha
will be ordering soon with few other things
suggesttttt ……
waiting for ur recommendations for me … personally hahahah
love how u give attention to all of us
and keep the good work coming …..

I think you will like Ripe Peach blush ombre! Also the Colour 4 Quad is super pretty and has the golds you love, though you could dupe it with what you have already I think 🙂

Straw Harvest & Hot Hot Hot might be fun for you, too!

So pretty! I am now on Mac’s website making official purchasing decisions. haha I am deciding whether or not I want to buy nanogold :/ I think I’ll check it out at the store.

I adore the eye look! Bright yet classy. I’ve always loved the pairing of those colors, and new they’d work, but never got around to it myself. Must try now.

i love the lip combo! i was only going to get bubblegum ls at first but once i saw this i added electric fuschia to the list!

To get the same look of pink burst lipstick, would you be able to layer electric fuschia lipglass over girl about town, lickable or even show orchid? I am trying to skip pink burst lipstick.

omg..the blush looks AMAAZING on you..and love the last pic..thanks for it! 🙂 love the pop of coraly orange in the inner corner! really different and beautiful!!! 🙂

is it just me or does anyone else think that the electric fuschia lipglass looks just like the sweet strawberry lipglass from the hello kitty collection?! atleast when she swatched it on her arm.

wow! i love the cheeks and lips…you did a great job with the eyes too, but i think that using the bold colours just along the lash line would also have been beautiful. (my favourite pic is the one where it is your whole face with eyes open looking at the camera).
ps i’m liking your foundation…i’ve eyed it a few times at the guerlain counter since you started mentioning on your site…i think they have a shade that might match me well…maybe one day when i’m feeling flush…..

This is so stunning! I wish I was brave and bold enough to wear those lips, they’re really gorgeous on you! This has definitely made me want Azalea Blossom blush, it looks incredible on you, and I’m hoping on my pale skin it will show up (I have the hardest time trying to get blushes to show up on me)! The eyes are such a work of art, you do such an incredible job at matching up colors I would never think of putting together!

Do you plan on doing more looks for the Spring Color Forecast? I’d love to see a look with Victorian!

I’m a sucker with purple shadow and I was trying soooo hard to resist Very Violet e/s. I already got Lala, so this is just a given now. Did you get invited to the unveiling because you have this site? You’re sooo lucky!

i love the individual pictures of the eyes and lips, very well applied. however, the whole look is not a win for me. a bit too much shimmer and a bit too cool for your warm skin. also, how you pulled your hair back looks very severe and not very flattering.

I disagree with Sara! I don’t think the shades look too cool at all, thanks to warm peach and gold accent. I also like Christine’s hair down, but I could understand how she tried to keep the hair minimum, because her makeup is so bright. At the end of the day, it is only make up.. It is fun seeing Christine playing with all these new colors so we can see what they look like applied on!

do you now accept comments with onstrutive criticism? i love your site, but i will no longer be a visitor if you cannot even aprove comments that are not 100% positive. i dont find it necessary to say “OMFG YOU ARE LIKE SO GORGEOUS!!!!111!!” when obviously you are a pretty girl, and very talented at makeup. i was just tell you how i felt on the look and how you could possibly improve it.

Awesome look as usual Christine! I will be attending a launch party for this collection on Saturday but that didn’t stop me from placing an order earlier. It was just a small one, both eyeshadow palettes and Bubblegum l/s. Of course I want more but I’m trying to wait until I see the rest in person:)

Thanks, Tami! 🙂

Haha! You know, it’s amazing how fast things *do* sell out at those parties, though. So maybe it’s a good thing you grabbed a few things right away!

I knew I couldn’t wait for the party to get these three items. The blushes were calling to me, especially the purple one, but I didn’t want to buy before I had a chance to swatch. So hopefully those won’t be sold out before Saturday:D

Our store, which is a pro sto, is not releasing the colloection until Thurds, and the our even is not until next satuday, feb. 13. toooo looooong

Hey Christine! I’m loving the El Dorado eyeliner, do you know of any possible dupes for eyeshadows in that shade? And do you think that Nanogold e/s is worth getting if I already have Stila Kitten eyeshadow? Thanks for all your hard work!

I think MUFE makes one that’s kind of similar, or else UD’s Honey, which isn’t 100% the same, but it’s similar.

I like Nanogold, but I don’t love it. So… probably not!

Aww, thanks for the shout out! It was so nice meeting you! I felt kinda starstruck in a way. lol. You had on a fierce look that night! Think I may have to go back and get those eyeshadows you used for this look as well as Bubblegum & Electric Fucshia.. most definitely! Well take care 🙂

I totally had a feeling you spelled it Rachael! I was like, “OH MAN, I AM GOING TO GET IT WRONG!”

It was a pleasure to meet you, and I loved your hair! I was like, “Why doesn’t mind ever look that pretty?”

Thank you for saying hi! 🙂

Very nice 🙂 I think you wear these colours well, I like it better than some of your yellow/orange looks even!! And I can’t personally get the hang of purples on me so I stick to mainly orange and yellows 🙂 (a bit of colour envy here..i really like purple)

i thought i could pass on this collection (perhaps i was just overwhelmed by the number of products released!), but this look is soooo gorgeous!! the eyes are colorful, the cheeks are fresh, and the lips are to die for (almost dazzleglass-y)! i might have to pick up at least one item now :o)

I really love the creativity and vibrancy of this look. I could never pull something like this off simply because I don’t have the eyeshadow application skills that you do. I think all the blush ombres are gorgeous. I particularly like the way Azalea Blossom looks in the pan. I am an NC42 and I was wondering if you think it would work on me since it is a cool toned blush? I think Vibrant Grape would work on me but I’m not looking for something that dark. Thanks for your help.

Thanks a lot, Preeti! I’m definitely warm toned, but I liked the way Azalea Blossom worked out on me. It’s surprisingly *not* as cool as you’d think.
