Bobbi Brown Tawny Glow Highlighting Powder Review, Photos, Swatches

Tawny Glow

Bobbi Brown Tawny Glow Highlighting Powder ($48.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rosy copper with subtle, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It was richly pigmented with a finish that was noticeable but still more moderate than full-on metallic.

The formula is designed to give “high-impact, buildable radiance.” The finish was about the same whether I wore it with semi-sheer coverage or more opaque coverage, though if I applied the barest amount, then maybe I could see something subtle about the luminosity on my skin. The powder had a smooth, soft consistency–softer than a lot of similar formulations, where they can feel a smidgen dry to the touch, though they look lovely on!–that was easy to apply, blend out, and use on the skin. I found that the rosy tone of this came through more as I applied and blended out the product in practice than initially swatched. It wore well for nine hours on me before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

$48.00/0.28 oz. - $171.43 Per Ounce

The formula is designed to give “high-impact, buildable radiance.” Most shades had medium or more intense pigmentation with moderate to intense shimmer, as some shades were more metallic and/or had fine sparkles. However, the powder buffs and diffuses particularly well and has a tendency to "melt" a bit more on the skin as a result. The texture was soft, smooth, and not too dense nor so soft that it became powdery in the pan. This formula typically lasted eight hours or so on my skin.

I know! I guess they were only $46 last time they released, which was pretty pricey but did not make my eyes bug out like $48.

The swatch scared me, because it almost looked a little chunky. But, it doesn’t look that way on the cheeks, so that’s good!

It looks so radiant and glowing on you! Perfect for summer!
Luckily, I have ColourPop Might Be, therefore, I suppose I’m covered. Although Might Be is a warmer shade by a smidge.

This shade is gorgeous, and stunning paired with the lipstick! I have MM and BB Telluride but am curious to see the difference when applied as these shades are right up my alley. I was surprised to see the price increase but, then again, BB is one of the brands I can most frequently buy at a discount (and they’ll make their way to the CCO, too).

I just looked at the swatch gallery comparison and it is pretty close to TF Reflects Gilt (bottom), which I adore, and possibly also TF Moodlight. Would love another rose shade like in Reflects Guilt.

Pretty! I am covered with dupes, but BB sure does make a very nice (and very expensive!) highlighter. I’m a fan of this formula on the eyes, too!

Oh, gorgeous! Opted for Hard To Get instead of Superb, which makes me think that Might Be will make it into the next CP order. Only you can enable this wallet save. This is too pretty, but, my Bobbi, how we are creeping up there in price.
